Bro, my 3 year old son listens to this with me. It's about the only thing he will sit still for more than 10 minutes. When the theme music plays he does a made up dance every time. Great stuff.
Bro! I been watching this channel for about 8 months now. And I absolutely love your style and how you actually tell history. Appreciate you! You’re a gentleman and scholar sir 🫡
Great work, as always! You walk a higher path, sir, and you are very appreciated. Happy New Year, Josh. Best wishes to you and your family. Love and respect from Maine ♥️ 🙌 🇺🇸
Of all the Regulators, Doc seemed to have fared the best. He was wise enough to duck out of that kind of lifestyle early on, knowing it would lead to no good.
Young Guns was surprisingly accurate to the accepted chain of events that turned Billy the Kid into one of the most well known american gunfighters/outlaws of all time.
Happy New Eve Josh. What better way to start the new year with a new episode of The Wild West Extravaganza. Thanks for the shoutout on my opinion of what would have happened to Billy The Kid.
I have spent many of hours listing to the history of the 1800 from around the U.S. One thing that stands out to me is that the line between law enforcement and criminals is nonexistence, And here in 2025, it is still the same.
Been a minute since I tracked ya back down; lost my old account (somehow!?!), so just glad to be here again. Mainly just wanted to say, Merry Christmas mi amigo, and a very Happy New Year! Hope health, wealth, and success follow y’all into 2025! 🤙🏻🤙🏻 keep killing it brother!
Hold up. That was such a casual mention of a whole ass cheese factory and then we just moved on quicker than a Jamaican in a bobsled. Love you, Josh! 😘
Imagine all these guys at 8-10 years old. Most can't imagine what they'll be doing in 5 years or 10. I never imagined myself where I am.. and I remember being 10, riding horses running feral on the farm lol. I bet you never imagined doing a RUclips channel. Some of them lived a lot longer than I thought. Like Wyatt Earp.. imagine going over ALL THOSE memories!😮
I never understood why Billy and his buddies didn't just leave the terrority. They could have just disappeared, changed their names, and lived normal lives. They could have gone to Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, or California and just blended in with the rest of the people migrating west. Nobody would have recognized them. It's not like they had internet and radio communication back then.
Well of all the dangnabinest of getting history wrong, you Josh have put it right! And now I won't go around talkin nonsense anymore. I thought Doc was kilt when he was riding with the Kid. Teach me to believe Hollywood again. This new understanding really flips my lid. Pisses me off a bit also. I count myself a bit of a cowboy buff so how did I not know this?He lived to be a ripe old man. Glad to hear it too. Doc had sand. Kinda wish he had wrote that biography though, ya know? Set some things straight. Love your show since the first time I heard it. That first one tho I thought you were Danny McBride..you two sound alike.. Thanks to all involved also.🤠🤝
say josh, of all the people you've done an episode for, do you think any of them could live in this modern world without killing anyone? and who's your favorite person that you've done so far?
Sure, I think mostly we're a product of our circumstances. If Jesse James was born in Ohio in 1986 he'd probably be an electrician with a really cool Pokémon collection. Who's my favorite person? Ah, too hard to pick!
Quick question about Jw Bells death by Billy on the steps inside the courthouse. Pat Garrett claimed that JW Bell was shot at the bottom of the stairs, but the blood was found at the top of the stairs. There was even statement of someone cleaning the blood at the top of the stairs, if that’s true why would Pat Garrett lie about it?
Great question! I think first you'd have to establish that Garrett lied. If he wasn't there when Bell was shot, then how would Garrett know the details? The only way he could have possibly learned any details is from taking statements from others who were actually there. Perhaps one of the knowingly lied or just got their details mixed up. I'm forever fascinated by the limits of human memory. Ask any police officer and they'll tell you that they can take five statements from witnesses and all five statements will differ. When a witness on the stand gets a detail wrong are they lying or misremembering? Or could it be possible that Bell and the Kid fought at the top of the stairs? Perhaps Billy hit Bell over the head with those cuffs. Head wounds bleed quiet a bit. Perhaps Bell then fell down the stairs, or ran down the stairs, and that's when Billy shot him? I'm not saying that's the case but it could explain the blood at the top of the stairs as well as Garrett's claim.
I once did some business with a man who went by what some told me was an alias, and that his real name was Coe. He was a tough fellow, one who had done recon for long periods behind enemy lines as a Marine in Vietnam. Certainly not one to be messed with but easy if you got along with him. Far as I'm aware, he had no daughters for whom he might scare off potential suitors, still I find myself wondering if he was related to Frank Coe... 😁
Any unknown Wild West towns that have epic history? Like a character unto itself. We know Deadwood, but if the walls could speak kinda thing? What are some great Wild West towns still exist? I wish Cut’N’Shoot, TX had a cool history, mostly just sad though.
Couple of months go travel up to Quanah Texas to see sons Grandparents stop in at the Fort Griffin Historic site at Albany very interesting museum. The list of famous outlaws and lawmen that lit there is amazing considering its not the most well known wild west town Highly recommend to stop in
