How come all of the reboot games that I have played always have a robot as the final boss? First robot SpongeBob and then Toc-Man?
(Warning, this is a very very large comment, so read only if interested) In my honest. (and probably unpopular opinion), The rehydrated one straight up sucks. It is inferior to the original. All the animations are so stiff and lifeless. And yes, I know as a robot, it should make sense, but the original one had smooth and cartoon physics just like the show. For instance, when it does the side chop attack, the whole robot wobbles back and forth for a second due to the sudden stop of motion. The new one, doesn't have that. You can't see the second phase of the robot in it's eyes. They removed the stun animation of the robot hitting itself in the face. The attacks are way slower or practically instant after giving you loads of time to get away and don't feel that impactful. The KAH- RAH- TAE! sound effect doesn't repeat. And because I'm petty, I even counted and realize that in the original, the robot gets stunned and you have to deal with robo plankton 3 times. However in the remake, that happens only 2 times. They literally removed a robo plankton part. The music in the remake is way quieter (although I will admit that may just be the audio settings they chose so I won't count that). And after you take out the robot's brain and complete phase 2, the new one's animation of getting spongebob and robo plankton out of it's "ears" is terrible. It literally looks like a png being slid left to right to me. And when it finally falls over for good, it pretty much does it instantly. Even the sound effects and the rest of the cutscene are out of synch. Whereas the original was slower and more impactful and had the deflated anchor arms in a more realistic pose rather than flat and down on the ground and had the sound effects for everything synched. And the new one doesn't even look at the anchor arms while their deflating like the original. I know that this game was rushed. But man did they drop the ball on this remake in my opinion. I obviously know it won't ever happen, but I hope another company decides to remake this game and makes it as faithful to the original as possible. Full budget, no rushed times, readded content, spongebob's military helmet, etc. This remake may technically look better, but I would still much rather play the original than this any day. And no, I didn't let my bias towards growing up playing the original influence my opinion. I just wanted to point out the flaws because I expected this to be just as good as the original, if not better when this remake was announced
Has anyone else noticed that there are sounds in the background in the original game that aren't in the remaster?
Yes, me too. But i also found out that the KahRahTea Sound is original. It was played three times (every KahRahTea-part one) insteed of once in the remake.
The new Spongebot model is nice but nothing parts me from the original. The flow of the fight in the remaster felt very stiff while the original was smooth and fluent.

It’s a robot. It’s not meant to be smooth and fluent. While I do enjoy the smoothness, I like the new one much more
I now think this boss fight helped inspire Cuphead
Something about the new Spongetron looks more creepy than the original.
