I very much enjoyed your commentary and documentation of the vehicle and the process. This Challenger is gorgeous and in amazing shape. I would guess that she was a garage queen the majority of her life. This video also answered my question as to whether or not my bird would in the tanks. Even with the nose radiator fan etc removed she would definitely be too long. I would need to cut the frame at the firewall, and even then I believe she would be a tight fit. Thank you for another awesome video, I pray that you had an awesome and very much deserved vacation.🙏💜
@@mikeallmon1 With how rusted out they usually are it'd almost make you think that instead of any kind of rust protection they sent the things out the door with a wish and a prayer and called it a day with that. It's a shame with Mopars having at times low production numbers to begin with. Probably speaks to why they're so valuable these days.
This car is really well preserved and has few spots of corrosion, and it's really cool to see the condition it came in and how it looked after the baths. Who knows, maybe older ones like this will show up to take a bath.
The full walk around before and commenting is for me a plus...keep that portion in the videos. for a vinyl top car that I am assuming has lived its life in the PNW that top and edges looked great. I had a 66 Buick years ago...nice clean vinyl top car...took it apart...the vinyl was the only thing keeping it dry!! Sail panels and the roof header were all but gone. I love the variety of cars you show...keep up the great work!!
I enjoyed this video very much, it was great start to finish. I like watching you improve as a content provider. What a great car too. Definitely worth saving. That red paint is difficult at best isn't it. Thanks for taking the time to provide these vids.
Thank you! That really means a lot. And I appreciate you taking your time and watching my videos. I’m glad you enjoy them. Red paint is always hard for some reason. Same with black. Must be something with the pigments or something.
I have been watching your content for a while now and I enjoy seeing the whole process and enjoy the commentary to learn a bit about the process for future knowledge if I have a project car I may want to restore and if this level of treatment is worthwhile. I realize that the editing and stuff takes time, but I do appreciate it and watch the whole videos. Keep up the good work
I actually enjoy the before and after. It makes it more enjoyable to know more about the body before you dip it and then comparatively what it's like after. Please keep up the good work and I look forward to the next video.
I think it’s best to see the before and after, this way we know what to expect if we bring you one of our loved relics to dip. Thanks for a great video.
Thanks for showing the 2nd alkaline dip! Always satisfying watching those stubborn areas of paint and bondo that the first blast can’t get finally get cleaned down to bare metal.
You commentary is excellent and it is an education in itself. A silent Video is not a good vid. We do need to know how the job is progressing. ALL successful RUclipsrs have one thing in common, they can tell a story. You do that very well. Your presentation is spot on, and it is very therapeutic to see a car going back to bare metal.
I like it when you talk about the car before submerging it and when you finish with it too. I always like to know a little about where it comes from. You're doing it right!
Definitely like the walk through before and the commentary after it’s finished. Any thing you can do to provide context to the dip and the brand of car is always fun. Nobody likes to watch paint dry, but we love to see it removed! LOL.
I found nothing wrong with this format that you used this time you should always use them as you see fit because either way you look at it I thoroughly enjoy all of what you do whether you do commentaries or not it doesn't matter you are still the best stripper I have seen, thanks for all of the content you show.
Very interesting to watch. Very satisfying to see the body all cleaned up and ready to be restored. Your commentary is very good, especially your evaluation at the end.
I like the before and after, and you walking us thru it before and after was excellent! Keep doing it! Was that the original roof? It just looks so odd the way the weld lines were. Do you ever get to see any of the cars after they've been rebuilt?
Thank you! I was wondering the same thing. Those welds definitely don’t look factory and they were sealed with filler. I’m In touch with a few people that will send me some pictures when they are done. A lot of the cars I’ve dipped since I started aren’t finished yet. One guy just sent his bronco that we dipped off to get painted today! He’s going to send me pics when it’s done.
The more information you provide the best for us, since understanding what makes happen what we are seeing is, at least for me, very important. If you wish, you can go even deeper on the details, with PH, temperatures and so on. Thanks for sharing, people like you make the world go to bed at the end of the day a bit less dumber than when we left it in the morning.
I suspect those quarters were replaced in the past. My clue is the seams at 12:24 & 12:52. No way that would be factory done. If it was the seam would have been lower at the belt line. That way you would not have to stamp seperate quarters for hardtops and convertibles. Thx for the vid.
