      No the gmc looks better then last year but the interior lacks when u look at the exterior. The ram exterior looks like ugly. But the exterior is nice. They should have swapped the interior and this gmc is a masculine truck with nice interior.

      I own a 2019 Ram Limited and would not trade for ANY other 1/2 ton truck on the market. I am a long-term Ford guy and even though I do like some of the exterior styling for both the GM twins(particularly the GMC Denali) the interiors of both these models are incredibly disappointing all the way to the top trim models. Nothing appears built and handles as well overall as the Ram and it's not even close. Just test drive a Limited and you are sold.

    Nice looking truck on the outside but the interior can’t hold a candle to the new Ram... that’s why when it came time to make the decision I purchased a 2019 Ram limited... still, the GMC is a great looking truck, I just spend more time on the inside than the outside. I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice. Great review, keep up the good work.

Totally agree with your comments about the lack of tech and overall 'premium' feel of the cabin. I was convinced I would end up buying a GMC Sierra Denali, but the interior and ride of the new 2019 Ram TOTALLY won me over. I have a 2019 Ram Limited parked in my garage now :-)

      In the past few generations of this brand of truck, I would have agreed but this time, sorry but this new gen I'll have to disagree here. The grill and the wheel wells looks a bit too gaudy, especially the gauge cluster shape and the center of the steering wheel(both look out of place, prefer the chevy's cleaner look). The Silverado High Country just looks and flows better IMHO and I can also have it's interior in all black too. So for me, I'll take the bowtie.

    • @THEDESTROYER711
      @THEDESTROYER711 6 лет назад +1

      Rob Arauza the Ram offers many options for the buyer from a Rolls Royce like interior with the limited to the tough bad ass interior of the rebel. Even the regular big horns or Slt’s are really nice places to be and it will definitely be more than anyone will ever need. The Sierra just feels outdated and to me it feels like GM didn’t even try with there new trucks. The interior is pretty disappointing and that exterior still seems really out of place.

      THEDESTROYER711 ram is the same as last generation look at then airvents and taillights and rear view design that's disappointing the Sierra may have similar interior but it's more rugged than ram ram is overrated the Silverado is way better for me, even f150 is better than ram I never compare ram with anything because anything (Chevrolet and ford) are better new ram looks like it has sunglasses on. A huge scrtis meaningless it has cars or suv interior which is bullshit and a damn knob for reverse and drive shifter. Sure it looks nice but damn do not say it's best because it's about people's opinions

    • @THEDESTROYER711
      @THEDESTROYER711 6 лет назад +1

      Rob Arauza like everything you just said is your opinion though. The Ram is definitely a rugged truck and will do everything aswell or better than any GM truck. It’s not even a comparison. Ram tried to innovate and improve while GM is following Toyota’s path of being slow and now caring about gaining new customers. I will take my Ram anywhere everyday of the week and will know I will make it there safe and comfortable. But the last GM truck my dad had barely was able to drive with no load or any work. First to second shift felt like the whole damn transmission was going to fall out.

    I'll keep my 2017 F-150 XLT, well equipped, has a 3.73 axle ratio & 36 gallon fuel tank. It's got a higher payload and towing capacity and an electric rear axle locker. It's very quick, handles like a sportscar, rides like a limo and still returns 20 mpg regularly. No start-stop, and less expensive than GM's. It looks much better too. I'm mixing apples and oranges here but I love my F-150.

    My overall impression is that aside from the slick tailgate, this is a lazy effort on GM’s part. They didn’t really change a whole lot, especially on the interior. I always felt that the interior on the previous generation GM pickups left something to be desired and this new one is no different. I’m disappointed that they kept the same look and didn’t try something new. I’m not an FCA guy but I think the new Ram is better than this.

    • @coryw.9086
      @coryw.9086 6 лет назад +3

      Here's the problem I have with Ram. FCA kept the same powertrain for the Ram, same transmission, same suspension, no new or exciting engineering, they advanced nothing under the hood. GM is all new (save for base V6/V8) I'm going away from Ram to a new GM. Ram did nothing to advance their product aside from a snazzy new interior (which I do like) and boring as butter exterior. I've owned a 2011 and 16 Ram truck's and I'm not buying a "all new" truck with the same horsepower I had in my 8 yr old truck. Think I'll be very happy with the Sierra SLT/6.2/10 speed I have on order.

    I'm in the market for a new truck to replace my aging 2012 F150. I must say this new Sierra is a front runner. Seems to offer the best mix of all the big 3 trucks which may be what they were trying to do.I don't take any issue with the interior, in fact I appreciate the simplicity and great tech for stuff I can really see myself using. While I like the new RAM, it falls pretty short on HP and engine options (GM and Ford trounce the top 5.7 RAM), plus I find the styling outside to be really bland and not much different from previous models. The new Fords are really nice too, love the power my 3.5 Ecoboost has but hated the lousy mileage and many, many problems. Don't like the Titan and the Tundra is just plain old. Think this leaves the Sierra as my possible next truck. Now to wait to see what the new diesel is like or just go with the big-gun V8?

  • @ethanschneider8888
    @ethanschneider8888 6 лет назад +11

    People are complaining about the interior but most people who buy these trucks are repeat buyers and repeat buyer like familiarity. I personally think the interior is a great change from the previous generation and yes it may not be as nice as the ram but it sure is a heck of a lot more subtle and easier to use, the ram is too over whelming. I think GM made a good call on working more on the exterior than the interior.

      JTL2017, exactly! GM dropped the ball big time with this! Their claim is that their customers “really liked” the interior design as it was, so they simply refreshed it for this generation! But if they’re trying to gain new customers, I don’t believe they’ll succeed! RAM is set to really grow in this market! They currently have the best interior!

    Great review, thanks. Was going to order but without ACC or pano roof I'll probably go to Ram 1500 Limited or Ford F-150 Limited. Why are they so behind when it comes to these features, especially when available on the Yukon and Acadia?

    Very informative video! Great job!
    I actually really liked the headlights and grill on the previous model it looked awesome, I just couldn’t get past the squared wheel fender cut out, that’s the only reason I didn’t go ahead and get it then. Now the c shaped lights they came up with, I don’t care for not so much, The only change I was really hoping for was a wheel fender cut out to match the shape of the wheels, rounded. Not a fan of the box shape cut out.
    I’m looking to buy a new truck, and was hoping to get the new GMC because I didn’t want the aluminum Ford or the Dodge Ram with the big screen distraction. I do like some tech but when I’m in my truck I want to feel like I’m driving a truck! Now I guess I don’t get a new truck!

    Good video and nice job taking your time explaining everything (compared to these other 5 min vids). After watching several of your videos, i would say cut out the height references. Kinda tired of hearing "short drivers such as myself".
    As far as the truck goes, in comparison to its competition, its hard to seperate the "needs" vs the "wants". Yea pano roofs and huge screens are cool, but how practical are they compared to the multi-pro tailgate, head-up display, etc..? These are "trucks" we're talking about. Yes the Ram is more appealing but it seems to be more of a toy as it has more stuff to go bad.

    The Warranty is by far better with GM than any other brand, I sold many different brand trucks and cars in my time, and Ford's warranty does even come close, nor Dodge, or any other truck or car manufacturer out there. If you ever owned a Ford and your paint starts to peel off the entire top, good luck with that!
    GM/CHEVY/GMC trucks are the best out there, period! DON'T DRINK THE COOL-AIDE, GM TAKES BETTER CARE OF YOU WARRANTY WISE!

      Ford Mavericks OS X I think he meant more of the shape and look of them rather than the quality. Old Ford pickups from the 70’s and 80’s had square gauges and this does remind me a bit of those.

    Previous generation had much niced gauges. Dissaponted with the interior but i still do like the simplicity of it. Overall very nice and would still choose it over the ram because of reliablilty.

    The exterior looks great, the interior, ummm, a bit behind and unfortunately following the formula of GM of old where their vehicles may have most of the features of competitors, yet it's cheap and not in a good way, all for a price that meets or exceeds the competition.
    Great review, as always! Fairly objective and 100% truthful. Thank you!
