    I have two of these (slightly different as bought at different times, but basically the same) and I often use them as clamps for panel glue-ups or long parts. They are great value for money.

      Great to hear, I do not much glu-ups here so I left that part it of the video, good to hear it works for you, and yes for the small price they are good to have 👌

      They do not provide enough clamping force for a quality glue up. Better off with pipe clamps. This only useful as a straight edge IMO.

    • @quirkygreece
      @quirkygreece 3 месяца назад +1

      @@wayward-saint I find them fine for gluing up - I don’t need a whole load of pressure, once I get squeeze out I stop.
      No point in putting the glue in if you’re going to squeeze most of it out again.

      Sometimes they also do sell this pipe clamps, I didn't make it to buy them from parkside, they are always quite quickly sold out

      @@quirkygreece use a pipe clamp to squeeze it tight enough you can’t even see the seem. There’s plenty of glue left to hold. If you squeeze out too much just use less glue.

    Did buy the ferrule crimping kit bargain at £14 - worth it for the tool alone!

    It's a good idea but too short for sheet width of 1200 which is the minimum sheet size.

    • @DennisDIY
      @DennisDIY  3 месяца назад +1

      True I should have mention it in the video, max clamp size is 101cm, so the sheets 120 or 122 won't fit

    • @DennisDIY
      @DennisDIY  3 месяца назад

      Here it's most of the time 122, when ordering this one I had the same idea.. And then it turned out it was only 100

    Its a straight edge clamp for trimming doors to size you run your skill saw along the edge the clamp is the width of a door other tool brands make them usually come in 2 sizes

    Seen these and bought one, dimensions said just over 120cm and made it seem like it was clamp distance when in reality it’s too small for 8x4 sheets so haven’t really used it which is a shame

    • @DennisDIY
      @DennisDIY  3 месяца назад

      I did see they have difrent dimensions, mine is 120, and for clamping it fits only a sheet of 101.
      But there are also ones that are smaller

    • @BenEyah
      @BenEyah 3 месяца назад +2

      @@DennisDIY and that’s the issue, I bought it with the thinking it was 120cm clamping capacity with it been the more focused on number but then somewhere else in smaller writing says 101cm clamp capacity which is the more important number, ‘cause why would the overall length of it be more important that it’s intended use size

    They don’t bloody work. The clamp action needs to be stronger.

    • @DennisDIY
      @DennisDIY  3 месяца назад

      Well, I don't have that issue here as you can see.

    • @wayward-saint

      Totally agree. The clamp is weak. It’s a fine straight edge though.

    • @DennisDIY
      @DennisDIY  3 месяца назад +1

      As I mentioned, I have no problem with it, it's just good as a guide rail, working fine on the circular and jigsaw, I not have bene using it for gluing or clamp stuff together to hold.
      But for this purpose it's just fine.

      I often think the same but there's a knack to getting it tight, no idea what it is but if I fiddle with it eventually I get it tight.
