I've only recently come across your channel and I am now working my way through your older videos. I love how honest you are in this video and in fact all of your videos. My hubby and I bought our first campervan in November, so are very new to this and your videos are really helpful. You spent your honeymoon in Edinburgh where I grew up and we sent our honeymoon in Cornwall where you grew up! We live in Kent and plan on taking the campervan down to Cornwall very soon, we just need to sort out some heating! Keep up the great work 🙂

Just posted on 1st vid, new sub perusing your playlist. I'm glad you chose van life vids bc those are huge here in the states! Many ppl here don't start out w/homes + their vans - they often sell everything & hit the road. Then, once viewership takes off & $ starts rolling in w/sponsors, they can afford a house somewhere. Many end up w/cabins, tiny homes, or other modest homes, then film setting up & renovating them. I especially love van life bc of the freedom to go anywhere, + going stealth. There's something freeing & exciting about sleeping right next to traffic or ppl, & no one has a clue that you're inside sleeping, watching vids, cooking, & living a kind of secretive life. That's thrilling to me, & I hope you post lots more content like your last vid! So glad YT recommended your channel
Well I'm a average joe, a mrs, and kid, what got me subscribed was all these tips on camping areas in Cornwall to the point of as soon it gets a little warmer ( and the vans done!) I'm doing South Wales then into Cornwall and that's because of youtubers like yourself mate! All the best

I agree with all of this! My subs are creeping up slowly and I know it’s because I’m inconsistent in both posting and content. Like you say about your own content in this video, my best produced videos also haven’t made much difference at all to my viewing numbers - I’ve just got lucky with some.

There are many people who really are struggling financially and it’s refreshing to watch videos about life camping without spending a fortune I personally can identify with that . I’m disappointed that you haven’t got thousands more subscribers because you surely deserve them please keep them coming for us who chill with a cold beer and smile

Thanks for making this channel, I found it just after buying my own van in January 2023, ironically also a Vivaro. I love to mix of adventures, van stuff, snorkelling and the like. I'm in landlocked Birmingham so it's great to see parts of Cornwall and set targets for trips.

Just discovered your channel today and already subscribed. Only watched a few of your van camping videos so far but enjoying them and will watch more. Haven't got it any more sadly but my friend and I used my dad's van for camping trips. It was a long wheelbase Caddy which he turned into a basic sleeper van. We did the full North Coast 500 route as well as a trip round Wales, another couple of Scotland trips and a few round Northern England. She is now planning on getting a van to convert so we can plan more trips. Keep up the great work with your videos.

Came across your channel a couple of hours ago and myself and my wife really enjoy them.
I can also relate to this video in particular, I am a small time RUclipsr, 3 years and like yourself changed format a couple of times.
Some of my favorite videos that I have made have the lowest views but I thoroughly enjoyed doing them.

Hi Nigel, yes somethings you feel like giving up but it does pay to just keep going. The way I looked at it was if I quit now have a wasted 3 years of my life making videos? The answer is no because at least I’ve made some memories but I’ve had a large surge recently so it is starting to pay off thankfully. Looe is lovely by the way 😊

@@LoveSundays and you inspired me. I’m not particularly extrovert so thought going down on my own because the mes was away would be be boring. But then your adventures show you can have great times on your own - you kind of have to push yourself out of you comfort zone and that’s what you do so well. Keep going because you will find that magic formula. Maybe some collaborations with other You Tube Channels. Cover boardmasters or something similar. Cornwall will get more exposure as people have found out about the secret gem j the last few years. Falmouth beaches were rammed this weekend!!

Relieved to know you are not giving up because it would be a real shame to no longer have any "love Sundays" to watch. You videos are original, easy to watch, relaxing and just awesome, and no matter what you do I'm always entertained mate. It must be difficult and stressful for you though trying to not only think of what to film, but also edit the video and then upload weekly. Take that pressure away by uploading less often but don't give up! Sometimes less is more mate. Keep them coming though Mr D!!!! 💙

RUclips is a game, it’s all about finding a niche and learning what works with thumbnail’s and titles and also like you said you need to find out what people want to watch and keep making the same sort of videos.
I’ve been doing it over 4 years now, doubling down on tech and action cameras the last year or so has really seen my channel grow. 650 videos and counting, I’ll never stop

I watch a lot of youtube because it’s generally more interesting than TV and i have noticed a lot of RUclipsrs in the same situation as you and they claim that it falls back to the RUclips algorithm. Ii your videos are not recommended to people then you wont get the views however also bear in mind that there are so many people all trying to do the same thing that it does kind of get difficult to attract views, I subscribe to a lot of channels of interest to me but that doesn’t mean that i have time to watch every video that pops up on my alerts. A RUclips singer i’m subscribed to has 580k subscribers and releases 1 very short music video per month yet other people release on a far more regular basis but have a fraction of the subscribers/views, i’m not sure if it’s the algorithm or the topic of the channel.
I was kinda worried for a mo you keep em coming and in your own time please.

