    I was just there. Behind those happy faces there is sadness. I visited people who didn't know if they would eat the next day. Homes without toilet seats, they have to save money when they break. Homes falling apart, but they still laugh and make jokes.

    Cuba Government has done Revolution since 1962 to this day. My best wish to Cuban having better future since 03/2016 with great supports from Western Nations, the USA and Non-Communist Governments all over the World.

    Oh my god he is so disrespectful. I am offended by this program and I'm not even from cuba. When you don't understand a culture. Don't jump to conclusions. Keep your mouth shut and observe. Try to understand... People invite him into their home for dinner. He returns the favor by making smirky comments and drawing conclusions about stuff he doesn't understand...
    Cuba reminds me a lot of my country 20-30 years ago. I know what this looks like to a westerner. But I can say from experience, this is way better than what is coming. I would highly reccomend they don't change their system, and don't allow USA to be involved in their internal affairs. Shiny material stuff is irrelevant. You can see how lively the people are. And honest and kind...
    And I agree with what people are saying here. Look at some other countries in that same region. How does cuba compare? What is the crime rate? What is the mortality? They are way better off. And this is with a 50-year long embargo from USA.

    Venezuela is not under a trade embargo and yet it has turned into a hell hole. Cuba's issues have all to do with its lack of economic freedom.

    • @LucianoClassicalGuitar
      @LucianoClassicalGuitar 7 лет назад

      It's not like that. For example, if a foreign ship reaches Cuba for trade or whatever, said ship cannot go to the United States for 6 months. So the embargo has been made in such a way that it doesn't allow other countries to do trade with them.

    It's a great place. Money isn't everything they try and bring happiness through community and culture. There are problems with food of course but a US embargo is the reason for that. They US say there's no human rights but you could argue free food education and health care for all should be a human right. Plus with elections when there's been hundreds of USA attempts to kill the leader and replace them with one that likes the US that's undemocratic and probably suggests why Castro was so scared about his opponents. I would be.

      +Patrick McCarron so if embargo has little to do, why it is stll in place? usa can simply lift the embargo and let cuban comunism fail... why dont they just lift it?

    • @patrickmccarron5059
      @patrickmccarron5059 8 лет назад

      Nimali Liyanage, agree. But you can blame the poor conditions that everybody in Cuba belongs to the Castro Government, not the embargo. Ending the embargo will help communism fall - I agree - end it. It only keeps the Castros in power.

    the embargo gets overstated as the reason why the cuban economy is a disaster, and we all agree its a disaster. but the real reason is the failed communist market system, where making a profit is immoral and a crime. no one is gonna work for peanuts. cuba trades with the rest of the world except the US. cuba is capable of producing enough food to feed itself many times over and have extra to export. yet cubans starve, the reason is that farmers or anyone are not allowed to sell or establish businesses for profit. so there is no incentive to work or produce anything. would you work hard in the sun all day so the state takes your products and pays you 15 dollars a month, when your products are really worth 2,000 a month worth of profit? No. from time to time they allow some restricted free markets, the economy starts to pick up, and immediately, or at the right time they get shot down, fined, confiscated or people thrown in jail for "illegal profit" . this goes on n off throughout the years. profit is power, and the few running the state dont want anyone to challenge their power, this is the real reason the life saving free markets get harassed and or brutally regulated. the embargo is the escape goat, and this so called journalists fail to bring this into focus, and most of you cant see this either. that is why when obama offered to drop the embargo, the cuban government started making outrageous demands they knew were impossible, they dont want the embargo lifted because it will show the real reason why cuba is in ruins.

      There was no embargo to USSR and it failed. There was no embargo to the countries of Eastern Europe and their marxist systems failed. There was no embargo to China and they had to abandone Marxism or fail. there is no embargo to Venezuela and it has failed. What else do we want?

    • @s1050
      @s1050 4 года назад

      Bullshit. Every communist country has been attacked either militarily or economically by that great bastion of “freedom” the USA. Your capitalist system is pure evil and it doesn’t work either. The 2008 financial crisis ring a bell?
