This is helpful indeed I'm moving some bushes to line them up with other that are away from the house about 2-3 ft so they will look better and not be up against the house Eventually (soon after) I will level them all to the size I want for ascetics 😅 Thank you for this 😊
It's looking great and it freshened up the house. I been doing some of this work on the fron house too and it has make it a big improvement. Keep up the good work and show us the progress.
Thanks, Juan! It's been awesome to see how it improved the curb appeal of our home. I'm getting all the film put together for the second and final phase of this project! I'm looking forward to getting it all posted!
Nice 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Great job. I just moved and it was unexpected along with suddenly as it happened so fast so unplanned very emotional!! I had landscaped a little every spring since 2016 as I love doing gardening. I rent so I held back but I finally thought it don’t matter because I enjoy it so much. I had just started doing small areas at a time and what I had done had grown so big and beautiful. As I was unplanned to move suddenly I took my shrubs that had grown in to beautiful perfect size and shape. If I bought the size as they are it would be so so expensive. I had a guy come dig them up. Sadly I’ve not had help as the guy got sidetracked or something as he didn’t show back up. But I love Arborvitae‘s that I bought very small put in pots and then ground. They are a good size now about 5 feet tall I got those put in ground and doing ok so far🙌🏻 Then my favorite Yo pons yo Ponce Yaupon holly‘s they were small when I got them and they’re like oh gosh they’re so big now and look like snowballs just like the ones that you just transplanted and they’re about that size I have not got them in the ground yet I’ve got a guy coming tomorrow which will be almost a week out of the ground him there still grain are any advice would be helpful am I also have two other bushes I cannot think of what the name of them are that I bottom just because the girl quickly and I have two of those and I was going to plan on along the privacy fence where it’s bare because they do grow really fast and it’s not a decorative type shrub but it’s a good filler shrub on for height and filler am they look like they’re all dead I am just your advice on that should I just print them all the way down in Plano I do believe that come back but your advice on that would be very much appreciated him I don’t want my Hollys my AirPods today I love those and then I have some Mexican Heather grass I do believe it’s going to be fine it does it I cut it all the way down before I had it dug up I also have a lot of alpha ears that I had my guy split on they multiply took me forever to find myself in years I live in a small town didn’t have a nursery clothes I finally found them and I split one and they took off like crazy but they’re all looking kind of dead I know they will come back but when I came outside the guy is deaf to help me and he split 1/2 of of one into about 10 so I think I need to that’s too many I’m going to take them up and I’m gonna put make to out of the 10 and then the other half I’m gonna do the same thing you did vies on the transplanting when it’s already been a week would be very very very much appreciated I really want to save them even if I do have to hedge them down a good bit or all the way and also the home that I’ve moved in has a room it doesn’t have any bushes around the back and I want some to get some shrubs not the old ponds but something that grows quickly and looks pretty that I can put along the fence in along the backside of the house so ED advice I would love thank you very much. They all will be planted tomorrow Also this home has huge I mean 5 to 7-8 feet tall and bigger around I had no idea what kind of shrub it was till I walked around Saturday and they are way overgrown and there are 4 and huge but alit of yellow leaves on 3 and alit of dead looking parts on all 3 out of 4. The 4th one is in shade other 3 get all day sun. I could not believe they are Gardenias !! I would of not ever guessed it!! They have buds and I love Gardenias. I’ve not ever had a good shade of morning sun. I don’t want to pull up n hate to cut all way down, only because this yard is in need of attention and it’s only plants along privacy fence and not much of anything going for yard at all. I have 3 apple trees right together as they don’t look that old at all. Then a beautiful dogwood which I love and it’s so healthy as it was full and about 30 feet tall🙌🏻 I thought it was beautiful as that but I have a 5 lb dog and wanted it so I could see him so I had my helper take off up about 3 feet. I’m going to go do a bit more and level out and clean it up and plant my host as around it. Then I have a Peach tree☹️😩 I know peach trees go bad easy as anyone I knew that had one they ended up pulling up from rotted and splitting. Well I decided to walk out to it to get I was sure dead limbs and omg they were so so many!!! I began getting them and before I knew it I had more branches on the ground than tree left😱😱🥺😳 I felt ridiculous as I only pulled on branches and I had huge no tug no nothing except just a light pull and lost huge big branches and not one but a entire section‼️ i had to stop or nothing would be standing at all right now!! Istood back afraid I was going to see a huge disaster and it didn’t look bad at all . I believe the tree needs to come down I just don’t want to lose what greenery I have now right off. I will and do plan on planting and getting it as I want it but I’m focusing on inside mostly right now but plan on my pots and buying at least 4 new ones for updated look. I was in a small apartment duplex with only half a yard but still alit of hard work. I don’t want a lot of maintenance as my Yaupon holly’s that I always have lived in large amounts in my landscaping along with a lot of Arborvitae’s. Which gave my landscaping a more elegant formal look. I also had a pool also which I only wanted green all year no shed of leaves. But I’ve