Yes please to your discussion. It makes it more interesting. It would also be cool to see any videos you have to repairs after dip, build and finished cars, even if you refer to other RUclips channels, please. Thank you.
I really like the walk around you do. I get a inclusive view of the entire job. The narration is very informative. Keep these going. Just skimming over quickly there is a bit of a loss in the video. 👍
Wow, this one wasn't just Mostly Old Parts and Rust :) Pretty clean example - I hope they restore it proper. Thanks - fun watching cars get stripped to bare metal.
continue doing your commentary and whatever you think is necessary , I like these videos and wish you would give a commentary on what happens to the debris that comes off as well as how you clean the tanks of anything that falls to the bottom or rises to the top thanks for great content
I have nothing to add mate. Just keep doing what your doing 🤷♂️😀👍 Personally, I'm here to watch cars get dipped, so i skip the odd parts episodes. I used to work for the ministry of defence in the 90's, and we used to dip assorted armoured vehicles. Not as interesting as what you guys do in my opinion! 😅 Carry on. Greetings from the UK 👋 Oh, just to add why i watch your channel. It's kind of therapeutic, watching the transformation. It's a must see what happens and totally addictive experience.
@@minute_of_dangle cool... they are only suggestions.. no expectations.. obviously.. but some say I am "demanding" others to do things when I am just sharing ideas... crowd think, more powerful than think tanks...
I like the talking, before and afters are great. I would like to know more about your facility and how you dispose of waste and drains, all that nitty gritty stuff. you could voice over during the process? Love the videos
I would like it if you could get a picture of the cars as found from the customer to insert at the start of the vid. Ie, was it sitting in a field or the woods for 30 years, or was it their college car etc. Just a tiny snippet of the back story to see why people are restoring their cars.
Wow, that red paint is tough. Not sure why someone would want to paint a red challenger blue?? This process definitely shows all the covered up bondo. 👍🏻
Really like you r videos. Not too long and very on topic. Wouldnt it be great if someone offered a paint dipping service so the body could be dipped and the paint could flood all the internal cavities of the body. Would really ensure the body would last for another 100 years.
Have heard about the process but never saw it done, very cool, thank you. Was wondering if you have to prep it with something before it's transported to protect against rust forming?
wow...for a vinyl roof car, that is amazing. usually they are just swiss cheese. looks like the window gutters needs some help, and bit of the cowl, but yea the owner should be super happy
RUclips only brought you to my inflation tonight. The experience based info I'd like to hear is your appraisal of original factory paint. It looked to me that this car was originally red and that factory paint was more tenacious than most. Also I'd like to hear your assessment of how the different manufacturers attached roofs. This is the fifth video tonight and it is the only one that you removed the lead that sealed the roof seam.
Love the videos you do and would like any more information you can give so the talking is fine with me. Any back story or follow on story like the odd progress report from the restorer afterwards would be amazing. Maybe you could do a collection of follow ons with a couple pics of each car kinda thing.
That must've been a nice surprise for the owner - not much rust and straight forward with the restoration. I'm pretty sure this car was originally from either California, New Mexico or Arizona. And great job as usual. 👍👍👍
Thee questions: How long does it stay in the tank? What protective equipment do you wear? What does a typical job cost? Great vids, mesmerizing to watch!
Now that’s a car I/we would love to see when restored. How do you get rid of the paint chips, strips , and rips that go flying off these cars? That might be a cool video or short. From car to refuse
Will you e coat the body after the dipping process? It is the most important part of the process. I have had numerous body’s chemically stripped and alway follow up with e coat. Do it right.
The problem with chemical dipping a car is paint will never touch parts of the cars inner structure like inside of structural points of the car which have inner and outer panels. You would need to dip it into some sort of anti corrosion solution to reach all the places that the stripping chemical reached. Maybe hot dip galvanize the whole car?
Thank you for posting these videos, they are so much fun to watch.
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you enjoy them! I’ll keep them coming

Mopars are known as rust buckets for a reason. Looks like that car is a very solid example. Very easy repairs. Nice job.
Thank you! They are definitely some of the rustiest cars we get . Almost as bad as alfas and MGs 😂
@@minute_of_dangle It's almost like they wanted to build the cheapest cars they could while offering the highest performance!
@@RiouInsuiko yes, they made the metal thin to keep them light. their factory dipping obviously didn't work very well either..
