    Absolutely loved this video! Thank you so much!!! Watching your normally very active little one become extremely sluggish and not feeling very well definitely hurts a moms heart. Appreciate you going over how the body works and talking about NATURAL remedies instead of just pumping medicine in our bodies.

    Thanks so much to help me understand the fever, and how work. Definitely you come over so easily to understand. The pediatrician has to be like you more specific and not just said things like, is jus a cold keep keep baby hydrated and succión the nose ‘ but if they time to explain better like a paren can be helpful with sick babies and not making their virus copies. God bless you

    I’m wondering if you can speak to sleep and fevers. My child spikes the fever at night. Should I strip him down to a diaper? Give him meds? He isn’t sleeping or napping well when he has a fever because he’s so uncomfortable (likely from ear or throat pain). Thanks 🙏

    • @ana-mariatemplemd
      @ana-mariatemplemd  2 года назад

      Fevers come at night because that’s when the immune system activates and does it’s job. Strip him down. And if he can’t sleep, and you have tried the natural remedies in the second video. Then ok to do fever reducers

    Hii !! So usually the seizur happens before we give fever medicine or after ??
    As my kid ( 3 years old) never every had any kind of seizurs because usually we use medicine lightly ( above 38.5) !! However today we decided to skip the medicine all together since morning fever is 39.5,
    at night before bed she was soo tired we gave her medicine so she can sleep good, and half an hour later a small short sezuir happened that woke her up from her sleep, Im confused could it possibly be from the medicine !! And because the fever was high for long and suddenly we gave fever reducer !

      I am sorry that happened. Though not common, seizures can happen during a febrile illness. The meds did not cause it. Inflammation from the illnesses causes it. Which is my point, febrile seizures happen with Meds or no meds. It’s not because you allowed her body to have fever for the day.

    Thank you! So if my child is 105.4 like this morning, is very tired but is responding , peeing and drinking, should i just wait and not give fever reducer? Thanks!

      I would do a cool bath. Or cool washcloths, popsicles, and monitor.

    Hello Doc, Like you said Fever is body mechanism to fight virus, so we do want fever to kill them, but how do we manage fever if kid get febrile seizure, my 3.5 yr old got febrile seizures in 3 out 4 different occasions(usualy onset of fever), so we try to give him fever reducers as soon as we see signs of fever. Any better way to manage it this? Pediatricians have just just continue giving tylenol and ibuprofen.

      It’s tricky. If febrile sz happen at onset of fever as they usually do, you can’t time them. Not sure how helpful Motrin/Tylenol are. I have lots of natural remedies to reduce fever

    So what about febrile seizures? It's so frustrating the doctors only solution is to continually give fever reducers which I hate doing. My daughter gets febrile seizures too but it's not at the onset, it's usually after having the fever for a while so there is no way of knowing when or if it will happen. Then she stays sick for so long because of the reducers. It doesn't feel right but I feel stuck giving her the reducers. Is there any other solutions

    What if a fever lasts for over a day at 103? And child is still drinking but laying around. Still okay to not lower? And is it also true that some children just run higher fevers than others? My son always runs 103-104 every time he gets a virus while my daughter never runs that high at all

    • @ana-mariatemplemd
      @ana-mariatemplemd  2 года назад +1

      Okay to let it ride. At most it will run for 2-3 days at 103-104 tops when we don’t use fever reducers.

      @@ana-mariatemplemd thanks a lot!! What about st night though? I never lower a fever during the day but at night when my child is tossing and whining and not sleeping well it’s hard not to lower. Because I know they need sleep In order to fight it off better. What’s
      Your Thoughts on that?
