    I just ate two avocados, and I started seedling. Since I am in Canada and I can't keep a greenhouse, thus indoor is the only options. My first bonsai project just started. It is very exciting. I don't know anything about gardening, let alone about growing a bonsai. So, these videos are very helpful. Thanks!

      Avocado trees are fairly particular about climate, I'd start with an plant suited for indoors before you try to turn your house into an ecosphere

      Like they normally grow I'm Florida and California.. so I highly doubt you'll get any fruit, even if you manage to keep it alive for 5-10 years

      I have plants for indoor to 😁 but i am not growing avocado for the fruit. If I wanted the fruit i would buy the already mature plant 😉 experimenting with plants is alot of fun and when i can grow them from seed it make it alot cheaper

      You can put a tiny greenhouse just over your avocado seedling. It can be as simple as a 2-liter soda bottle with the bottom cut off, just plunk it down over your avocado tree. A few sticks or pieces of wire and clear plastic sheeting can also make a small greenhouse for one or a few plants, just an idea. I live in SoCal and even here, baby avocado trees can't be outside through the winter, we have maybe 15 or 20 days of near freezing weather here (I'm in the mountains) and that is enough to kill a tropical plant like an avocado, so I use greenhouses too.

    I have to say that you have a beautiful avocado plant. I have one that i have been growing and experimenting myself. I cut the stemp before it formed any leaves and the tiny roots for my plant, and submerged the wounded root in rooting hormone 🤞 and suddenly after 3 months the pit had grown 3 more stemps including leaves on the first one its about 5 months and its 3 inches. Im thinking about trimming the root back to small and the first stemp. 🤞

      @TreeVibes  3 года назад +1

      Thank you🙏🙏 i am hoping you will have great success. So far I have not touched the roots on it.
      It's in my mother's care due to I am in different country right now, but I hope it's still alive and that I can replant it and check out the roots.

      @@TreeVibes hopefully your plant is in great condition. Mines still growing. I was hoping that by cutting up the roots a little bit it would change the leaf size but it didnt. It just started spreading more stemps and leafs from the root but so far its at 3 inches tall as of today passed by to this video to see tips on how to cut roots but not too many people bonsai the way of roots and stemps control.

    • @TreeVibes
      @TreeVibes  3 года назад +1

      The leaf size takes time to reduce. And the 2 first years I don't think it's even possible. Because all the energy it needs and wants is in the seed, and there is a lot of energy in avocado seeds. In other plants when reducing leaf size you have to remove most of the nitrogen in the fertilizer to have good success.

    Cool video! When did you prune it for the first time? Do you need to wait for the first leaves to grow first? Did you cut the roots as well?

    Do you leave the stems of the leaves there for a specific reason?

    • @TreeVibes
      @TreeVibes  3 года назад +2

      I always leave them so they fall of by them self. Then the plant will do the work and I don't need to think about if I will do damage or not when if cut to close
