I think that´s the problem surrounding newer high-end brands. If Patek or Rolex went and made an extremely luxurious box it would change their untouchable reputation. They don't need a python-box to make their watches more luxurious. Everybody knows that a Rolex or Patek is of THE best quality plus there is no reason to spend money on packaging as the watch itself is the investment.

In my view what makes the Patek so much more expensive than the Rolex is the hand finishing. The Rolex is made with the pinnacle of modern industrial technology. The Patek is made with the hands of artisans who acquired their skills and craftsmanship over a lifetime.
Rolex also gets it's share of finishing by hand from a perfectly qualified watchmakers. Patek tho has quite a chunk of gold in his movement. And the movement itself is more complicated than Rolex, thus more expensive to develop and produce.

Patek movements are levels above Rolex. This being said, Rolex makes a watch that has a reliable, relatively simple and easy to work on movement., that will outlast the user. I do not like the aesthetics of the Patek even if I could afford one. I do however, appreciate it as one of the finest watches made.
@Mohamed Koubaa Simply doesn't suit my style. I own a sub no date with a NATO to keep weight down and an Explorer with bracelet for when I'm in water for a period. I find the NATO's take a while to dry out. I found getting the bracelet off a pain, so like having access to both straps/bracelet. I don't purposely mistreat my watches, but I lift weight, xc bike, ski etc with them. This is not to say the Patek couldn't do it. It could. I'm just not in the tax bracket to do it, or does it suit my lifestyle.

The Rolex presentation box is extremely poor quality for what they charge. Omega comes with and beautiful wood box, while Rolex has an ugly green box which I find quite low quality actually
The box is unimportant to me. They take up space in my safe. I would rather both companies give me the watch in the coffin and take the price of the box of the retail price. You can’t wear the box your not going to use it for travel if you are into watches your going to have a watch box so I see no point in this elaborate box. People that collect cars don’t put them in individual pods they put several in one box to look at and enjoy... aka GARAGE.

I have the Patek 5960 Chrono in rose gold. I have several newer models of Rolex. There is definitely something "more" with the Patek over the Rolex. I love both brands.

I'm an Omega and Hamilton guy. But after seeing your previous video featuring the Patek It was love at first sight. I would choose the Patek against any watch. The movement is beyond beautiful. The dial is elegant yet classy and understated. It's not too fancy that you couldn't wear it everyday with any outfit.
Tissot are a really great brand for getting into the Swiss automatic world. The seastar is a really great spec dive watch for the money, look good too.

The price of these watches is mostly based on what’s inside (movement, rubies, technology, manufacture, etc...) and not on the strap, bracelet, box, etc ... Patek Philippe and Rolex have been making watches for years now and just like other Swiss brands they became legends and are on the top list of luxury watchers in the world, so either way you can’t go wrong. Made in Switzerland, no need to argue.

I have to give it to Patek. The dimensions, the scale of indices and overall look of sophisticated sport. The Patek looks at home on the yacht where the Rolex is on the powerboat. Both fun but one just has more class. Love your reviews and videos. Subbed.
I didn’t know the Patek didn’t hack. That is a big mark off for a watch at this price point wow. And I’ll give you the rubber strap doesn’t necessarily say class. But for the “sport” segment I think it gets a pass. I personally just like the overall look better. Though my bias of just being tired of the Rolex look is large I admit.

I have the Patek Philippe 5172G chronograph, the only expensive watch I own. It is really amazing and special. You have the nicest hands, suits you well for showcasing these expensive watches.
Patel is a beautiful watch but would prefer a black face versus the brown. Also, I’m not keen on the “cut” rubber strap as it could impact value is it is specific to the wrist of the original purchaser size. If Patek could fix these personal concerns I would select it. During the entire video I could not stop looking at the Patek brushed edge face and that polished clasp logo - both are attention grabbers. I’m not a fan of this particular Rolex either in Pepsi style due to the blue that gives a purplish hue. If you compared this Patek vs Daytona I would select the Daytona (already own black). I really enjoy your videos.

@@gio.2381 I actually do need a watch because I can't use my phone while on the job. It tells me the date, day, time, world time, and most importantly, it's indestructible. My G shock lasts forever and it's a way better value than a Rolex that may break easily.

A g-shock is a utilitarian watch, it doesn't look good and it cannot be worn in every situation. Rolexes are wearable investments. They never lose their value if serviced will always work. Simply put, you have no passion about watches, thus your opinion simply does not matter

I'm an Omega and Hamilton guy. But after seeing your previous video featuring the Patek It was love at first sight. I would choose the Patek against any watch. The movement is beyond beautiful. The dial is elegant yet classy and understated. It's not too fancy that you couldn't wear it everyday with any outfit.

I use Tissot watches. They are quiet good and affordable.
Tissot are a really great brand for getting into the Swiss automatic world. The seastar is a really great spec dive watch for the money, look good too.

The price of these watches is mostly based on what’s inside (movement, rubies, technology, manufacture, etc...) and not on the strap, bracelet, box, etc ... Patek Philippe and Rolex have been making watches for years now and just like other Swiss brands they became legends and are on the top list of luxury watchers in the world, so either way you can’t go wrong. Made in Switzerland, no need to argue.

You pay for what you get sometimes doesn’t necessarily hit the spot but in the case of Patek it’s always a bullseye the craftsmanship attention to detail and over all experience make them truly in a league of their own

I have to give it to Patek. The dimensions, the scale of indices and overall look of sophisticated sport. The Patek looks at home on the yacht where the Rolex is on the powerboat. Both fun but one just has more class.

I didn’t know the Patek didn’t hack. That is a big mark off for a watch at this price point wow. And I’ll give you the rubber strap doesn’t necessarily say class. But for the “sport” segment I think it gets a pass. I personally just like the overall look better. Though my bias of just being tired of the Rolex look is large I admit.

I have the Patek Philippe 5172G chronograph, the only expensive watch I own. It is really amazing and special. You have the nicest hands, suits you well for showcasing these expensive watches.
For £26k I think I’d go for a full rose gold Daytona, sure the Patek is classy but you might as well go all out if you want to make a statement!

Patel is a beautiful watch but would prefer a black face versus the brown. Also, I’m not keen on the “cut” rubber strap as it could impact value is it is specific to the wrist of the original purchaser size. If Patek could fix these personal concerns I would select it. During the entire video I could not stop looking at the Patek brushed edge face and that polished clasp logo - both are attention grabbers. I’m not a fan of this particular Rolex either in Pepsi style due to the blue that gives a purplish hue. If you compared this Patek vs Daytona I would select the Daytona (already own black). I really enjoy your videos.
HumanAv8ar a replacement Patek rubber strap costs £190 and is considered a ‘wear and tear’ item like your car’s tyres. Patek owners don’t quibble about stuff like this.
