I definitely support the "five best" idea, especially with the inclusion of the food history (with map👍) and, of course, your wonderful list of addresses in the description. These videos are not only yummy and fun, but they become valuable resources for those who'll be fortunate enough to visit Japan. I know they've filled up my "where to" list! ❤️❤️
Couldn’t agree more. These wonderful guys fill my heart with warmth and the desire to visit Japan one day when tourism isn’t like the Wild West and people are more comfortable with tourists.
I can’t pick just one as my favorite. I want to eat them all. The special one with bits of seaweed, etc, looks very interesting! I love this format of trying the same item at different locations!
I really enjoyed this video! I don't eat chicken, but it was still fun to watch you eat and compare the ones from different places. I really liked when you gave the info about karaage and where it started. And you used maps! 😁Thank you! I like details and little info like that so this was perfect! Yes, I'd like to see more videos like this of you trying different versions of one type of food! 😄
With Japan potentially opening up in the future, this video was a great guide for us to pick out some karaage spots. Love the format, and would like to see more of it for ramen, curry, gyudon, sushi, and more!
One of my favourite things in Japan. Even the convenience store karaage is awesome. I can't wait till Japan opens up again so we can go to these shops. In the meantime I will keep trying to make it. I use potato flour and marinate the chicken in ginger, soy sauce, peanut oil, sake, garlic and egg white. It is really delicious and crispy and juicy but I will now try rice flour as well. Thanks guys, this episode was awesome!
You guys can’t lose with the street food videos. I LOVE seeing you guys smiling and enjoying great food outside. Going to spring for geologie next week. Which products are your favorites?
Ah my family would have walked past the Asakusa karaage shops without realising how amazing they were when we visited Tokyo a few years ago. We remember our time in Japan by food: the okonomiyaki in Hiroshima, the gyoza in Akasaka, the Japanese style breakfast in Shin-Okubo, the yuzu soda in Kyoto’s McDonalds, the best fries ever in Matsuyama, the onigiri in 711 everywhere. All the shrines & temples & museums & shops were great but really just filled in the time between Japanese meals for us.
Hi Shinichi and Satoshi good to see you enjoy your Kara tour thanks for sharing this video with us all enjoy watching this video take care stay safe 👍❤️🏵️😘🥰😘👌👍❤️
I tried karaage chicken for the first time when I bought it from a nearby Asian store. It was so good. I believe all of the five karaage chicken looked good. 😋
They all look so delicious that I think they would all be my favourites!😋…I love your idea of “five best” and I’m definitely looking forward to the next instalment in the series🙂🙏🏻
I've been asking tokyo food youtubers to do a vid like this for a long time. kudos you both decided to dive in :D now i have a check list on where to go once i can finally visit tokyo again :D
These are the vids I really love from you guys and it’s in Tokyo!!!! IM GOING WHEN I CAN!!!!! 🍗🤤👍🏻 Hey the last place is a popular tv personality!!!! With the glasses!!!
A lot of those looked amazing! Especially the ones with a little spice! I love to do karaage with fish (as I'm trying to eat as little chicken as possible) and I even managed to convince my friend who doesn't like fish that it was good as karaage! Especially with a little yuzu koshō mayo on the side! 😁 I hope some karaage expert start making a version with tofu as I feel it would be amazing as karaage!
I really like the format! We get some good focus and it was lovely seeing so many famous neighborhoods. It's really hard to pick between all the delicious things we saw, but maybe the AKB?
I'll pick at least one of your picks and put it on my must try list for my next trip ! gosh I can't wait !!! u guys know to "sell" the best food to us the viewers ^^
i love karaage! my favorite place in Los Angeles is this small, Asian "fusion" hole in the wall. i usually get the pork adobo rice bowl and a separate order of karaage. with the karaage, it's too much food for just me, so i share with whoever i'm with. it's sooooo good!
Hello from Memphis Tennessee 😊 I really enjoyed this video. I love your idea of doing a series like this. They all looked good but the one with chili sauce looked the most delicious. Shinichi, your skin looks really nice! Thanks for sharing guys🤗
A very nice video, thank you! I do prefer less "mmmmmmmmm" while tasting though, but that's just my taste. Please keep up your very interesting videos!
I also had issues with my under eyes bags but I could solve it by increasing the amount of what I drink over a few weeks. I drink at least 3L per day, even I'm doing sports even more and that helped me a lot
Hi Shinichi,Hi Satoshi. The different chicken karaage dishes looked delicious 🤤. I’ve made karaage at home but would love to try the real deal if we get the chance to visit Japan 🇯🇵. AKB karaage was my favourite out of the 5. Loved the atmosphere of Tokyo as well. Look forward to more videos. Arigato. 😋🤪👍
Yukari crispy chicken very flavorful and juicy... managed to find this yummy karagaae after watching your you tube. Thank you so much for recommending...
I love Karaage, I think in a past video you had a bento box with it and it sounded so good so I looked for recipes to make it at home and really love the flavor and prefer it to the typical fried chicken we have in the US.
Here in Okinawa we have many great chicken karage places! I know because I've tried Many of them . Thanks guys for another informative and great video!
I can see why Japanese people love Karaage. You can never get sick of eating such a wonderful snack . The seaweed n black pepper one looked good 👍 . Loved the skin care products your skin is glowing Shinichi ✨️ I thought you were looking younger by the day ,so thats the secret 🤗🧡💛🧡👍.
I like this video since I love karaage. I didn't realize how many variations there are. Given the chance I would do the karaage tasting in a day too. I think I like the last one with the chili flakes since I like spicy. I also appreciated Satoshi's detailed commentary. Can't wait for the next themed food day.
Fried in rice flour? Interesting. I usually use flour but I am not a big fan of that. Too heavy. I tried using corn starch. I liked that better. Now, I can't wait to try using rice flour! Side note: I grew up eating a Mexican kind of pickled plum. But tastes very similar to Japan pickle plums. I learned how to use ume in more ways thanks to your videos! I get to eat it way more now 🤭.
You made Eric's favourite video hahaha he loves the fried foods in Japan. If he had his say we would eat it for dinner every day. In Kichijoji in a chicken restaurant near the park, I had chicken skin kara age. That was amazing as well.
chicken is something I can eat again and again and forever. Thanks for....' what shall I say?' (quote and unquote Satoshi san) such a yummylicious video. 😍😍👍🏽💖😊 I love the idea of choosing a favourite of an item. Please continue doing do.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 As for my fav kaarage it would Kin No Torikara. I'm just imaging the taste as I've never tasted a morsel...lol but I love the fact they allow you to drown the chicken with a large selection of sauces and the biggest plus is that it's all breast meat. 👍🏽👍🏽😋
I love this channel. Will you guys Show a recipe or send me a link to Cream Karaage I remember you having some on your other channel. I will TrAvel for Food. Thanks 😊

wow looks so yummy
How hard would it be for a tourist like me, who only knows a little Japanese, to order from food stalls/restaurants?
Asakusa for means Yabusame and all those shops selling plastic food for window displays!
They all look amazing. Is the chicken from kin no torikara breaded/battered more like kushikatsu? I want to make these.
Karaage Crawl! 😋
I love this channel. Will you guys Show a recipe or send me a link to Cream Karaage I remember you having some on your other channel. I will TrAvel for Food. Thanks 😊
Hmmm. Cream karaage? Not sure what that is….
