  • This is another video in my series “New Forest Walks” with my Whippet, Logan. In this episode, I explore the area to the North - East of Burley.
The 5 mile route is entirely in woodland with wide gravel tracks and fantastic scenery. My ramble takes me through Burley New Inclosure, Burley Old Inclosure, Dames Slough Inclosure, Anderwood Inclosure & finally Burley Outer Rails Inclosure.
During the video I explain the history behind the creation of the inclosures and some of the Acts Of Parliament that were required. Along the way, I discover a huge Ant Nest (!), a quaint Old Keeper's Cottage & two “sustainable” Forest cottages.

Another very interesting & beautiful walk! No need to apologize to me! My Dad worked for years w/ US Forest Service & growing up in Oregon, forestry was something that we always learned in school. So I have an appreciation for it - no matter the country!😁
Btw...Douglas Fir = Oregon State Tree. They are native here!🌲

Love old trees they have so much character, if only they could talk, our horses field is lined with trees that had been planted in the late 1800's. Never apologize for talking about history alot of the time that is the only way these things are kept alive for the future generations.
I would like to wish yourself, your family and viewers good health for staying safe during this period of uncertainty. Take care all 😘

What is the music you’re using in your videos Dave? Sounds like Chris Haugen but I can’t find the track! I’ve started rewatching all your videos and can confirm they’re just as enjoyable second time around everyone.

Ian, The music is indeed by Chris Haugen (from the RUclips "Free" library). The track is called "Firefly". Cheers.
