I keep coming back to this. 1960s, Waikato farmhouse, settling into the beds of my grandparents' old wire beds. Potties underneath. This is what I heard, and the most comforting sound ever. Thank you.
Mmmm, I love rain, the sound, and the smell it brings out of different parts of the earth. The smell of fresh rain on a lumber yard, the smell of rain on fresh bark. As A Kiwi (What New Zealanderd call ourselves) I love it when people want to come visit our country. Unfortunatly weve completly locked down our boarders so its gonna be a few months untill travel is opened up. As our prime minister said "We are in the fortunate position of having a large moat around us" 😂

There are few things more relaxing than the soft sound of rain, the earthy smell after the first rain. Of the many rain sound videos I have listened to, I find this one the most relaxing. Many thanks for this video. It complements the picture of the abandoned cottage very well and conjures up other images of rural New Zealand very well.
One of my favorite things in the world (living in NZ) is to go to a bach or cottage in the forest and listen to rain. It's just so tranquil and a great way to get away from the stress of life. Cant wait to do it again soon 🤞🤞
Oh... I just found that you made all these impressive videos and sounds by yourself. I have been listening to them for couple months when doing my dissertation, but never noticed their creator. It's just difficult to believe these fabulous works are truly recorded, like, not editted and synthesized. So very much impressed! My deepest apprieciation for helping me, and my best respect for bringing people peace. Btw, just a little bit envy for your lifestyle...only if I could be roaming around the world and just enjoy the nature...
it takes a lot of patience and time to get the right location and the right sound. However when I finally do, well that is its own reward I guess :) Really pleased that you like them. I love roaming around and enjoying nature. I hope everyone can have more time than what they currently have in nature

By the way, wellington is a great place to get rain sounds, and theres some beautiful scenery here, I'd say... the edges of the hutt valley would be a good filming area

I think my favorites are the soft rains on concrete, pavement or grasses -- just kind of drippety-droppety. 🤔... wait... I also love rain on tin roofs! ♥️ Now, those are my absolute Favorites! 😄 As I've mentioned before, though, you have such a great variety of weather sounds from which to choose to help us all fall asleep. I very much appreciate you and your work. My sleep pattern and circadian rhythm seem to be better synced up than ever in my lifetime. I'm not sure if it's not having to raise kids anymore, or being retired from teaching, or quitting drinking coffee. It's probably a combination of all three that has me sleeping so much better over the last year. My depression and anxiety have even lifted from some very rough years of being ill and weakened. Your vids have helped me so much, Steven. God bless you always for that. Surely there is a place in Heaven for you, dearest and kindest sir. 🤗💞💤
I have a few of your longer videos, but when I got this one, it became my favourite. It's perfect, and I listen to it every night that it's not raining here in southeastern England. This time of year, we don't get as much rain, and I have always loved the sound of rain at night. When I was a child, my father moved the family to the southern states in America, where the thunderstorms would literally shake the walls, and they caused me to sleep so deeply! I love your videos, they're my sleep collection. X

I LOVE NZ🥰 I've been there in 2004 and still dream about it. We live exactly opposit on this Earth (I'm in Italy) but both our lands are beautiful. 😍 Nature there, is overwhelmingly stunning as much as people are friendly and open. Manny Success that’s hard to say, I must say I do like New Zealand for so many reasons. I also like Japan. They are both safe and easy to get around and have beautiful scenery. New Zealand has far less people which suits me when filming

Ah, its the perfect level of depth/softness - I grew up in NZ. I feel like us kiwis have a strong sense of closeness to the rain.
