My Grandmother is a Gillis , her community settled in Grand Mira, a River in Cape Breton , Nova Scotia, Canada. I was told that the Gillis came from Morar, do you think they would have lived in places similar to where you visited and filmed in this video ?
I presume the place hasn’t changed much over the years. The area hasn’t changed dramatically over time. There is a village near by called Moror, and a small fishing port called Mallaig, which is only a few miles away from here. Moror has only about 20 houses which sits at the beginning of the loch on the approach road to where I filmed the video. It’s such a lovely location as you can see by the video. It’s a must place to visit if your ever come to Scotland. It’s so peaceful especially at the loch side. Thanks for commenting
I have been ! I went to mallaig. Next time I will go to the loch , thank you for making this video, it means a lot, as as someone who has descended from people of the area.
Hi mate great video this loch looks stunning im planning a wild camping trip here this summer, are there a few spots where you can get the car near to loch to set up for a camp?
@@JPW777 Yep and I was there when it was discovered, my step father and I were part of the expedition that were based on the beach, were the burning house scene is. But this was in the late seventies early 80s, many things were discovered on those camps!

Is there any campsites there or B&B s ?
A good few campsites, please google Arisaig campsites. You are also free to wild camping at loads of locations.
I believe Loch Morar is the deepest Loch in Scotland?
Hi Gaz of the North. Yes it is and also the deepest fresh water loch, lake in the UK. It’s an absolutely gorgeous place to visit here in Scotland.
