Being a breaststroker is a special thing. I bet Peaty can swim other strokes, but how well? Breaststroke is special compared to the other strokes. I know guys who could do all but not breaststroke well. I started as a breaststroker and learned the others later, not the best at the others but I could hold my own. My IM was greatly enhanced by my breaststroke abilities and made for interesting races. My records in high school have been broken, but not the IM. Why? Guys can swim certain strokes but not the breaststroke, the breaststrokers can't swim the others. You get into college and everybody is a great swimmer. The herd gets thinned down to the best. Good in all, doesn't compete against great in one. It is what makes swimmers like Phelps, and even Lochte special. Peaty is a beast when it comes to breaststroke. He takes what the other special guys are doing in the breaststroke and taking to a whole nother level. I get more excited seeing him swim than any other event. The medley relay is fun to watch when he swims because he shows how much of a different level he is at. I wish he was stronger in the IM and especially the 400 IM. To see him either catch up, or leave people in the dust during the breaststroke leg would make me giddy. Breaststrokers against other breaststrokers is one thing and he shines above the others, watching any of them annihilate a field of non breaststrokers is where it is just downright awesome and funny. I will watch the olympics and I tell my wife that everything is going to change during the breaststroke legs, she watches me move to the edge of my seat and start to cheer the guys on. Sure enough, that is the one leg that you see the most variance. Love seeing Peaty compete. I hope he kills it in Tokyo.

I am guessing you guys are breaststrokers too? It is a small portion on any team. Anyone who swims knows it. I have so many of my buddies who were awesome swimmers, but they weren't breaststrokers, they all say they wish they would have been better at it, and it is the only stroke where you can take someone who hasn't swam all that much and beat a seasoned guy who can't swim it well. It is why the IM is my favorite race out of all of them, when I see any swimmer who can excel during the breaststroke portion I know I am in for a great show. What Peaty does in his breaststroke with his turnover rate with his stroke speed is amazing. I'd be interested if that was his own doing, or if he had a coach work on that with him? Thinking about it brings back memories of the pain you get when you are cranking out your stroke, your arms start to stiffen up and you just push through it. Such an awesome feeling.
breaststroke is for 'cheaters', you have to cheat the water, it is the only stroke where you have to recover your stroke and kick in the water, 'fly back and free your arm recover is over the top, no resistance. Breaststroke you have to recover in the water, as smoothly and as efficiently as you can, hence 'cheating the water' whose one aim is to resist and hold you back....
I really enjoy watching these amazing videos and they get better every time I watch them but can you try and match any beatdrops in the music to a different slide or a different clip of the swimmer just to try and make it more smother. Thanks

Don't think peaty will be as good as kalisz in the breaststroke leg of IM though...
