SOLID... powerful performance... keep up the good work Marty!!
If you ever decided to sell your acrylic octoban set...i'll be the first in line! I need those type of octobans to replicate Alex Van Halen's kit from the 5150 tour.
Alex Van Hagar Make them yourself! Much cheaper.
Lol i saw you in the comments under a memphisdrumshop video
Awsome solo , love it mate.
And the kit sounds great.
Thanks so much Peter, much appreciated.
these are my favorite kind of drum solos.
colorful, adventurous and powerful..
these days, people literally try to over complicate things with " odd time signatures " or whatever and it just comes out boring and repetitive.
this..
this is art
Yol thank you, I greatly appreciate your comment.
Not saying that this solo is bad, but I think that the newer solos are much more colorful and inventive than the older more played out style of soloing
Superb job Marty!!
Well done, it's amazing how good you can become as a drummer just soloing at home every day.
Wow Marty!!! Awesome kit and solo, great beats and amazing blend of sound.
Keep'on drumming!!!

GRAZIE.THX
@68PieceDrumKit Thanks.
19 drums and 49 freekin cymbals!?!?!? You make it look so compact!!! Great drumming btw!
Thank you, I appreciate that. 🥁
@allmetaliswelcome Thanks so much!! There is a second video also.
I noticed in one of your other video's you had a Van Kleef Drum's sign, are you using a VK snare in this video ?..........I had the 1st ever VK snare that Alan built, it is a Carbon Kevlar shell, sound's amazing but the tuning range wasn't right for me, but that is one hell of a beautiful kit you have, and Damn !! you can play the hell out of them.
** CHEERS **
Beast Mode! Awesome solo Marty! I hear influences of Neil Peart - the professor RIP

Thank you Rhythm-T.
Highly influenced from Ginger Baker 🥁
@@68PieceDrumKit Ohh ok that's what's up 👍👍👍👍
Do you plan your solo or do you improvise everything?
Rene, I never plan anything.
I always improvise. 🥁
Wow! You really impressed me on 3 counts there - 1) Your 'kit. 2) You're playing. 3) Your moustache. (Although, not necessarily in that order). Lol! All joking aside though, really nice work there, Sir! \m/ (:o)
Good Create.
Thank You.

Thank you 🥁
I don't know all that gear ???????
1:57 that tempo XD
Is this a SONOR kit??
Yes it is. 9 ply Birch.
@@68PieceDrumKit could tell by the bass drum claws ..
You sound like the multiple sum of John Bonham and Alex Van Halen. Of course I hear other influences in there as well, but those are the predominant two. Best thing is though, honestly, you sound like Marty more than anything or anyone else. Nice kit... it's nice to see someone playing with other percussion pieces other than one rack tom, which seems to have become the dominant style of today. I love simple set ups as well, but lets face it when a kid starts dreaming about a drums set and playing drums, this is more what he's probably after.
Thanks Jan, appreciate your comment. By the way Ginger Baker is my influence.
Marty French Well I suppose I should check him out. He's actually one of the legendary players that I overlooked. I suppose it's because I was never a big Cream fan. I do think Clapton is a cut above, and really enjoy his ultra smooth playing. I own a lot of his music, so perhaps Cream is a band I may want to sit down and have a closer listen to. Take care buddy!
@@68PieceDrumKit HEY! Marty!......You have a really NICE set-up.....it's so neat and clean looking.....I can't even imagine what that set you back...lol. Ginger is the ABSOLUTE KING OF DRUMMING!!!!....Swiss triplets ROCK!!!! I really enjoyed your video. Thanks for your great effort, you are very good.
Pretty good man, a little dynamics would only add to a real solid performance imo
cymbal
If there were an heir apparent to Ginger Bakers throne, it would be this guy.
Thanks so much Evertell.
Ginger was the reason I picked up the sticks.
At the age of 17 I rented the top floor of a closed down factory and practiced everyday for a year. Self taught. 18 I started playing out professionally and have never looked back.
Ginger definitely has influenced my playing.
There will never be another Ginger.
I am always putting out videos.
I hope you continue to enjoy them 🥁
Definately👍👍
You play fast really well but can you play slowly and melodically? Kinda like Toad only slower? Jamie below is a guitarist....he and I have known each other 30 some odd years and Cream is our common ground, among other things...I am a bassist and I myself struggle to play slowly and melodically..Jeff Beck is a sterling example of making every note count, every time. So like Jamie says, let's get together?
Some drummers make it look so easy…not this guy! Love him though. That was a lot of fun. I need to rest now😮
are you an Irish French....last name here is French as well...
Actually you are right. Growing up my parents told me our last name French was a Irish name.
thats where all his money went
MORE COWBELL 😂
😉
A bit too disjointed. Good skills but no thought behind the composition.
Dream on...
You should post a video of your playing, so we can all see how magnificent you are.
Lol