changed after renting so long now and I don’t want to spend a fortune and I want just a quick growing shrub that without landscaping as I usually do and mulch n put more dirt and weed cover and build up with curves and all. I am only doing small sections as that because this house is so big and a huge huge yard. The previous owners were straight as a row of Hollys along the entire front and side of house and they are non stop straight as along home. It has one area where they are apart and it’s at the L shape corner area that’s open and has a Grecian Woman statue and nothing else. I’m thinking of a arborvitae may be arm is very formal and it’s very manicured the entire front of the house the hollies run all the way around all the same size as their cat blunt square shape like they’re all one plant all the way around they’re very healthy and they’re about 3 feet tall I am really way on the very full all way the ground I can’t change the landscaping along the house because it has a curb has a sidewalk and they built up the curb so it’s just straight lined him so I’m gonna do some landscaping around the curves of the driveway up on the curb you know around the outside curve of the sidewalk to the door has a very long sidewalk I am but ideas would be very helpful and I’m wearing something that grows quickly him because the yard is in fear a great need of attention and there is no shrubbery on the back of the house at all the only thing is the three apple trees one rotten peach tree but it is green I’m going to try to save it through this summer if you know any tricks or tips on a peach tree that is very fragile but it does have leaves on it would be helpful maybe I could save it but I don’t know him maybe it just needs a good prone and I don’t know him the apple trees are good the dogwoods good and they only other thing is the gardenias are so big and they’re very old and I have A lot of them old on branches that are just look dead but it’s like the gardenias are struggling to live and the one in the corner is very healthy because it’s in the shade him but they’re huge so any advice on trying to save those and is the best advice would be to come all the way down what is something I could plant along the fence that would grow fast because when they come down it’s gonna be so bear there’s nothing else here RS got green grass that’s it so anything would be helpful thank you so much
I'll keep that in mind. I don't claim to be an expert in this so I don't always share how I did something because I don't know if it's the "right way" to do it. I generally just show what I do and leave it at that. Thank you for watching. I hope it was helpful to some degree.
Great video! I plan on transplanting a couple of my Japanese yews, how would you suggest going about it? They’re both up against the house and pretty established shrubs. Thank you, Ara
What is your tree that you pruned way back? I have a large callery pear tree that is super overgrown and we just moved in. Are we living parallel lives? Do you play trombone? Haha!
Everything is thriving and doing well for the most part. I have one bush that I'll probably replace this year since it never fully recovered. I think this was more from me pruning it back too far than from it being transplanted. Thanks for watching and leaving a question.
Hey Ben! Just started watching and enjoying your videos. I live in the DFW area and noticed your Flower Mound shirt, are you from the DFW as well? Last question, why did you water the bush with RGS instead of putting that in the hole?
Hey Ben! I grew up down in Dallas, Tx and went to high school there but I'm originally from St.Louis. I put the RGS with the floragreene because this is what is recommended by greene county fertilizer. When applied in this manner RGS and FloraGreene can be absorbed through the leaf, stems, and also serves as a drench along the trunk of the plant. Thank you for watching!
Hey thanks. I appreciate this. I've bought small (immature) bushes, and have just plopped them in anywhere as I get my ideas for landscaping together. I actually did not know if it was easy or difficult to move the bushes. It looks like you are not terribly worried about cutting roots. Is this true? And what time of year is this? I would appreciate if you replied as I would like your opinion on this. Great job!
I did this in May. Early spring or early fall may be a better time than when I did it but it worked out okay. It's okay to cut roots when digging them out, you just want to try to dig out a bit around the shrub to keep a good root ball attached to the shrub. Thanks for watching!
It’s very satisfying when re-arranging the landscape. Especially to make it more appealing.
It was definitely satisfying to see the finished result but lots of manual labor. Thanks for watching!
If you have to transplant frequently, I would suggest using a Dyna-Diggr! It will save you time and energy!
I loved watching this in the high speed!!! It was so cool to see all of your labour
Thank you!
Beautiful arrangement, my front yard needs to be beautified also thanks for the ideas.
Holy smokes, what an improvement it is and will be one the live edge is in place and mulch. Lucky neighbors!💚
Thanks, Koven!
Nice video! Looks awesome! Those yellow bushes are called Gold Thread Junipers.
Thanks, Aiden! I know very little about the names of all of these bushes. Thank for the info!
Really nice Ben !! Made a huge difference. Looks awesome
Thank you!
You are incredible! Sending this to my husband.....
Thank you for your support!
Wow that is a lot of work but you made fast work of it!
Thank you, Martha!
Looks great! Can't wait to see the live edge.
Thank you, Jeff! I'm in the midst of getting all the phase 2 footage ready. So the finished product will be coming soon!
Man what a transformation it looks amazing
Thank you!
My guy went crazy with the scissors 😅 I trimmed all my shrubs also with scissors I was amazed myself how good they turned out.
Big time difference ben! Looking good.
Thanks Brett! Looking forward to showing the finished product! Thanks for watching!
This is helpful indeed

