Kendrick said it best "real people want real music" theres real music in all genres.
This is the best quote because it rings so true.
Absolutely 💯💯💯💯
Every person, that listens to Kdot? And that doesn't listen to rap because they feel it can be, keyword here, watered down, by bullshit? Can appreciate artist like him. He's not about the, trying to appease the MASS APPEAL. Like Drake does.

THE JIG IS UP
EVERYONE.. No matter the genre people stop at the "a minnnorr" and has the same face. lol.
It’s ALWAYS so entertaining to witness 😂😂😂
@@Zaza_GradyI start smiling immediately when I realize it’s coming up because I know what their faces are gonna look like.
@@AriesGirl7719 @Zaza-eq4ss insane..and it's weeks later..still feel it..
@@mrbrandonturner85 Every single time.
Dude, don't worry about reacting to music outside your usual genre. There are metalheads and hip-hop heads that make their whole channels about exploring outside their usual interests. In fact, I was looking for reactors like you. Why limit yourself? Go for it.
I used to watch a channel called “Rock Reacts” where 2 metal heads would listen to pop and rap songs. Jon Denton was one of the duo and now he he’s his own thriving channel. We love to see it!
Low key, those are the best reaction videos... ones where the listener expands beyond their typical genre of immersion.
There was a small mumble rap fan reactor called yoshi or something like that. Anyway she started listening to lyricism type rap, & in her like 20th video she started crying, because she’d realized that Eminem was now her favorite rapper.
It’s amazing to see the transitions
That part. I discovered the awesomeness of SpiritBox via the Cobra remix from one of my favs Megan Thee Stallion. I’m a fan of MUSIC! If there is a story to be told, I’m there ❤❤❤
Facts! How I ended up here looking for reactors who normally don't listen to hip hop for their interpretation.
I did not care if they called me a poser. I listened to everything. Loudly, too. I did not care if I was called a weird Black girl.
We don't care about any of them
EVERYTHING!! And do to this day. They can call us what they want. At 44, I’m well beyond GAF (and it also comes in handy in Trivia games 😉)
Sighs in agreement as a punk girl with a mohawk who also loved hip hop & electronic music. I always looked so out of place when I’d go to raves or photograph bboy battles.
I tend to cycle in and out of music genres, during 2016-2018 I was deep into Trap and Drill, Deathcore since 2020, then went back to the early 2000's metal like linkin park and slipknot in 2022, this beef has thrown me deep into rap again.
I don't have the attention to actively swap between genres, so I like to just fully immerse myself for one until I get bored or something else captures my attention
🤘🏽😈🤘🏽
The Beef is so good it brought a metal head back from the dead, this is hip hop history right here
I’m a 60yo into 2nd gen K-pop. You’re good, ma dude. Like what you want. Music is universal
My 7 yr daughter listens to kpop, i must admit its pretty good
Y'all! Have you ever heard of Perfume?? It's J-Pop. Look them up! ❤
I’m 48 and fell in love with Kpop in 2016!😊
🙌🏾 🎶 🙌🏾
1st Gen K-Pop is awesome.
good way to say it at the start. im too old to have "guilty" pleasures. i like what i like and i dont feel guilty about it. ill listen to kendrick, backpink, sleep token, maggie rogers, i dont care. if its good its good.
Got to enjoy music. No sense in pandering to others. Glad you enjoyed the video.
@@APOKALYPSE34I agree. Good music in all genres. If it's good, I'll listen to it
Love this reaction.. you're eclectic.. your love of music can't be pigeon holed to one genre.
So true! Glad you enjoyed the reaction.
And it never should be pigeon holed. There’s good stuff in all different genres in all different times. I’m 54 and I still listen to good new music. You just have to look for it. It’s out there. Kendrick is one hell of a lyricist. One of the best! This song blows me away.
Your eyes tell it all 😂😂😂😂 I was the same when I first heard it. I’m not sure if anyone told you yet, Kendrick Lamar is a Pulitzer Prize recipient as well.
