The female bandicoot in the first game is actually Tawna Bandicoot who was removed from the games after the first game because Universal Studio though she was to sexualized and wanted her redesigned to be family friendly. Naughty Dog did not wish to redesign her so they removed her, and eventually made Coco Bandicoot, his sister, so Crash then could have a family friendly ally. Only other game Tawna appears in is a game called "Crash Boom Bang!".
It was explained on Naughty Dog's old website that her general disappearance in the series was due to her leaving Crash for Pinstripe not long after the events of the first game. This was also shown in a Japanese comic made for Crash in Japan. Though it technically is not canon, let alone lacks logic behind it, it gives at least some form of reason why she up and disappeared. Of course you can come up with really anything to decide the fate of Tawna after the first game.

Actually that is not Tawna Bandicoot. The girl you are thinking of is actually called Isabella. In CTR there are four winning circle girls, Megumi, Liz, Ami, and then finally the Tawna look like responsible for being the trophy girl if Crash or Coco win a race, Isabella.

True she has brief appearances like that through a few games. The picture as you mentioned in Warped, Wrath of Cortex again uses an image on the fireplace showing her, in Twinsanity there is an image of her on the sign of Moulin Cortex, and Mind over Mutant Crash has a poster of her in his house. However physically she has only ever been in two games, the first game and Crash Boom Bang!.
This throws me back to when I was 5 and had to watch my brothers play because they wouldn't give me the controller.

Actually Michael, the intro cutscene was in the first game, and it's almost exactly the same. The only things they added in Crash 1 remastered are the ability to play as Coco, and the time relics on every level.

Hanako is best girl it's better bc you don't need to find and beat a female Bandicoot stage or a boss to save. Not to mention of you can over you go ALLLLL the way back to the last save on the original. In this one you can save any time and just start at the level you died on.

yeah I had noted that too in a comment but there where 3 openings in that wall of spikes so maybe not, they definitely looked suspicious.
Thats literally what its for, at about 39:00 you can jump over the back wall, get some boxes, and skip most of that section by running right and jumping back over at about 39:43
i love that at 39:15 they start talking about the "up and down" depth at the spot where they could have jumped over the wall to the hidden path X'D

I actually got the completion in Hog Wild for doing the same thing these guys did, throwing Crash headfirst into the portal and gem.

I remember I couldn't get through the boulder level, when I was a kid. The running toward the screen and the boulder made me panic too much. I then found, in the Scholastic Book Fair, a book with Playstation Cheats, Crash specifically. It was like a paragraph of Squares, X's, O's and Triangles. That was the only way I could get past the boulder level.
i havent seen or played this game since I was 7 and its so relieving to see full grown adults struggling just as much as my 7 year old self did.
Just so you guys know. The woman Bandicoot is Tawna, The evil scientist that isn't Cortex is Dr N. Brio. Also there is a checkpointless sort of mode, it's called time trial mode. But besides all that, the gameplay is pretty great.
Also another side note: I currently have all the trophies in Crash 1 (excluding doing the DLC level time trial(currently free dlc as of this video releasing)) and I gotta say, some of the levels are an absolute pain to complete on time trial or even getting colored gems are just a pain so if you want to get all trophies of any of the Crash games. Good Luck from a trophy hunter, cause that ain't easy at all. PSN: DrFoxmanz

I agree with Jeremy. I'm still hoping for a remaster of the original Spyro Trilogy (the good ones). I would buy a PS4 just for that. Even though I still own the original 3 PS1 Spyro's, and still play them. 😂😂

Coco is crash's sister. Tawna is the tall female bandicoot that appears in the bonus levels.

Michael getting impatient at the end was the best. Also, judging from their comments, it seems they don't remember that you had to not die in addition to getting all of the boxes to get a gem in any level. It absolutely made the first Crash game of the three the hardest in my opinion. Well, except for getting all 30 platinum relics in the third for 105% completion, fuck that. By some miracle I actually pulled it off when I was younger.

You know, you're not bad at all playing this game Michael. Seriously, this is generally considered a really hard game and you're handling it like a champ! I'd love to see you keep playing through all three games with Gavin, Jack, and Jeremy on mic!
Michael, during the three flame spot at the end of Native Fortress, there was a space in the spike wall behind that you could have jumped to.
In a sense, the levels in Crash 1 that require you to get all boxes and never die are 'checkpointless' to get their colored gems. (They're actually worse than just checkpointless because the checkpoint boxes still exist, count as needed to be broken, and make it so if you die after getting one you have to exit out of the level and reenter it to try again).
I remember as a kid the only hack I knew if when you get to the baby polar bear portal you want to jump on his head a few times and you get like 30 extra lives lmao.
Please play through all the games. Its so much fun to watch ya'll play this.
Also Jeremy, that's not Coco. That's just some random bandicoot Cortex has in captivity. Coco is Crash's lil sister who has a laptop & is now playable in all the Crash games in the trilogy
She's not random. She's Tawna Bandicoot but after the first game Naughty Dog removed her due to Universal pushing for her to be redesigned because they found her to be too inappropriate for a family game. Naughty Dog did not like the redesign at all so they just removed her entirely. This eventually of course led to Coco being made instead to give Crash a more family friendly ally.

I remember all these levels. The worst part was doing something amazing and saving a death to only go an fall of a ledge like and idiot - some many memories, many rage quitting memories as well!

Those "Gems" get filled in when you acquire that colour gem later in the game. Some levels you must finish without dying & get all boxes

I think Michael did exceptional at this game. Much better than I, anyhow. Must be those years of Rage Quit experience. Can't wait for more! Hope you do the trilogy, but understand if you don't (that would be a loong series).

As a warning, I am about to do somewhat of a spiel about the Mario princesses:
The the woman in the original Donkey Kong was Pauline, who currently only exists in the Mario vs Donkey Kong series and apparently Super Mario Odyssey.
Peach has been the princess since the original Super Mario Brothers and is the same one today.
Daisy was the princess in Super Mario Land on the Game Boy, mainly because that game didn't take place in the Mushroom Kingdom, but a different place called Sarasaland. That was her only appearance until Mario Tennis, when they needed a partner for Peach. Really, she only exists currently for the same reasons Waluigi does.
I'm glad Michael is playing this. Makes it more enjoyable!

Timing a jump for specific heights is actually pretty easy. Tap jump to go one block up, hold jump to go two blocks up. (and, obviously, dont press jump to hit the ground level)

To be fair, doing the full five jumps on the bouncy crates takes an obnoxious amount of time, lol. Especially if you do it on every single one. Kind of kills the momentum.
Ok guys, we need to band together and get Michael to play through Crash4. Regular videos will be them playing on retro mode and watching them do the purple relics will be the true successor to rage quit.

That last level where Michael started getting pissed off and impatient was the same place my boyfriend and I could not fucking get passed it. We spent an hour and a half trying to get past it with a lot of dying and having to redo the level eventually to give up and try again another day
