So after watching this while building my hybrid k04 (f23-t) bwa audi tt, i basically copied your boost curve etc, but with a limit of 1.5 bar due to keeping that stock map sensors, and ended up with 321 wheel hp/ 380bhp haha. Love your work brother. I need to get and learn winols, im using ECM titanium

Awesome vids especially the timing one I’ve just bought my own mk5 gti and did the chain first time with a cam bolt rounding off I’m sure mines got a dodgy injector or bad diverter it seems flat to me Over boosting at 20 imsure but only holds 10 only owned it a couple weeks now

You could push it just a little bit further by setting 140 bar rail pressure. I see many tunes with RS4 FPRV do it. I'm soon gonna test it too. BTW you get above your specified pressure due to the good old pressure creep. So you're kinda implicitly @135bar. Wouldn't it be better to aim at like 5,0 bar LP and hold that steady to avoid HP rail pressure creep?
Yeah if I needed to push the tuning then I would explore more options. However this is a stock BWA motor so happy where it is. I have targeted 133bar HP at peak rpm , and Im only creeping slightly over that so happy with control of that also.

On my mk5 GTI Edition 30 I have 3x KFZW maps and 3x KFZW2 maps. On the KFZW, map nr1 and nr3 have the same values but map nr2 not. Same case for the KFZW2. According to the software documentation KFZW is used when the camshaft is not active and KFZW2 is used when the camshaft is active…🤷🏻♂️ I am asking this since my car is pulling 2-3 deg. ignition at ~2750-4000 rpm (at 180 load). increase load results in even more ignition decrease…

Hey mate quick question. When you put on the CAI you capped that small hole on the inlet pipe to the turbo and now it has a pipe running to it. What’s the pipe now running to it? Love the build! Cheers.
Hey! It's for the diverter valve which is mounted in a different place on a k04. Originally the car had a k03hybrid so the doverter was on the turbo. The k04 has it mounted on the boost pipe before the throttle body and the link pipe.
@Decimal Tenths I'm based in Manchester. I have had the car 3 years now and like you paid 2.5k I've probably spent x10 that amount on the car buying all the bits. Having a bad Map put on the car from a. Company based here.. mis diagnosed issues and created more issues with brand new parts!! Currently running 300bhp and 300 ftlbs.. but the car was mapped with many issues.. which I've since tackled. But I'm currently at a point of.. 02 sensor fault.. brand new bosch one installed.. still same fault code.. runner flap won't adapt in vds so replaced motor but still won't adapt. Also brand new ko3 hybrid.. After tuning company was just guessing why it wasn't making power. Adjusted the actuator. And has caused the rattling noise. After researching. I know the two things I haven't got.. is a 3 bar map sensor and a 200 fuel rail sensor.. everything else I've pretty much replaced!

ending is lovely with compresor :P nice... anyway, I own ed30 mk5 with k04 turbo, currently on 327 brake hp on dyno... but I got flutter from turbo when I am on low boost /around 1500-2500 rpm and I then I drop foot from gas pedal... so I am solving right now, if it is harmless or not... what you think?
Chances are you are experiencing compressor surge which is very common on k04 TFSI's. When I tune these I stay out of the surge zone as it can cause damage over time. You can either remap or install an Anti surge core which is the BEST mod to a k04 turbo
That’s impressive from a bwa engine lots of people slate them . I’ve heard the pistons are a higher compression then the cdl and the byd is that true ? You need some cdl cams MORE POWER lol

