there's something so hilarious about Peach point blank eviscerating rabbids with a flame shotgun
I'm actually surprised, I've been seeing a lot of flak with the game and honestly I agreed, but looking at actual gameplay... This doesn't seem that bad. In fact it seems kinda fun.
Justin Wood I actually feel confident in preordering this game.
It's cause it is a huge blatant rip off of XCOM.Not "oh similar style and mechanic" like Battlefield compared to CoD.It is literally copying a LOT of the same things.
ILYSNAF And I enjoy XCOM.
You act like a 1000 turn based strategy games weren't made before xcom... who cares games that are similar to other games can still be fun.
The game got a lot of flak before E3, but when they actually demoed it at Ubisoft's press conference, I think a lot of people changed their opinions.
Glad jack and Micheal, resident Nintendo man, Jones could be with us on this crossover occasion. And Its always great it see matt in videos and Jeremy backseat excessively.

It is very interesting how the two franchises actually were able to mesh decently into one game.

I get the X-Com comparison, but did nobody notice that the sound that plays when Luigi activates one of his powers is the same sound that plays when you activate the night vision spell in Dark Messiah of Might & Magic?

No one asked for this game to happen but for some reason I really want it.
People are saying it's just an Xcom clone, someone who knows about game genres would know it's called a turn-based tactical/strategic rpg (which is my favorite genre, next to simulator rpgs) and it's not mutually exclusive to Xcom, in fact, Xcom isn't even the first game to utilize this genre and there are at least a dozen of other games that are within that genre. So settle down already, like geez I get it you love Xcom.
ChaoticCC no. Nothing exists beyond one defining game in each genre. Wow is the only MMORPG, Starcraft is the only RTS, and XCOM is the only TBTSRPG.

My same thought, when I first seen it I thought "oh look, a Mario themed Tactical RPG". Not "OMG they ripped off XCOM!" It's like people forget more than one game can fit into a genre.

Oh wow, Luigi as a sniper looks pretty damn over-powered. Just seeing him snipe off that cactus Rabbid mid-air was like watching a turret completely smoke someone who tried to look cool. It was great to witness.
mario + rabbids is going to be one of those games that sound so fucking stupid but turns out to be great

I can't believe how the missed the red line when using that car thing which Obviously shows the path it is going to take ! First time it showed that it was stopping before the gap and the second time it showed it going through the pipe...
I like X-COM, and I like Super Mario, but I fucking DESPISE Rabbids. Rabbids are the Minions of the video game world.
This is actually more like Chroma Squad as the characters could throw each other forward. Which Chroma Squad is still down the core as X-Com, just X-Com you can't throw your buddies. Nice luck guys, made the video more fun to see a comeback.
I really want to see more of this. This game looks top. I don't even like Rabbids.

This game is a lot better than I thought it would be.
So yeah, I LOVE Xcom. Enemy Unknown, Enemy Within, Xcom 2, looking forward to 2's DLC.
And yet... This honestly looks pretty fun itself. There's just enough different (mostly in the jump boosts) to make it looks distinct enough from Xcom that I'm sure playing it will be a fun experience.

Not gonna lie, I fully expected this to be a hybrid Smash Brothers / Splatoon style game when I saw the artwork... and I was not interested. I am very grateful that it is a turn based squad game.
Although, I'm a bit upset that such a fun looking game is being released for the Switch when I already can't afford to buy all of the good games on the console. :p

omg.. its kinda frustrating seeming them flub some moves. like moving Luigi in close range, or not sending the car though the tunnel even tho it CLEARLY SHOWS they can do it.
