- Three years ago I posted this song on my Multiply site. I thought I'd post it here just because I like it very much, even though I realized that somebody else had already posted their copy. This is from this group's LP "FAREWELL ALBUM".

This is a world class pop-soul composition by one of the greatest British songwriters ever, Tony Macaulay. It reminds me somewhat of Thom Bell's 'Betcha By Golly Wow', which was a smash for The Stylistics.

Thank you! This is the version I've been searching for for 3 decades now. I have a 45 of this. I normally get the 5th Dimension version but this is the one I'm more familiar and intimate with during my teenage days. The version that begins with "bells" hehe

Wow, this is a different take on this song. I'd been listening to the 5th Dimension's version since '93. Then I finally heard Marilyn's lead vocal on it around '07. Until today I never even heard of this group. Music nowadays sure doesn't reach this level of intimacy.

I hadn't realised this was as late as the Farewell album (1st time round obviously) and was quite surprised to see Peter Oliver rather than Peter Doyle on the cover.

As far as I know, the last album of the original 5th Dimension (Soul & Inspiration which contain this song) are all covers. So who recorded this first? The New Seekers or Sunny?
The New Seekers first released this song Aug. 1974, later same year The 5th Dimension.
