    I've reinstalled Cubase several times over the past few days due to a sustain error, and today I even formatted my computer, but the pedals still didn't work. Now I saw your video and fixed it. Thank you a lot

    I'm so thankful you made this video, I'd been searching for a fix for this on my PSR-EW310 for a week or so! This fixed it perfectly. As some other commenters have noted, I used the Duo Type set to BALANCE to stop the odd left-leaning audio.

    Thank you for this, it got my sustain pedal to work in logic pro x when using a software instrument, but I can't figure out how to change the audio to come out of both headphone ears in logic to complete the fix. Only left ear :(

    • @jacques-dev
      @jacques-dev 2 года назад +1

      Deleting the software instrument and adding it again seems to have fixed it, thank you!

      @@jacques-dev Oh ok - was about to mention the spot at 5:00 in the video - in GarageBand everything got panned to the left, but manually re-centering it fixed it.

      Hey man. You don’t have to touch the DAW for that. Simply change the DUO TYPE (number 55) from separate to BALANCE.

    What an incredible great guy you are! Thanks a bunch! I actually found that fix as well, but it was a bit glitchy at first. However, I must have done something wrong, it works absolutely satisfying now. I’m also using iPad with garageband. Thanks again. Subbing and clicking notification.

    Thanks for this workaround! I’m just still confused that the sustain pedal is correctly sending and transmitting midi data signals to my iPad (using Midi Wrench, a MIDI monitoring app), yet it cannot recognize the sustain pedal events when using MIDI app engines such as Garageband, Ravenscroft275, etc. in regular playing.

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  Год назад +1

      Yeah it has to do with the individual app; some recognize the pedal normally some do don’t.

    To fix the left hand side issue, all you need to do is to go to Duo Type, number 55 on the PSR E373, and change from separate to BALANCE. (Do this by using the -/No button)

    Mine was working great, then after connecting it to ableton it worked, but now when I try to use my psr as a standalone not midi, its no longer sustaining, I don't know why, but on another keyboard it works

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  4 месяца назад +1

      If you’re using it as standalone with no midi, don’t make of those changes (splitting the keyboard etc). Did the sustain pedal work playing standalone before? Also if your sustain pedal has a polarity switch make sure it is at the correct setting.

    Just FYI.
    Your voice audio seems different at first. Then, at 0.47, it gets better, and is ok for the remainder of the vid. I don't use MIDI (except for multitrack recordings in the MIDI sequencer of my ew425), and no longer have an e373, but this vid will come in handy if I get another e373 as a present for someone and they want to do MIDI with it. Anyway, the more keyboard info the better. Thanks.

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  2 года назад +1

      Hey Thomas! I did do the video pretty quickly - the intro and the outro were just recorded on my iPhone built in mic (my audio interface, mixer etc were setup in another room for something else so I didn’t want to move them) - the keyboard parts were recorded using an iRig mic connected to the iPad so that would explain the difference. Thanks for checking out the video!
