How do you handle returns?
My local Vinnies had a pair of RM Williams shoes for $360. Seriously come on they get stuff for free. Your best option is garage sales, auctions or fb marketplace
Ohh wow yea that’s up there, hopefully prices start coming down soon.
Learning to leave items in the op shop is one of the biggest lessons to learn. FOMO is so strong when you see a good brand. Another great vid, thanks 😀
Oh for sure I really think it’s is the most important part it’s really easy to make excuses for items when your out thrifting but that’s doesn’t usually translate to a good sale.
You guys have got to stop sending your terrible weather over to Victoria!! 😲😉
Haha well if WA stop sending it to us we will all be sorted haha
@@2AussieThrifters 🤣🤣
Perfect way to handle any customers issues, just be nice and deal with each case as it comes through!
Thanks mate no point getting emotionally involved with these types of situations 🙏
Hi. I love your content. Could you let me know how you work out what is currently tending on eBay? Not sure if you have said about it before on a video or not.
Thanks 😀
Hey Kirsty thanks so much for watching, that’s a super tough question as it all depends on category, time of year and trends you can use terapeak as a good option to view average sale prices within brands and categories, I’d probably start looking at eBay solds above a price point you want to hit.
Love your channel. Thank you both! I'm now back into reselling after having a break for several years, because I had to become a carer for my 30 year old daughter because of a medical issue. I mostly avoided shoes in the past because I know how fit can be a problem, and I've always sweated waiting for the returns!! Haven't had any ( and my favorite feedback was from a guy in outback australia somewhere who was thrilled with his shoes from me for his wedding!) But the cleaning of them is still an puzzle for me - how do you clean up some of those runners, and others? Wire brush? Washing machine? Also, do you wash every piece of clothing before you list it? Thanks again guys.
Oh wow that’s awesome I love how we can put down and pick up Ebay when it suits the lifestyle awesome to get that feedback from customers.
For shoes we will wash them in a soft cycle cold cycle (mesh runners) clean them with baby wipes or magic erasers.
We only really wash clothing that needs it.
🙏@@2AussieThrifters
Another good one legends! Shame about the shoes but part of the game ey
Thanks mate yea all part of the rollercoaster haha 😛
Great video guys, you always have great content and are easy to watch.😊
Thanks Michael appreciate the support 🙏🙏
I would love to see a whole episode dedicated to how you deal with customer issues. Do you always go straight to partial refund for something like that?
I’ll see what we can put together, not always it really just depends on the situation, if they contact us before opening a return we try and work it out without making it difficult.
Great idea to do a lap of Australia when you're comparatively young.
I did a lap when I was 24.
20km hikes through mountains and endless days of surfing and diving.
The sort of stuff that may not be feasible at the age of 65.
Yea we are excited to be working towards that goal now and enjoy it while we can.
Op shop pricing has become ridiculous. They’ve lost sight of their purpose and can’t stay in their lane.
Great Video & That Juicy Hoodie!! 😍
Thanks yea that was a awesome find 🙏
Great video as always guys! I never do returns. Even though I am set up for 30 day returns, if a customer has an issue I just give them a full refund and write it off.
Yea that’s fair enough we do that occasionally as well where the item isn’t worth getting back.
Great fast sale..thanks for sharing ..feeling for you two working in 38 degrees plus in warehouse..hot Hot 🔥 🥵
Haha yea it’s been a sweaty week in the warehouse glad the change had come through though.
Was about to go search that liberty shirt & then it was gone. Us quilters appreciate a good liberty fabric. Great resolution & move on. That's a key we all need to learn in the beginning. 😄
Haha yea it didn’t last long at all, it’s such a in demand fabric we love finding it.
That heatwave was tough. No working aircon in my car. Reverted to 70's aircon. Wound both windows down.
It sure was no aircon would have been a big struggle.
I had a return this week because I made a silly mistake in the listing 🙈 thanks for making me feel a little better about it 😂
Haha it happened to all of us, just a part of business. We all learn from them.
OMG! I'm watching your video and having serious Déjà vu feelings! 😆. I recently sold a Sportscraft Jacket that looks identical to the dusky pink one you showed 🤣, and just last week sold a vintage Juicy Couture white terry toweling hoodie! Gotta love that Sass & Bide especially in silk! 🤑. Bugger on the refund.
Haha that’s crazy great minds think alike hey. Yea we did grab the sportscraft for the main store in the end and it already sold so we should have put it on the new store same with the Levi’s jacket lol 😂
🤣@@2AussieThrifters
Cool vid thrifters, apart for 5 days of 38°+😅
What label printer do you use ?
Thanks heaps
Haha very true,
We are using the dymo 4XL still at the moment as it takes generic labels
@@2AussieThrifters thank you
@@downundergaragesaler9388no worries at all
my comment disappeared! (Maybe my settings are off!)
I can still see it 🙏
I now know it can be seen! oops!@@2AussieThrifters
Confucius says choose wisely 😊
Haha very true. It’s so hard to leave stuff like that behind but we’ve learnt over the years what actually sells quickly.
Liberty prints for the win!
So good love finding them 🙏
Not trying to be rude, just genuinely curious. Why didn’t you just keep the old store and buy out your old partner?
That’s a fair question, we had 4 eBay stores and 3 eBay stores now.
We still have our main store, the dvd store and now this new one.
The eBay store that Cara took with her was originally her store, so we negotiated a settlement on that store and have paid out share price on the business.
@@2AussieThrifters ah right that makes sense. Thanks
@@Flip_Goat no worries at all
So youre saying 3 days of heat was the factor in the return ? Sorry but i call BS, peak summer in Qld hits that regularly and never heard of any resellers there using that excuse.
Well I have no other explanation, they were fine when we cleaned them so either the buyer is lying or something odd has happened. Either way we have refunded the buyer and have moved on.