Hey guys great work 👍 I've recently changed my cam chain and tensioner but still getting "adjustment bank one" at 5.9%, there are no rattles and car rums perfect. Could the timing be a tooth out maybe or would that run rough?
is there any difference in valvesprings normal mk5 gti and mk5 gti edition30? I laterally rebuild my engine to brand new everything. So.. and with “high” boost the valves will float (is what they told me) i think its weird… they dropped the boost in bar so it wouldn’t float. Weird thing is that it only can push 330hp. With less then 400nm and less then 1.45bar boost. Its fine but.. before it had more then 340hp and over 430nm on the wheels. I dont get it if i see so many mk5 gti’s that are not even editions 30’s with same motors as s3 have (with few things different) with sush high numbers.. 😅 I have changed to Loba LO400 turbo instead of stock k04 turbo.. and stronger crankshafts ect.
We have dyno at 394 at 1,65 with revo stage3 hardware and software with K04 turbo direct sa.. Amazing..but 2 bar for bwa It Is soo mutch! No? 80% duty Amazing 😂

You will find that your car is fast no doubt. But it won't be optimal to your setup. You may be missing torque, or bhp in areas that a custom tune can deliver on. I personally am not a fan of off the shelf files. There is generally a compromise that custom tuning can get around. My advise is that anything stg2 onwards should be custom to the setup

Are these figures of power at the wheel or approximated at the crank? I've had two MK5 GTI's and both made about 185bhp at the wheels pre tune and 235bhp afterwards, the K03 being the limiting factor.

Hey man I love your videos but I have a question on my GTI I got the new motor and trans put in but it won’t start it cranks but then it just smells like it’s flooded with fuel and I don’t know what to do and it just keeps making me frustrated if you have any knowledge on what to do I would be really grateful if you could help me
Plug in and read the codes, might just need the codes resetting before it will fire. After that it would be best to check everyrhijg has power, fuel pressure on low and high side.
Although o the best setups, the anti surge core will do 400bhp. But most do 380bhp. The hybrid isn't a guaranteed route to 400bhp, but most do make over 400.

Hey nick I have a 08 mk5 gti and my abs light is on. I've replaced all wheel speed sensors and the front ones were in bad shape, they had rust in them and were stuck in there pretty good. I was sure that new sensors would solve the problem but the abs light is still on. Any ideas?
Yes pal, A lot of the time it's the ABS ring which is corroded which is the problem. Part of the bearings so new bearings required as long as there's no wiring issues. All of them can be logged, and confirmed as faulty.

This car is only 1 of 2 that I've tuned and got over 400bhp. The other was on a mint 6R with Anti Surge core. It's not common to get these figures, and most k04 framed turbo cars make 360-380bhp on our dyno.

Hi dude, Sound like your at stg2 kind of level. S3s will typically do 330-350bhp, with similar torque levels. If you want the best then get a vis hpfp and rs4 return and it should then be 360+bhp. Yes tuning after a carbon clean and injector test is ideal and it's how we do it.

hi , I was wondering if you could help me , my gti dog 2008 drives normal and changes gears as it should however when it comes to a standstill it stalls , the red battery light flashes on the dash and then I will need to restart again but drives fine and idles fine. Have you ever heard of this issue before or know what it might be ? thank you
Most probably something simple like the PCV valve which doesn't reset when moving to idle, but does when idling. Logging and testing will confirm though

@@Quattrogame_pro a lot of ppl are now installing anti surge cores on their K04 now, it's the new fad. Most are hitting 400 or damn near to it now days
Not really it's a specific tapered bolt, with a very shallow head as the variator oil control feed slides inside so space limitations are strict. Easy to I stall, maintain and remove.
Where do you think the 400hp are coming from because as long as i'm into me TFSI tuning i didn't heard of a 400hp K04 for a single time unless it was a hybrid like a TTE420/TTE480 of course...

Far better to buy a conversion kit. Get in touch with Danny Hill at Wigan VAG spares. He generally has them on the shelf.

