Ah you mean that scene we're the suit caught fire from the pyrotechnics.... I mean "Jesus Godzilla is on Fire?"
There's a lot to be said about the character development of Godzilla in this fight, that really goes to show the strengths of having brought Mechagodzilla back for a second movie; it's a lot like Rocky and Rocky II - with Godzilla just barely making it out alive in the first fight, but now having to prove that not only can he survive, but he can truly go the distance against Mechagodzilla.
It's clear in the first movie that Godzilla doesn't know what to expect from Mechagodzilla; he's only seen two of his weapons so far and Mechagodzilla has a ton more. But there's also the comradery shown with King Caesar who had already got royally beaten by Mechagodzilla; while it could've been easier to just stay-down and out of danger, Caesar chose to get back up and fight when he saw Godzilla was losing - it was an attempt to draw Mechagodzilla's attention and give Godzilla time to get back up. Unfortunately, although this worked it wasn't as effective as they'd liked, as Mechagodzilla was able to engage both of them from complete opposites of the arena.
I like to think that with the All Weapons Strike scene, Godzilla is taking a majority of the blasts; in a sense, he's shielding King Caesar from too much of the force. Caesar had only just woken up after hundreds of years; he's been out of practice at fighting and is unprepared to go-up against an opponent like Mecha-G.
But also see what seems like Godzilla and Caesar supporting each other during the bombardment; trying to keep each other on their feet. But after Caesar goes down, Godzilla advances on Mecha-G alone, taking a few missiles and the lasers to the neck; it's at this point that Mecha-G takes off. Maybe it had mostly exhausted its weapons, or maybe it realized that the constant barrage wasn't going to stop Godzilla.
In the Terror movie, Godzilla doesn't have to worry about keeping anyone else safe; he knows he has to do this quickly and also knows from experience that he can get through Mecha-G's barrage of attacks if he's fast enough.
By explaining everything about that scene, you made a cool scene even cooler. Great video.

I'm so glad this scene has finally been discussed. It is also one of my favorites and it's such a badass visual that I can't help but feel inspired by it when I'm going through hard obstacles in life. I have so much respect for suit actors and these scene solidifies it because the man put his life on the line just to entertain us.

Not many people talk about the personality of Godzilla which can be applied to us humans on a deeper level, this is one of those, that Godzilla is always determined and does not give up until he cannot continue the fight

Hell, even shin godzilla kept charging despite the us air force finally being able to wound it. Determination is a trait in all godzillas... to some degree in the 98 Zilla, because it was playing mouse until the ending chase.

I think I would actually be able to ware a Godzilla costume because I live in Texas where it’s hot all the time so being in a Godzilla suit won’t be a problem

Cloverfield: That scene where clover ate the camera man. It was desturbing and great has heck. The shot where she looks down at the cameraman and suddenley strike the guy the sound of screams and bone crunching was great in my opinion

You could do a whole video about how things can and did go wrong for the men in monster suits. I'm sure he knows, but Omni didn't even mention the bit about how the monster scenes were filmed at high speed then slowed down to help create that sense of seeing a giant creature in motion. So the guys in the suits essentially have to try and run around on set in those heavy, sweltering, cumbersome suits while being 90% blind.

I thought that was a cool idea for a video when you announced it, but I was honestly curious to see what you would do with the idea. You perhaps have a way of over analyzing the films, but I can honestly appreciate the perspective you put on them. I've even found myself using some of your arguments in defense of the series a couple of times and even got one of the guys I work with to watch a few films, arguably because of the perspective you have given me to discuss some of the classics. Thanks for that.
Awesome video!! I would have chosen The introduction battle of Godzilla vs. Monster X from Godzilla Final Wars! But the reason why I haven't made my one monsteris moment cause I wouldn't know how to explain it for people to understand why I like that moment. Great video Omni Viewer! :)

I'm surprised you went for that choice. I personally would have chosen the Pacific Rim gipsy Danger self destruction moment, but this isnt a bad choice at all.
