- ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon put on a striking clinic in front of his hometown fans in Bangkok, Thailand, finishing former ONE World Champion Jonathan Haggerty inside three rounds to retain his World Title at ONE: A NEW TOMORROW. Thailand’s own “Iron Man” set the tone early in the bout, landing a body shot that sent Haggerty down to the canvas in Round 1. With his signature aggression on full display, Rodtang continued to pile the pressure on “The General,” scoring three consecutive knockdowns in Round 3 to put the challenger away and successfully defend his strap!

Haggerty is extremely talented, the 1st fight was close, especially the early rounds were impressive but Rodtang just rallied on relentlessly. This fight shows why Rodtang is champ, he has Haggerty figured out in this one!!

Haggerty isn't really elite in Muay Thai. Rodtang is fighting Rungkit soon, who he has already lost to once before.

if haggerty have harder kick he might have done it cuz so far those who beaten rotang have the similar style with haggerty just that they have stronger arsenal specially the kick, rungkit almost cut him in half with the kick
One of the best fights of the night, so glad Rodtang won in front of a home crowd and with his sick father in the audience. Both Rodtang and Haggerty are amazing athletes and the level of respect both have for each other is a great example for One Championship fans young or old.

The reasons fight between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Jonathan Haggerty always epic.
1. They both had a similar upbringing. They both fight for their father.
2. They both use similar Muay Thai style which rooted from the Southern part of Thailand called "Muay Chiya"
3. They both start training since a young age, Rodtang was trained at 9, Haggerty was trained at 11
4. Rodtang is a fist user, Haggerty is an elbow user means they are both close-quarter fighter
5. This fight was simply about tactic and fight IQ. I saw this match in the stadium. Their strength is insane
I really hope ONE becomes big internationally. It would especially good for Muay Thai to get some mainstream recognition.
Both of these guys are champs. The way Haggerty recovered from that body shot was incredible.

Props to Haggerty, dude is a top level Muay Thai practitioner, but Rodtang, damn that guy is just nuts, his reaction timing, power, durability and speed is just through the roof, dude is a brick wall in touch with the speed force. Respect to both of these cats!
Haggerty has beautiful Muay Thai but to contend with an absolute monster like Rodtang you need more than just outstanding technique. Iron Chin, Hands of stone and an undeniable ferocity. Unbelievable attributes possessed by Rodtang.

It is their national sport so don't take it personally that they are doing it to outclass a white man.
Man, it puts things into perspective. Jonathan is an experienced champion, who has probably received so many hard strikes and he is conditioned like a beast. For someone to KO him with body shots like this...you can only imagine how much power is behind those punches. Rodtang is a mini Tyson with his boxing.

Insane skill on show by Rodtang, the first fight was competitive but Rodtang came in a different beast all together. That body shot took everything from Haggarty I'm surprised he lasted so long after, He's young and talented and can definitely get back to being top of the ladder one day but this is Rodtangs division right now!!! Beast!!

Size isn't just height ffs. Haggerty is taller yes but rodtang is bulkier/ more muscle. That's the trade off. Size definitely does matter most of the time in a fight

Haggerty has all that. You need power to beat Rodtang, because trying clever teeps and sneak elbows is all well and good, but when Rodtang just steams towards you with punches it's not enough

I’m Thai and I think Jonathan has more technique. But in a real fight Rodtang He knows how to defeat a fighter with better techniques. that’s why Rodtang is better.
