That truck is a freaking beast! That NV4500 is a great choice with the 6.2L diesel. I'm normally not a big fan of a flatbed with a single rear wheel set-up but it actually looks great on your truck. Coming from a Ford man, nice truck!
Awesome job on the pickup build for sure!!! I definitely love it!! I’m definitely a really big fan of the 1967-1972 body style trucks!! I still have one of the 1969 Chevy 1Ton 4x4 SRW left and then of course I have several square body trucks!! I have around 6 I believe and they are all 1TON 4x4!! Some SRW and some DRW!! Definitely my two favorite body style trucks ever!!! When are you going to put out some more videos on the build of the truck or do you need another one to work on??? I have a 1984 GMC 1Ton 4x4 dump truck that could use some work it’s even a big block truck with the Dana60 front axle and a Dana 80 rear!!! Very beefy truck!!! Lol!
Nv4500 is a perfect match for my 6.2 powered 1 ton rolling on 33"s. 3rd gear from rolling stop 75 mph top speed is good enough No throttle crawl in 1st or 2nd and low range.
Not a fan of the 6.2 or 6.5 but she seems to do alright. Looks good! That clutch pedal will drive you up the wall. I know mine does. I'm just finishing up my 81 Scottsdale K20 with a fresh turbocharged 468 haven't even put her in traffic yet. And it's looking like I'm going to have to wait until spring to paint it though.
Good old sluggish but reliable General motors Detroit Diesel 6.2 l. New Venture Gear was the somewhat unlikely merging of the two manual shift design & manufacturing divisions of General Motors and Chrysler Corp. The Muncie (or Stewart Muncie) division of GM and the New Process division of Chrysler became New Venture and one of the first fruits of this union was the NV4500.
I just got a 1989 chevy Detroit 3500. Has no turbo on it. I've been told I can put one on. I see you have done just that. Any directions on where and how I can go about getting a turbo?
Easiest way is to find a blown up 6.5 and rob all the parts off it. Not really worth it though, you lose alot of room to work on it for not much power gain.

Thanks! Alot of hours in this damn thing lol
Well all those hours show. Very nice!
Those ol 6.2s are absolute troopers. Coming from a 12 valve guy. I really like your rig!
Thanks! Has a 6.0 ls in it right now but have a 12v to swap in.
@@jankosgarageMake a video of the 12v swap. Will be cool to see.

Great I was gonna do some silly swap in a random dually, but now I want a 6.2 to build up as much as possible and boost tf out of
I’ve never seen those headlights- that’s awesome
Thanks. All homemade
That truck is sick wow
sweet truck. the 6.2 and 6.5 may not make that much power compared to a cummins or a powerstroke, but they'll run forever
If you put enough money in them haha coming from a 6.2 guy I’ve cracked 4 sets of heads on 2 3 engines
they make very comparable power in stock form.
How can that be avoided for those adding power to a 6.2?@@Victorsvolkswagens
It looks amazing. Kudo’s from the Netherlands.
Yeah that one Bad freaking truck wow!
Good sounding engine!

This sounds like a 79 series land cruiser tuned
Exactly why i'm dropping a 6.5 turbo in a patrol. It sounds like a 70.

How about nos? Im not into turboing mine and plan on replacing it with a 6.0 ls later.
How many pounds of boost? Also does it have a knocking rod or no?
4llbs and hopefully its just a injector knock
Those side steps. Where did ya get them?
They were on it when i got the truck

Ticking noise.
Would you be interested in building me a flat bed exactly like this it is sick. If you have an Instagram we can talk about price
Yes. Jankowski.chris
