    Gotta say I’m enjoying your videos, thank you, much appreciated. Without watching the previous video you posted about the Cleveland launcher I probably wouldn’t have considered it. After demoing many different drivers, including the M6, which for me was difficult to keep straight, I settled on the Cleveland. It was the easiest to hit, went nice and straight with ease, got the best numbers for me, and the price was right. I will say it’s definitely loud at first, but I very quickly got used to it.

    I went and tested the HB Launcher against my M6 D-Type after seeing your review the other day. (not this one). Both were set to 10.5*, stock shaft in the Turbo and a Proforce V2 in the M6 (I was fitted for this driver). Both R Flex. The numbers were a lot like your test. My avg carry with the M6 was 232 and 244 with the Turbo and the spin was lower with the Turbo. My ball speed and club head speed increased with the Turbo. The feel of the Turbo with the counter balanced shaft was really something. It felt effortless and it felt like I had played this club all year instead of the other way around. The M6 is a very good club don't get me wrong and I hit really well all year, but after hitting the HB Turbo and seeing the numbers I traded in the M6 and the HB Turbo will be in the bag in 2020. At $350 it 's a steal IMHO.

    Best looking Cleveland driver since the Classic XL! I'm tempted to trade my G400 lst in on the Turbo, except I know the Cobra SZ is also coming out. The performance is basically the same between the new Turbo and My G400, on good strikes, but sometimes the spin dips too low with the Ping. I had an M4, but I tended to lose it to the right more often than I like. I don't know why that happened, but it did so I switched back to the G400 lst, where it hardly ever happens. I had the same issue with the M6, and saw no performance gains with the injected face.

    • @Ivorengland

      If it sits open at address and you don’t correct it by re-gripping your club, it will fly off to the right and will put slice spin on the ball. Not your fault. You should be able to put a driver down and it should sit square.

    I bought this Cleveland Launcher, it's a solid driver. I've seen this Cleveland driver tested against drivers that are $200-$300 a few times. Everytime the testers have to adjust for the more expensive driver and take more time and still its similar if not worse than the Cleveland. Results are the Cleveland is just good, but be sure to test first.

I like the top of the Cleveland for it's alignment value too. Good video guys, thanks.

  • @ericbriggs7383
    @ericbriggs7383 4 года назад +1

    To be completely fair here, it looks like the M6 is the 10.5 ( 13:58 ) which is being adjusted down to the desired loft. That definitely plays a part in that spin number. That's why it sits uncomfortably open at address.

  • @christod7912
    @christod7912 4 года назад

    Tested both the M6 and M5 and never been so disappointed with a club. Disregarded the M6 almost immediately and the M5 I had to work so hard tweeking loft lie shaft to get any sort of performance. I game an old Nike VR and carried it a god 30yards past either. I'm always a 9.5 stiff off the shelf and the taylormade I couldn't find anything I was happy with.

Class content as always Mark and Co. Also would be interested in a custom fitting on the Cleveland with the fixed hosel etc. Since we're spoilt with adjustable drivers the fact Cleveland brought out an fixed Hosel really interests me from a fitting perspective.

      Lance, why? Wilson gave it their best shot with that driver a year or 2 ago and was and still is an epic fail. Truly an epic fail and for everyone to see (with the show with Rick and all). No one (that I know of or have ever played with) is looking to go and purchase a Wilson driver. Wilson irons, maybe... but Wilson is not in the driver "game" or even trying or able to compete in the driver world. Now, with all this said, it is ONLY my opinion. Following your recent video with James Robinson testing older drivers when you jumped from 2013 to 2004 could fill in some of the gap in years by updating your MP650 driver review filmed on a dark evening at Clifton Hill in the pre launch monitor days. Compare it to something new that's at the lower price point like the Cleveland. I use a secondhand MP650 purchased via eBay a couple of years ago and wonder if I'm sacrificing many yards due to technology.

  • @jporter504

    This is 2019. Cleveland can figure out how to add an adjustable hosel and still move the weight where it needs to be. Fixed hosel means a fitter has to stock at least 4 different heads (for each loft) x 4 shafts flexes for a total of 16 different test drivers and that is for just the stock shaft. Any additional shaft options would require many more test drivers since they are glued in.

    I think this is the problem with a lot of things within the Golfsport. Recently you tested different drivers from different years with minimal difference except for price. This test confirms this and shows that marketing plays a big part in what sells. So I would choose the Cleveland but would buy a second hand Titleist. Just because I like the brand name not because I get the best performance out of it.

    I totally agree about the M6 sitting open. So does the M5, M3 and M4. I have the M1 and it does not sit open. The only reason I haven't upgraded is because the Taylormade drivers sit open and everything I've hit that's not Taylormade can't beat my M1. When I tried the M6 I just couldn't hit it and immediately hit the M5 much better.

    Mark, with a counter balanced shaft, does it eliminate the need to add head weight to get swing weight back up when shortening the shaft from the butt end? Obviously as it shortens your losing counter weight also, so I'm curious if it balances back out.

    I'd like to see you put the same model driver head 2 head with itself... but with different static lofts adjusted to the same playing loft, For example a 9° and a 10.5° ts2 both set at 10.5°, 9.75° & 9° to see what difference the static loft makes in each setting. This test was a 9° fixed head against a 10.5° head adjusted down to 8.5°.
    In my experience static loft makes a big difference even when adjusted to play the same and maybe the reason Dan struggled for consistency with the M6, especially adjusting it the full 2 degrees.

    Spent an hour in a custom fitting session for driver. ST190 was first to drop out then M6 landing with Ping G410. From all tested the longest and straightest were all similar but G410 seemed easier to hit and average of the misses was better.

    As someone who plays an M4 , I prefer the Cleveland, M6 looks to similar to my M4. I like the all black of the Cleveland

    Based on the test it would be Cleveland for me. Like Mark says, I am only going for one fitting for a driver / FW woods and therefore it seems pointless to me to pick anything other than the club that performs best; after all, I am not the expert. I agree with Dan that the sound would put me off and also definitely like the fact that it sits square and stable at address.

    Cleveland really seem to have made a great club here...Rick Shiels loved it too...

    Did you use the 45 even flow red shaft in that M6 ? if yes, that's a high launch high spin shaft thus perhaps why you were getting those results. Crossfield you're usually fair with these compares, what happened here :) ? Was there a "like" shaft in that Cleveland?

      @@MarkCrossfield By that you mean Driver Launch? I see so the launch angles were both right around the same, so it was a fair compare as far as how these were set up. Think that's what you're saying.

    Get the Cleveland and spend the rest on a lesson to greet the driver to work? I really don't see the argument for the TM

    Just bought the M6 because I got a great deal...$250 off and $120 cheaper than the Cleveland. I'm going to be looking at the Cleveland hybrids and hybrid irons though!

    Would really appreciate a similar Ping 410 vs TaylorMade M6 comparison

    Can I ask a question? I currently use a ping G400max driver and it’s spinning at over 3000 how can I reduce the spin ? Is it the shaft ? The loft ? Or is it me 🤷‍♂️

    I would love to see Dan fit a customer for a driver and show us what we should expect from a good fitter. I would say most people don't know what they should be getting for their fit and are possibly at risk of getting a bad fit and not being sold the correct product for their game.
