Awesome video Sir. 👍 Just some advice on culturing microworms. 1. Add a pinch of bakers yeast on top culture when you're now setting it up. I helps cultures to develop quicker. 2. It best to put the microworms culture in a dark cupboard as they would crawl up more out of medium so its easier to harvest. 3. Instead of using the filter floss use a (square shaped) first layer of folded paper towel then on top with a piece of cloth then use masking tape to secure the end to prevent flies from enter. Sometimes tiny fruit flies do enter the floss especially with that big hole you've cut in lid. As for making ventilation holes i use a solder gun or ice pick which i heat up on stove or open flame and make several equal sized holes in the center of lid cover. This way i can secure it with the above square piece of paper towel and cloth. 4. If your culture is getting too runny you need to make new culture but if you want to extend them a bit longer use a small piece of bread to soak up excess liquid in the culture. Hope this helps. Best of luck mate.👍
@@KeepingFishSimple That's ok mate. It all about sharing information. Im not pro or know everything but willing to learn and improve on knowledge and techniques.
From my research, really one of the best live foods to culture is Moina macrocopa. For hobbyists, they are best grown indoors with dry yeast. Their smallest nauplii are even smaller than BBS, so perfect for the tiniest fry. They survive in the fry tank, an even help cleaning up waste, instead of dying like BBS. And according to a lot of studies, many fish species grow up faster with Moina than with Artemia or commercial diets. A bit more work than microworms though.
I just started one of these cultures myself for my apistogramma macmasteri fry. Still waiting for it to mature. I have been feeding baby brine and occasionally aquarium coop fry food. Hoping these are a good suppliment!
I've had different larger worms for feeding. But since I am expecting fry I was not planning on, I've ordered some micro worms. Thanks for the Information.
I haven't bred this specifically, but to keep flies out of my springtail cultures i used extra stick glue i had with one of those cotton pads they sell at the dollar store in the "makeup section" i think, covered the hole I made nicely. got like 100 for 1$. This video is pretty cool, although I wish it would be easier for me to culture rotifers because they are way healthier for my stock, but I can't keep them alive lol, even in perfect thick green water, good light and heat. 🥲
so i was re watching this video because my blue rams look like they are going to get busy again, while i was watching i turned and see them busy laying eggs. :D hopefully they dont eat them this time.
Will adult fish be able to find this in the aqua soil and eat it as well? I have sparkling gourami that are full grown and would like to feed them these. Thanks!
So I take that container to the restraint when I'm going to have a fish fry? Then I just put some on my fish fry. I hear many people are eating worms now. Thanks.
After feeding the fry microworm always keep the lights on and the oxygen on for flow in the water. For this the fry will be active and move more as as a result they will digest the food quickly hence the chances of getting swimbladder or other disease's gets to 0
Are these worms the same as the stuff that's been growing on my aquarium walls? I've confirmed it's not planaria, but I can't tell if they're the same as these. On a related note, would you be able to do a video about invasive/parasitic aquarium worms?
Lolol! “ the reason I cut like a big hole, is I love to shove this wool in here.” Is that the only reason you like to cut a big hole?? I’m just busting your chops man! Awesome channel, awesome information, AMAZING FISH!!!! Two thumbs up man!!!

You should make a video of you buying clams.
When you start the new culture after two weeks, what do you do with what is left of the old culture? Keep using it or throw it out?
You can use it till it burns out
I just ordered some for my corys. It's not possible to get parasites from them is it? 😶

Can u over feed micro worms ? Basically put to many in the tank ??

Dude can you make a video on how to make a starter for microworm?
Is there a difference between feeding micro worms vs vinegar eels?
Vinegar eels are larger than microworms . Microworms are more designed for fry
Nailed it!
ATILA K ok so they aren’t nutritionally different? I don’t know why they would be but asking just in case
@@atilak1961 Microworms sink - so not good for mid-water fry.
Can I feed this to adult neon tetras?
Free swimming angel fry cn eat microworms sir?
I feed them Wheatbix.
I use to feed them to my betta fry but they always missing ventricle fin

Use slices of bread, not much smell , no preparing medium before hand.
Lolol! “ the reason I cut like a big hole, is I love to shove this wool in here.”
Is that the only reason you like to cut a big hole??
I’m just busting your chops man!
Awesome channel, awesome information, AMAZING FISH!!!!
Two thumbs up man!!!
Do you add sugar or your oatmeal already has some sugar in it?
Yea you’re right it stinks. Not coming near my home again lol
Hi you can use bread or unflavored instant potato flakes instead of oat meal. It smells less pungent.
First?