😂😂😂😂😂
Facts
I have been far removed from contemporary hip hop and rap for years. I’m a GenXer and I still carry Dr. Dre, Snoop, NWA, Beastie Boys, and Eve in my heart. Hotline Bling was an ear worm, but I wasn’t a fan or listened to Drake. I might have heard of Kendrick, but I don’t remember hearing any particular song of his. Since the Kendrick/Drake beef was becoming actual news I took the time to give the songs a listen. Wow 🤯🤯🤯 Kendrick has me excited about rap again! The music and beats are addictive. I’m with dude when he said it was making him want to move. Love Kendrick’s cadence and how he is able to effectively emote. I hear the sarcasm and anger in his voice. I like when people sing or rap with emotion. When Kendrick started doing a Canadian accent in Euphoria I about died. “He don’t know nothin’ bout that” had to cut Drake. It almost made me feel bad for him. Drake’s comebacks were weak. He said Kendrick’s woman is taller than Kendrick. It’s like, Drake, you just admitted that Kendrick is secure as fuuuuuuuck about himself and made yourself sound insecure. You complimented him and put yourself down on your own diss song about him 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I've started my playlist with this track everyday after it dropped. I can't get enough of it 🤷🏾♂️😂
"Hey Drake" 😶 "I hear you like em young" 👁👁
@@Celaeno725 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 those wee the eyes 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Dude, my son loves hip hop, from my time, Biggie, Nas, Tribe, etc... But he also loves Korn, Linkin Park, Disturbed and even Lorna Shore. Music has no boundaries, you listen to what you like and what moves you. More power to you!
Your son has amazing taste in music
Me too sounds like you raised an intelligent kid! 💪🏾
@@audrey517 Thanks, we taught him well...lol 😉
@@WORMbig56 thanks! We did our best. I definitely can't complain!
rap and metal go hand in hand fr
Both were blacklisted at their beginnings. Metallica one of my favorite bands ever.
I agree. So much feeling instrumentally and lyrically. Hearing that west coast 90s beat & cadence took me back to a happy place. Haven’t heard that style in too long!
gangster rap yes!!! i fully agree
@@jstu8 same!! Like I remember hearing California Love for the first time and I was 8yrs old. Im 37 now and will never forget the 1st time hearing not like us, gave me that same feeling lol.
@@beansworld6015 same here. It made me kinda sad when it made me realize how long it’s been since I had that feeling or heard anything like that. I don’t think since Tupac weight has been half my life now. I still listen to Tupac but it makes me wonder why west coast music has kind of kept to itself for the last 20 yrs.
Love the diversity. Diversity makes the world a better place.
Kendricks ability to just let some lines sit and resonate while humming with dissapointment in his opponent is amazing.
There's prolly more entendres we havent realized yet because truths are coming out real time 🤯
Each day, something comes out... how much more exposure can Drake endure?
So very many. It’s insane.
Can't imagine how deep these songs cut Drake himself. Some lines are really meant for Drake to understand other people won't get it like Drake will
Pay no mind to ppl who call you a poser. I got that too. Gen-x, Xennials and Millennials grew up listening to everything. That makes you cooler cos you don’t limit yourself. 😎 Tupac listened to metal.
Plus, I think how we were fed music exposed us to other genres too. Video music box (jukebox), MTV helped. Like, even if we didn't like it back then, we heard it, and can now appreciate what was happening.
Another great understanding of the lyrics is what makes Kendrick a great poet. This is why Kendrick won a Pulitzer Prize.
The John Stockton line also implies Drake is Karl Malone, who had a kid with a 13 yo.
Though Drake hasn't

Metal and hip hop are good counter balances to each other
Bro you picked out line and bar meanings faster than most of the hip-hop oriented reaction channels. Mad props
I was interested in your reaction because I know what the hip hop community thinks already. I think you as a self described metal head, you are able to make a pretty objective opinion. I liked your reaction.
9:44 Like a "lien" I didn't even think of that!!!!!
Me either. Leaning like roof on house of hip hop (head of the house) + syrup lean were already a cool double. 🤯
Creative writing is so important
My brother in law and his girlfriend showed me this song, I want too into hip hop before, I mean I liked it but didn’t listen to it too often but when I heard this I went and listened to Kendrick’s other songs and I’ve had him in repeat for a minute!
I'm a black female who doesn't listen to rap...Short Story...moms didn't play like that back in the day. But Kendrick songs 🔥 for all to enjoy
Alot of Metal, and Rock artists love Hip Hop music, and there are alot of Hip Hop artists that listen to Metal, and Rock music. Thats a mutual respect between artists, and art forms! Besides you get ideas from other forms of music. Hip Hop uses metal music in their mixes/tracks...especially back in the early, and golden eras.
Nothing wrong with liking any, or all forms of music!!
The Weekend wrote A WHOLE album for Drake….
Like, if Drake would’ve just stayed in His lane!
Drake is NOT HIP-HOp.
The culture knew this tho

@@jesussaldana4558It goes deeper a guy from my city "Nickelus F" wrote all his shit when he was underground too.

Plz review “meet the graham” by kendrick lamar. Its like a horror movie diss track
I'm a 71 yr old bass player..Ive traveled all music genres .music is universal and should not be classified for grammy nor any other prizrs
Kendrick Lamar even won a Pulitzer Prize which hasn’t been won by a musician other than jazz and classical. Great music knows no bounds.
Three more things: (1) Kendrick's whole song "Not Like Us" is in the key of B Minor, but he "ups the chord on Drake" and sings these two words in the A Minor chord. Obviously, Kendrick is repeating that he heard Drake likes them young and we know a minor is a young person under the age of 18.
(2) Tons of Drake's songs are rapped/sung in A Minor
I’m a 60 year old black female that has loved all genres of music from hip hop , rap, r n b, classical, Christian, folk, rock etc. great music and storytelling if I can personally relate it’s therapeutic…. Don’t explain yourself enjoy the music
😂dude you funny as hell and respect your knowledge of hip-hop
I respect that. We can appreciate all music genres no matter where you come from!
I listen to heavy metal very often but these Kendrick bars hit harder than most heavy metal songs 😭😭
This metalhead also loves old school hip-hop, gangsta rap, jam rock, hard house, happy hardcore, etc. I agree that lyrical hip-hop & metal are very similar for they both are raw poetry, often about personal pain & experience that we can relate to, deep within our mind, body, & soul. This song is 🔥, especially the beat & spittin nothing but TRUTH! So yeah, most of us metalheads got this on repeat & definitely rock with Kendrick🤘🤘🤘✌️
Lamar was speaking TRUTH to POWER! Come on now, why would he say all that for no reason!?
Lean is also the cough syrup mixture rappers use to get h*gh and woc is a brand of that syrup. I lean on you like another line of woc its all eyes on me and imma send it up to pac
If you listen to the way he says "another line of woc" you can also hear it as "I lean on you like I never learned to walk"
I understand the codeine. But codeine/promethazine combo must be for folks that have a tolerance, because I could NOT function. I had to leave work early in an Uber lmao
@@morocuda2090 this is why he has a Pulitzer Prize and a few Grammy's..
He throws one verse that can go in MANY directions..
@morocuda2090 yo that is crazy!!! He does that in euphoria too where he says "a habitual liar too" twice, but he pronounces it like "a b*tch you a liar too". I didn't see any reactors pick that up. That is so cool. Thank you for sharing that.
@@SEOshogun No problem! And you taught me somethin new as well
Lol😂😂😂😂 Like ppl are still dissecting Beethoven/Chopin,Ludwig, Our great great great great grandkids are going to be dissecting Kendrick Lamar. The great American Pulitzer Prize winner Poet/Rapper and murderer of Fake Rappers.Every Genre of music should bump this. Bcuz he put FAKE talent on notice.. Ppl work hard to craft their talent, then have to navigate the dirty world of music contracts. Practice and take the boos as well as the cheers. Practicing n practicing. Dealing with real life ups n downs.. And yet maintain their raw talent . KENDRICK IS TELLING THOSE MANUFACTURED ASSEMBLY LINE THIEVING ARTISTS.. YALL ARE NOT LIKE US.. TELLING THE PPL. All metalheads have one thing in common, we love passionate music. I don't like "hip hop," I like Kendrick Lamar's "music," just as much as NF and Immortal Technique etc. 🤘🏾
This reaction was priceless 😅
If an old white man who has been listening to rap since before I was alive says Kendrick is the GOAT, I'm gonna believe him LMAO.
Also I wanted to say, I agree that there's a lot of overlap between hip hop and metal! This is something I've talked to before with my friends, but I basically feel like it's because they're both ways of stripping back music to its roots.
They can be melodic and pretty or harsh and loud and can really express emotion in its rawest form because with a death roar or a hard bar, you're not concerned about hitting a note, you're there to say how you feel and nothing else. For that reason, I consider them both to be beautiful in their own special ways! (I feel like Punk Rock also fits in with this in its own way, but that's besides the point.)
Anyways, I am not The Sovereign Black™️ that can speak for the whole community, but as far as I'm concerned, you're invited to MY cookout lmao.
Love the reaction by other types of musicians…. Good work bro
More to come!
You are too cute! Thank you for the review!!
