Yo man! I was wondering, could I put subtitles on your video, and give you credit for the video? Would you be okay with that, this was a great resound, I loved it! Thanks man!
Or go listen to the actual footage which paints a different picture. Multiple times throughout it you hear Murphy screaming for marcus to help him. You even hear the seals talking to eachother and it wasn't the 200 that Marcus claims either it was closer to 30. Even the dude who rescued him said he found him with a full kit not a round fired. Gulab is thankfully stateside now but after a decade of being hunted by the tban.
right? I can't watch most war movies, they just feel so fake. Everyone is shooting full auto for 1000s of rounds without reload, endless enemies hosing gunfire with little to no effect on the main characters, it just looks like a giant poorly done training exercise. This feels real enough to be immersed in the story. Doesn't matter that they are SEALs, it reminds us that everyone is human and enough flying bullets will kill just as easily
Damn shame the story it's based on was a recruiting ploy by NSW, they only fought 8-12 taliban, Axe probably could've been saved if he hadn't told the rescue force all his teammates were dead when he didn't know, the mission never should've been greenlit to begin with it only was because of the incompetence of the NSW officers on the ground, and the book was written for him.
The entire shoot out and sourced from the book is entrily fictitious, you can watch actual footage of the shoot out if you search it up and see for yourself, there was no more than 7-8 Taliban unit that managed to ambush these guys who went in there, ill-equipped and spotted from the moment they landed from their chopper. The entire mission was bend on failure with a high percentage of casualties. Even other Vets have spoken about the topic and the truth surrounding this controversial military special-ops mission disaster.
Love this movie. One thing I never understood was once the op was compromised, why did they not bind the 4 Afghanis together, walk them out with them until they got some type of coms and a extraction arranged, then release them once help arrived. This way you didn't have to kill "non-combatants" but they also couldn't run and get the others (like they did). I am sure there was a good reason for this in real life, it just wasn't explained in the movie or anything I have read.
Well listen to Marcus actually telling the stories. The goats came after the villagers and the goats don’t wait for the villagers. So taking the villagers would only slow them down and irl they kept their hands tied but they still got down the mountain so fast.

The real story is a testament to how insanely competent these afghans were. I remember watching an interview where a former seal explained the greatest mistake the US intelligence made was utterly underestimating the vitality and effectiveness of the afghan fighters. Many operations were planned in accordance to the belief the U.S. military was far more capable and superior in every aspect, completely negating the fact that during the latter part of the Cold War, the U.S. military armed and trained the afghan military for years to hold off the Russian invasion. And held off they did. The U.S. spared no expense when they used the afghans in their proxy war, but it ultimately backfired when the afghans, now highly armed and well trained, turned their newly formed militias toward the U.S. The gulf war that proceeded was a result of the U.S.’s attempt to “correct” that problem under the guise of “oil” and “weapons of mass destruction.” Assuming it would have been an easy task, the afghans yet again proved they were greatly underestimated just as the Russians did, and held back the U.S. invasion. The next war in Afghanistan following 9/11 was the U.S’s second attempt. As history repeats, the afghan fighters continue to hold ground. The U.S. raised a violent and deadly dog believing it would forever be loyal to them… till the dog decided it wanted no master.

Absolutely bullshit but interesting action sequence
Why are these guys pushing the talibans considering they have camo & range advantage ?

I watched it long back.
The seals in this gunfight is closing the distance after 2, 3 shots which they have no reason to as they have better guns & optics as well as camo.
IF anything they should put covering fire and break contact instead they kept on pushing.