I laterally rebuild my engine to brand new everything. So.. and with “high” boost the valves will float (is what they told me) i think its weird… they dropped the boost in bar so it wouldn’t float.
Weird thing is that it only can push 330hp. With less then 400nm and less then 1.45bar boost. Its fine but.. before it had more then 340hp and over 430nm on the wheels.
I dont get it if i see so many mk5 gti’s that are not even editions 30’s with same motors as s3 have (with few things different) with sush high numbers.. 😅
I have changed to Loba LO400 turbo instead of stock k04 turbo.. and stronger crankshafts ect.
We have dyno at 394 at 1,65 with revo stage3 hardware and software with K04 turbo direct sa.. Amazing..but 2 bar for bwa It Is soo mutch! No? 80% duty Amazing 😂
Yes 2 bar far too much in my opinion. This is pushed to 1.8 bar peak. 80% duty at high rpm to keep the wg shut

Yes it is! No mods, just some extra duty in the map. No grounding mod on this.

How does dyno tuning compare to an off the shelf K04 tune such as APR's? I'm doing a K04 upgrade on my MK5 in the next month or so, and I'm planning on using their file.. do you have any advice or recommendations, sir? Great MK5 videos man subscribing for more!
You will find that your car is fast no doubt. But it won't be optimal to your setup. You may be missing torque, or bhp in areas that a custom tune can deliver on. I personally am not a fan of off the shelf files. There is generally a compromise that custom tuning can get around. My advise is that anything stg2 onwards should be custom to the setup

Are these figures of power at the wheel or approximated at the crank? I've had two MK5 GTI's and both made about 185bhp at the wheels pre tune and 235bhp afterwards, the K03 being the limiting factor.
In the video I give measured wheel power and also measured crank power. We don't estimate power figures wheel vs engine.

Plug in and read the codes, might just need the codes resetting before it will fire. After that it would be best to check everyrhijg has power, fuel pressure on low and high side.

Is it worth buying the hybrid you sell or the anti surge core? What can I roughly push with the anti surge core you sell on your site?
Although o the best setups, the anti surge core will do 400bhp. But most do 380bhp. The hybrid isn't a guaranteed route to 400bhp, but most do make over 400.

If all mods are good and it is stg2+ with a hpfp then typically 360-380bhp

Hey nick I have a 08 mk5 gti and my abs light is on. I've replaced all wheel speed sensors and the front ones were in bad shape, they had rust in them and were stuck in there pretty good. I was sure that new sensors would solve the problem but the abs light is still on. Any ideas?
Yes pal,
A lot of the time it's the ABS ring which is corroded which is the problem. Part of the bearings so new bearings required as long as there's no wiring issues.
All of them can be logged, and confirmed as faulty.

This car is only 1 of 2 that I've tuned and got over 400bhp. The other was on a mint 6R with Anti Surge core. It's not common to get these figures, and most k04 framed turbo cars make 360-380bhp on our dyno.

Hi dude,
Sound like your at stg2 kind of level. S3s will typically do 330-350bhp, with similar torque levels. If you want the best then get a vis hpfp and rs4 return and it should then be 360+bhp.
Yes tuning after a carbon clean and injector test is ideal and it's how we do it.

hi , I was wondering if you could help me , my gti dog 2008 drives normal and changes gears as it should however when it comes to a standstill it stalls , the red battery light flashes on the dash and then I will need to restart again but drives fine and idles fine. Have you ever heard of this issue before or know what it might be ? thank you
Most probably something simple like the PCV valve which doesn't reset when moving to idle, but does when idling. Logging and testing will confirm though

Not a good idea pal, this is custom tuned to the setup, so would need work to be optimal on another setup.

Not really it's a specific tapered bolt, with a very shallow head as the variator oil control feed slides inside so space limitations are strict. Easy to I stall, maintain and remove.
Which alloys are you mounting for all that power? Mine is similar with a k04 but with 17 it’s unmanageable

Where do you think the 400hp are coming from because as long as i'm into me TFSI tuning i didn't heard of a 400hp K04 for a single time unless it was a hybrid like a TTE420/TTE480 of course...
Oh well in that case we might as well not bother if as long as you've been into TFSI tuning it's never happened...
