Well basically all of the live performances I've seen of them just sound like garbage. I mean one time while doing Tomorrow Comes Today, he stopped singing to play the melodica where there shouldn't have been melodica.
if you want him to sound like the studio audio, listen to the studio audio. gorillaz is a creative project for him, and concerts allow him to be even more creative and make them unique
