Funny, when I told a bud of mine (who has lived all his life in Santa Monica, btw) that I am such a big fan of Warren and wished I lived there in L.A., too, he called him "the most overrated performer" .. Oh well ..

I wish someone could put together something like "Warren's Guide to L.A.", showing the location of all the spots there mentioned in his songs (e.g. Echo Park, Pioneer Chicken, L'ermitage, the Hyatt House, etc.). Would be fun to follow it while taking a visit to L.A.

He wrote great songs and had a marvelous, twisted sense of humor. This may be his funniest song and there a lots to choose from.
