    I know I've given you grief for not taking the more challenging trails, but, thanks to your videos, I'm taking precautions for a brake down. Packing miscellaneous metric, nuts, bolts, hose clamps, zip ties, tools, extra steering rods and tie rods, for just in case scenarios. Lol. I know you ride quite a lot of trail systems, have you rode the southern route of the H&M trails, and if so, which do like best in your opinion. My wife and I will be riding the northern trail systems on our first trip there . Hoping it rains there heavy before we get there on the 20th of August 2022. Just to keep the dust down and for water/mud holes. So, once we buy an out of state orv license, maybe we could visit the southern trail systems if they are worthy, I know the northern are more to our liking, challenging.!

      Hey Dale, Not sure which trail systems are in the southern area would have to look on a map? All of the trail systems we ran we have videos of those particular ones.
      Yup can’t hurt to have extra parts and tools you never know what could break. I believe the only time we had something go wrong is when my exhaust pipe came loose. That could have been an issue if we weren’t able to get it secured by taking parts off of another machine. LOL
      As far as dust goes doesn’t seem to be an issue there.
      Most of those trails are heavily wooded so the sun doesn’t dry them out so bad. Unlike in Colorado when the trails are wide-open on the side of the mountain and the dust is horrible! But the views are breathtaking! LOL
      If you don’t mind drop a comment after y’all trip and let us know how it went?
      Thanks for checking out the video!

    Just got home from our first trip to Hatfield and Mccoy’s trail system. Stayed at twin hollows campgrounds. Just some of the nicest people around there. It’s sad to see how the death of the coal industry has decimated the towns. Devils Ance was definitely our favorite trail.

      Shawn Doucette .. Yup I imagine those towns were way different when the coal industry was thriving.
      I think that’s why they are so welcoming to ATV riders. They appreciate us spending our money there. We had a blast running those trails in that area! Thanks for watching!!

    3:32 eh - lol
    Those cliffs at the 5:27 mark were cool!
    9:32 - that sure is some beautiful country in there! That whole area is amazing!
    I found it interesting near the end there (starting around 20 min mark) that everyone's driveway along the road included a bridge. The bridge maintenance guy must do a good business - LOL
    Awesome video buddy! Thanx for taking us along on that excellent tour!

      I know what you mean that area is amazing it’s just so interesting and cool being there in the hills with all the little towns and the roads winding through. There’s definitely not much flatland. You can tell they just build their houses right on the other side of the creek and run the driveway right out to the road. Thanks for watching buddy appreciate your comments as always!!

    My brother and his wife and me went up there several years ago and stayed in Matewan at Jeff Hatfield's cabins right up the hill behind the restaurant and his ATV shop We rode Buffalo Mountain trails in early May and they weren't completely cleared yet we ran into a downed tree which I took my Commander and bashed into it several times till it moved enough so we could pass by it. Someone that evening went and cut it out of the way. But we had fun and have great memories of that trip and had a bunch of people look at my Commander because they'd never seen one that was lifted running the trails. Mine did great and we went that very same gas station that y'all were at to get gas

      @@kcatv9556 Ah, so I suspect it wouldn't work very well with our gopros. GoPro does use some sorts of audio in so Ill look into it. Yes, summer for us is like 4 days long lol.

      For the GoPro Sena makes a Bluetooth backpack it’s called it hooks to the back of the go Pro and connects to the communicators via Bluetooth.
      I think that’s the only way it would work using a go pro camera.
      Check out Frankie’ channel he done a video on how he and his group use the go Pro to record their voice. I think the video was from 2016 so you’ll probably have to look back for it.

    What trail were you on, or off of when you said "ain't no way". I'd like to find that trail. I'll let you know what it was like. What machine does "Herb" ride that you couldn't catch him on the Grizzly.?! Lol. We are going down to H&M in 13 days, can't wait. ? For ya. As I asked another person who had a video, they had a flat gas can on his machine. Asked if they had to use it.? He said if you go for a 100 mile trip, there might not be access to a town to go top off. Did you run into any close low fuel tanks.? I have a 2020 Kodiak 700 eps, and my wife has a Sportsman 570 eps 4x4's. Have no idea what range of a full tank would be. We've only been on a few 50-60 mile trail runs here in Michigan. You're more knowledgeable about what the range would be than I.

    • @kcatv9556
      @kcatv9556  2 года назад

      Hi Dale You should be able to go around 90 to 100 miles on a full tank on your machines. Anything further than that would be risky you might want to carry extra fuel if you think you’re going to do longer runs. Most of the time you can look at the map and figure out a loop where you can keep it under 90 mile.
      There are a lot of small towns to get fuelJust depends on the route you take whether you will go through one or not.
      Herm rides a sportsman 850.
      I can’t remember what that trail was that we didn’t do.
      If you’re going to do some of those XX trails be careful hate for something to happen while you’re away out there deep in the woods.
      Y’all have fun on your trip ride safe.

    • @daleliske9757
      @daleliske9757 2 года назад

      Well, we just got home from WV, H&M northern trail systems. Had a blast, my wife and I were there 6 days, (came home the 6th day. We rode 3.5 days. Covered about 250 miles. I will apologize now, for giving you grief on not riding on some of the black trails. I seen one trail where you said, "no way" that was a double black diamond. It went up at about 80%. I was tempted, but with only my wife there for support, I decided against it. Lol. You're 100% right, the videos don't show a lot of the steepness.! We covered all of the easy, and most of the difficult, but only tried a couple black single diamond 💎 trails. Wife's Sportsman atv was having shifter problems where we couldn't get it out of high forward. So, that will have to be addressed. We averaged 70 miles/day, and returned to cabin with 1/4 tank of fuel. So, I think you're spot on of 90-100 miles per full tank distance. I'll be checking out your videos of kentucky trail systems. Maybe next year.

    Hey what are you running for GPS? Looks like a Garmin handheld and a car-style Garmin Nuvi? I'm trying to decide if an Echomap Plus 44CV would be a good unit to moutn to my quad. I already own it on my jetski, and have a terrain map on it.

    • @kcatv9556
      @kcatv9556  4 года назад

      Hi Brandon Yup The GPS on the left is just a Garmin car GPS doesn’t have trails map in it just the roads map. The one on the right is a Garmin eTrex 20 it doesn’t have Maps downloaded just records and makes a track of where you ride.
      The echomap plus 44CV might work really good for you if it has a trail map download it and it.
      There is an app you can get for android device called back country. I’ve heard it’s pretty good. Looking into getting it for myself but I don’t have an android device right now.