Congratulations on 200!! That's some achievement. Your plan for going forward sounds pretty good: when you have a good subject you want to upload, go for it. And if you want to take a break or don't feel "inspired": just take a break. As a bit of encouragement, I really love all your videos, and I'm sure many others do too. Like you said, it's almost like I'm there with you. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Yes I made this video then 2 months later I started to get some views. All I can say is I’m so glad I didn’t quit. Just keep going and it will happen. Stay positive make a video learn from it make the next one better and repeat 😊 best of luck

That’s good that you now want to come and visit Cornwall. The octopus population down here is still very small but the numbers are increasing. It’s fairly rare for them to come into shallow waters in the day time anyway so tell her not too worry but they would be so scared of humans if they say you they would just ink and swim away

Hi and thanks for producing this video. A lot of what you've said in this video I can really appreciate. So much of it applies to me. The questioning of why does one make videos to find it's only had a couple of hundred views? Who are the videos for? Should it be continued? Like you, I produce videos to show where I've been, what I've done and to act as a legacy of me for my family and potential future family see me for what I am, or when I'm no longer here, was. I've been pointed your way through a friend and I'm glad he did. Working through your 200+ videos now. ATB Andy
I think for me at the time I just didn’t understand why the 2000 odd subs I had at the time weren’t coming back every week and I was only getting 600 odd views. I think at the beginning when you grow slowly over time a lot of the early viewers just forget the channel exists or even remember they’re subbed to the channel. The moral of this story however is never give up. Just keep going and it will happen because 2 months after this video I had a video get 1.5 million views and the channel exploded. But if I had given up when I made this vid that would have never happens. My only advise would be keep an eye on your analytics and learn what keeps your viewers interested in you videos and cut the stuff they don’t watch. All the best Andy 👍

I’ve just come across your channel and subscribed. Really enjoying your videos. Also gives us a bit of hope that we may get more subscribers eventually 😂. I’ll never work it out. We get a few hundred views normally then our last one got 8k and still only have 237 subscribers 😂. Keep up the good work

Good to hear you are not giving up! I've been making videos for 5 years and my average watch less than 50. It is very depressing when you make a video you are proud of but nobody watches. Then I put up a short of a cat and it gets thousands of views.

The pressure of getting a video out every week must be quite tough to cope with for 2 1/2 years. The planning, filming and editing take so many hours that by the time you upload 1 it is time to start the next one. I enjoy your varied content mate and appreciate all the work.

Your videos are great, don't give up, you give a lot of viewers enjoyment, an escapement for a few minutes, yes it does take a lot your time in producing your videos but you give a lot of enjoyment to many many people who are unable to do activities you do and you promote beautiful Cornwall.

I just think RUclips needs to see more engagement and then pushes the channel further which is finally happening for me. I work a full time job have a wife to keep happy too. I don’t know where I find the time to not only film but edit these videos but I just make time I guess.
@@LoveSundays I can do videos, I just can't find the time to edit etc. I too have a wife & kids, take a look at North Devon 2021 its not perfect, but I did the best I could with the time I had, plus editing software. Keep going.

Competition is tough and attention spans are short. If you have the personality (and you have) you will attract an audience.

I reckon people subscribe sometimes when they are interested in a specific subject eg snorkelling but when you post a video of say van conversion or a secret beach they don't bother watching even though they subscribe because that particular subject doesn't interest them. I've noticed this from my own analytics. Just a thought. 🤔
Yes I think you’re right Sid. My channel has got some many aspects to it but I’ve realised there has to be one constant. Something that comes back in every episode. Like I said in this video I want my channel to be about adventure whether that’s snorkelling camping paddle boarding etc. I just need my audience to be onboard with that and I’m lucky that I have 600 returning viewers each week. The truth of the matter is Cornwall is a very small niech so it’s time to spread my wings. I’m not saying I’m leaving Cornwall but my videos need to not be just about that

I hear you dude, nothing more deflating than an epic vlog and the algorithm does not show it, yet a random vlog gets shown and gets thousands of views. We have just done 100 vlogs. What's odd though, on my bushcraft channel I made 3 videos and in 3 videos I have over 2k subs in like 1 weeks of making content. Most videos have 25-55k views or more etc. Yet this channel is over 1 year old and it's only got 724 subs. Yet when people find it, they are baffled at why we only have that amount of subs when the content in epic. I know we sware quite a bit and that stops videos been shown. I also have a paranormal based channel, only a few videos and 13k subs. It's messed up. But keep doing it, keep smashing it. 🤙 Stevie

I noticed the shirtless thumbnail gained 8k - nice - and some eye-grabbing titled ones gained 5k, 6k etc.
So, is there a secret or it's internet viral madness, followed by solid growth & consistent, honest & interesting content? Dunno, but I think you're good at it, keep going IF you enjoy it.
This video was made about 2 months before I started gaining decent traction. I’m so glad I didn’t give up. It just goes to show that it’s never a good time to quit RUclips 😂
