The reason I got into the drums....a cool dude to say the very least, super intelligent also, back then he was way ahed of his time man, the drummers drummer.
Drummers are the masters of rhythm and Stewart Copeland, a genius drummer. He`s drumming skills are as high as Rush `s Neil Peart, another great drummer.
Stewart, you`re my favorite drummer. Your explanation on playing drums is just excellent. But, I don`t think that playing drums is a very easy task, as you said. Anyway, that`s a very good video.
I'm a drummer myself and I'm amazed at how hard he's hitting the drums. I mean, all the time. Could that be part of why he sounds so amazingly sturdy and tight? Think I should try this out. I have a habbit of not hitting that hard really.
I mean he plays other instruments so I think he just meant its easiest for him. It comes more naturally to him than the guitar or anything else he plays. I think he said he played like french horn or trombone or something as a kid too
I have a conspiracy theory. I noticed a few years back as Sting was exiting the Oscars with his Wife and Son, that his Son looked more like Stew than Sting. The age of the boy, give or take a few months, coincides with the Police breakup. Hmmmmmmm?
Bit lame that he says the drums are easy. I understand it's him being humble (Copeland is a brilliant mix of HUGE ego and HUGE humility) but the drums aren't easy. If you want to play crap like Meg White, okay maybe. But Copeland's skill level is very high and it's a pity people still make fun of drummers - drummers are the backbone of almost every song you love.
Stewart Copeland is such an inspiration
what a funny video I could watch it all day long...
He's so wild! Grrr I love that!
Man I would love to play his kit. He is my hero.

@brainiacgames Re: Meg White: She might play what you call crap but I bet she is capable of a lot more than what you've heard.

This was during the recording of "Ghost in the Machine", so it was 1981 which made Stewart about 29. Jools Holland was 23.

Drums are eayER than guitar, bass or s.e. for HIM
;)

he sounds
like david beckam, ahahahahaha
Playing precision percussion patterns like Stuart or Chloe Saavedra is NOT an easy thing to do!

He has to ask dumb questions for the viewers.
ahhahahahahah!! love it
Joey Jordison? Joey is a beginner and Stewart is an advanced player so no comparison!!
