Although she's technically not a his family member, she's probably the closest thing to family he's had aside from him making a family himself with Daphne.
@@gracewood9332 She’s not that good of a mother though. She treats Penelope like she’s an afterthought and constantly neglects and berates her for no reason at all. She doesn’t even help Penelope find a decent match for herself and mainly helps Prudence and Philippa.
"Did she have any kids?" Queen Charlotte and Queen George III had fifteen children. Two boys died before their fifth birthday. One daughter lived till her late twenties.
Lady Danbury is the dukes godmother- not mother. I love queen charlorte, it's such a touching show and gives great depth to both lady danbury and the queen, but especially the queen!
Honestly, completely understand Lady Danbury being happy her husband died. It was partial played for laughs but...she was never ALLOWED to say no to her husband's...desires
4:32 What's happened is that her granddaughter has just died - the man crying over the coffin is CHarlotte's eldest son George the Prince Regent and future King George the Fourth. That's her one legitimate grandchild, the rest at the moment are results of her son's numerous affairs.
It has been mentioned that the Queen has 15 children in season 2 when she invited Kate, Edwina, and Lady Danbury to the palace to look at the zebras. And back then it was mandatory for people to see the "consummation of the marriage" in order to make sure that nothing goes wrong. Also I hope I'm not the only one thinking that Grandpa Bridgerton looks like Anthony.
14:24 We did. In season 2 when Charlotte was looking at the zebras with Lady Danbury and Edwina, Charlotte mentioned that she didn't know what to name them and that after 15 children she was out of ideas. Also in season 1, in her scene with King George, George asked about "Little George" and she mentioned that he was getting plumper by the day - they were talking about their eldest son, the future King George the Fourth, currently the Prince Regent because George III was considered mentally unfit to rule. He's the one who keeps crying because his daughter just died - he famously hated his wife Caroline of Brunswick, they disliked each other before they'd met and it got worse after their marriage, he was also looking for some way to legally divorce her and ended up preventing her from having just about any knowledge or input into their daughters life, but by all accounts he did genuinely love his daughter. Also in season 1 - George mentioned Amelia, she was their youngest (child number 15) but she died in her mid-late-twenties. When Charlotte was pregnant with Amelia her 13th and 14th child both died - two boys, both under 5. The 13 men and women we see in this scene are the rest of the royal babies queen Charlotte just mentioned.
27:14 It’s not known for certain what king George actually had but it’s speculated he had porphyria. It usually had physical symptoms but some variants caused mental issues. But it’s also possible that he had BPD.
18:00 she says things like "7 and 10 years old" cause in german you'd say for example 27 as "seven and twenty (siebenundzwanzig)", and i assume in older german they used that same logic for the teens too (although nowdays 17 would be "siebzehn" aka just seventeen)
Can't wait to see your reactions to the second part, waiting to see if you tear up, I most certainly did! Also technically there is no exact explanation for what happened with George but it is believed he had porphyria and/or bipolar type 1 disorder. They didn't have the proper words to describe it or treat it at that time, unfortunately.
YESSS FINALLYYYYYYYY.....i was so sad when you didnt react to this when it first came out😭ik this isn't technically a bridgerton season, but this show had (in my opinion) the best love story, the best couple,. the best chemistry, the best music, the best characters, everything was just incredible🤭💕
FYI, the "good hips" myth was about the ability for women to carry a baby to term and deliver them safely. However, the external hip width does not actually relate to greater ease with pregnancy or delivery.
It was based on the real Queen Charlotte. Look it up! The whole debate about in real life is because of writings and paintings where she "might" not be all white. So a lot of this is based on real history, including how many kids they had.
Was convinced by my friend to watch this and i definitely didn't regret it. I'm totally obsessed with Charlotte and Gorge relationship. Its just the most heartwarming romance I've seen in a while😌 I can't wait for u to react to the second half😆
I am so happy you finally got to this show. Just WAIT! The last few episodes are gonna be a rollercoaster, and I am really hoping that you cry by the end, lol.
It is about time! I have waited for so long for you to watch this show! i cannot wait to watch part 2, I think you will truly enjoy the last three episodes.
Loved your reaction as always. You should watch society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one. If you do watch it I recommend the original language with subtitles, the acting was amazing
PLEASE REACT TO "SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON"! It's a story about a strong, beautiful horse with a spirit that can never be broken. I cry every time i watch it! It's a INCREDIBLE film, and the songs are so cool! But it's not a musical and the animals can't talk. 😭💔🔥
Just for a note, I don’t remember when it was said so might be a spoiler? But the reason why Lady Danbury was thrilled her husband died and didn’t love him is because she’d been promised to him as a 7 year old when he was already an old man. At this point she is 17 years old. Her story is incredibly tragic and I do wish they hadn’t played those scenes as comical
Isn’t it sad we now that “”Lottie and George” actually were in love. There are letters documenting that and the many children they had together. It could have been one of the happiest royal couple in history. In the last years George was totally beside himself and never knew his Lottie passed away before him. He died about a year later or shall we say was freed of his sufferings.
Does the queen have children? Pfft. She has ALL the children. 15 kids (two died young) - but the only legitimate grandchild from any of them was the girl who died, the princess royal.
Corey and India have such great chemistry and then go full bickering old married couple in their interviews. We love to see the range.
They have soooo much natural chemistry!
frrr tho
Ik! They’re adorable 😂😂
Lady Danbury isn't related to the duke. She was friends with his mother and took him under her wing when his father rejected him.
Although she's technically not a his family member, she's probably the closest thing to family he's had aside from him making a family himself with Daphne.
@@trustfratedinfires6325 I'm not arguing with that. But based on the commentary it appeared Evan thought she was his birth mother.
Violet’s mom even makes Portia(Penelope’s mom)look like a saint.
what do you mean I love Portia
@@gracewood9332 She’s not that good of a mother though. She treats Penelope like she’s an afterthought and constantly neglects and berates her for no reason at all. She doesn’t even help Penelope find a decent match for herself and mainly helps Prudence and Philippa.
@@garlantyrell6368 And she's pretty crap at helping them too.
It brings me joy that she's rolling in her grave as her grandkids love the "brown" members of the ton 😋

the way kendrick made such a banger that not like us is even in a BRIDGERTON video💀
THEY NOT LIKE USSS
@@MoviesinDepth EVERYBODY SAY OVHOEEEE
lmaooo 🤣💀
This guy really struggling to remember that the Duke is not ACTUALLY Lady Danbury child. 😊😆
Not you calling queen Charlotte Hamilton when her husband George is the same king as the one from Hamilton

I forgot we hadn’t gotten your reaction to this! Queen Charlotte is worth the watch and I can’t wait to see your reaction to the second half.
Thank you so much for watching!!

How did they dislike each other before they met? Did they have a correspondence?
AYO THAT BEGINNING INTRO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We going FULL UNHINGED😂

The porphyria was recently (more or less 10ish years ago) debunked. Manic BPD is now generally considered the definitive diagnosis
35:31 Your reaction to that needs to be a GIF 😂😂😂😂
HAHA
haha I didn't understand this at first but basically King and Queen's granddaughter and greatgrandchild died. so technically, no heir.
Please watch the rest. It is amazing and fills in so many things. Also the end make me cry so hard
they really aimed to pull on our heart strings in this series
Him hating on the king and he soon realises what is going on 😂
