- Each day, thousands of people throw coins into the world famous Trevi fountain to make a wish. Collected twice a week, the coins are used to fund Caritas, a catholic charity. On average, 200 to 400 kilogrammes of coins worth 4,000 to 8,000 euros are gathered each time.