Thanks for watching! Good luck with your project.
Looks awesome Ben!
Thank you!
Nice work ! I always get nervous about transplanting trees or shrubs you give me inspiration seeing this done will save this video
Thank you! You just gotta get out and try it. Do you what you can and hope for the best!
It's looking great and it freshened up the house. I been doing some of this work on the fron house too and it has make it a big improvement. Keep up the good work and show us the progress.

NICE WORK B 👏!
Thank you!
Looks great!
Thank you!
Great job moving those bushes Ben. And what a great improvement. Black mulch is going to make them pop.💞
It's been a ton of work, but well worth it!

Thank you this in depth message. I hope my video was helpful! Good luck with your landscaping! Thank you for watching and your support!
Surgical with those scissors!!! Nice job
Thank you!
You’re a busy guy!
For sure! Lots of fun on going jobs and projects! Thanks for watching, Jimbo!
Looks nice. It would be good if you described in detail/ normal speed, how to succeed transplant a large bush.
I'll keep that in mind. I don't claim to be an expert in this so I don't always share how I did something because I don't know if it's the "right way" to do it. I generally just show what I do and leave it at that. Thank you for watching. I hope it was helpful to some degree.
Fair enough. Thanks for replying. It was a helpful video.
I wish I had floragreen and RGS when I tried to transplant a couple of my trees last year, only half of them survived.
They're really useful products. I used them for several different applications. Thanks for the comment and watching my videos!
Nothing like diggin up bushes and moving them to new spots. It really changes the entire appearance! Great job!
Yes it does! It's been a lot of work but well worth it. Thank for watching, Don!
Nice!
Thank you!
Would you place fabric in your garden/bush bed to prevent weeds?
I don't use fabric much, I just apply preen once a year and have good success. Any weeds that come up after this I generally spot spray or just pull.
Great video! I plan on transplanting a couple of my Japanese yews, how would you suggest going about it? They’re both up against the house and pretty established shrubs. Thank you, Ara
I wanted to know how did u remove bushes?
Just bought a house n im doing this previous owner had a big bush next to the driveway in the way of getting out of my car
Looks fantastic Ben! What a huge difference?
Thank you!
What is your tree that you pruned way back? I have a large callery pear tree that is super overgrown and we just moved in. Are we living parallel lives? Do you play trombone? Haha!
I'm not sure what kind of tree that is. I don't play the trombone but I use to play the french horn in high school.
It's been 2 years since you transplanted the shrubs....just wondering how they're doing.
Everything is thriving and doing well for the most part. I have one bush that I'll probably replace this year since it never fully recovered. I think this was more from me pruning it back too far than from it being transplanted. Thanks for watching and leaving a question.
Man! You prune like a champ! Were those fiskars? 😎👊
Thank you! Yeah those are fiskars. They do an awesome job!

Great work love the Blessed Virgin Mary statue.
LIKE THATS IS GONNA DO ANYTHING!!!

You weren’t just beating around the bush on this episode. I’ll see myself out.
😂
We? Looks like you and a supervisor lol
We're a team. I wouldn't have been able to do this without my wifes help watching the kids.
