I feel your pain when you talked about the exhaust hangers being a pain in the ass. Felt the same way when I did the Quicksilver exhaust on the R56 Mini Cooper S I used to have.
A word of advice: wipe the stainless parts down with some kind of alcohol wipe to clean off your fingerprints. The natural oils in your skin will burn in and cause uneven discolouration as the exhaust heats up. It's obviously not so much of an issue underneath where no-one will see it, but on the exhaust tips it'll be really obvious.
Personal opinion :) downpipe 70 mm at the flange to the turbo 76 the rest of the way :) 3"(76 mm) Magnaflow CAT + 860 mm Magnaflow end muffler and it sounds amazing :) especially for daily driving :)
Dimiter Dimitrov 3” exhaust loses power on the mini coopers even with the 47mm turbo Been tested and tested by the best pro tuner in America for minis:))) yes they sound good, but honestly just spend the money on a titanium exhaust;)
Oh I was just saying that a 3” inch downpipe and exhaust on a 1.6 mini motor isn’t optimal for power.. even with, a bigger turbo (the 47mm in particular) (and smaller)
@@matthewheitzman5993 I am running a slightly bigger one :) on that mottor but i still want to keep the stock look under the hood otherwise i can go crazy turbo and get crazy power but then reliability and gearboxes will be at a really bad place :)

Hey Milan, at 8:18 you talked about little carbon dots at back of your car. I have exactly the same dots on my car too. It shows up everytime I drive my car and it's driving me crazy. My car mechanic was trying to solve this but with no luck. Is this something we have to learn to live with? What causes this black dots? Is there a way to prevent them from being created once and for all? Mini Cooper S R56, N18B16A, 02/2010
Hey David, I found that with the new JCW rear bumper and diffuser, there is less, however it comes from the exhaust system and the junk that comes out of it. Because hatchbacks have a low pressure zone right behind the car, the exhaust gasses and carbon that comes out will get sucked upwards and onto the hatch.
I put on a CNT catless downpipe, bought two resonators from Summit, and had an exhaust shop straight pipe the rest. Great sounding turbo back exhaust for about $600.
any tips on how to get rid of the P0420 code that you can get after deleting the cat? Heard about some O2 sensor extenders that will trick the ECU and prevent a P0420 code from popping up with a cat delete. also please keep going with the minis videos!
Hello.. I live in Massachusetts and here I have to do an annual vehicle inspection. I would like to know if with this exhaust can my car pass on it? another thing that I would like to know if any light will on my car's dashboard. Thank you!..
I live close by to you then (in New Hampshire), was looking at this system for my '13 R56 and have the same concern and was wondering the same thing. I saw him reply to an earlier message stating he received no CEL but I'm contemplating the downpipe with the sport cat to decrease the chance of an issue.
From the sounds of it, it will not pass as there are no sound suppressing devices. If you remove all of them, it will cause your car to fail. Same thing goes if you replace your catalyst downpipe with a straight through downpipe.
@@milanmastracci Thanks for the reply and your MINI build series has been very helpful to me. I just bought a 2013 Cooper S and got started on the upgrades yesterday (Intercooler, pipes, CAI). Scorpion exhaust is next!!
I have a few questions about your down-pipe. I have looked and cannot find a Scorpion down-pipe in North America to purchase, where did you purchase yours? Do you prefer the flameproof paint over the titanium wrap? How sturdy is the paint, meaning, does it chip easy or scratch off? That is all I have for now, keep up the good work. Oh yea and I have a 2011 Mini Cooper S so it is the LCI version.
Hello guys! Much love from vegas! I need help! I'm doing a timing chain on my r56 2007 mini S and I'm stuck on the timing part! Problem: I've successfully installed the bottom locking tool that goes behind the oil pan, but the exhaust and intake camshaft tool doesn't properly sit flush, I can only lock one cam at a time. Question: My question is that if I remove the chain from the Intake and Exhaust camshaft and synchronized them flush, cause like I'm almost there, would it ruin my timing? (With both markings that are on the shaft still pointing straight up) Thanks for taking the time to read this!
So if you remove the chain, you will ruin the timing. Given that, you will be able to turn the camshafts independently after you remove the chain, allowing you to install the upper timing tools onto the cams. Once you do that, you will then able to time the engine correctly. I hope this helps! For more help, send me an email as it is hard to keep up with comments :)
you seemed disappointed with the new exhaust! I'm getting the NM downpipe + exhaust for my JCW.. from all the exhausts I've heard on youtube that system is pretty boss. has nice depth, nice volume; and precise.. you don't get a lot of that popping sound which I personally don't prefer. great video, good job!
Milan would you recommend sticking without the resonator for daily driving? How is it on hills/highway with drone? I've got a decatted straight pipe exhaust currently and am looking for a new exhaust system that will stop me getting in trouble with the police aha, love the videos and thanks alot!
Hey Klayton. So this exact exhaust that I have does not have much drone, and is no where near as obnoxious as my previous setup. You can easily use this setup as your daily driver. The tune that I have is the main reason why my setup backfires so much, but that can be removed / changed. I hope this helps :)
