Absolutely beautiful brings back precious memories. In Melbourne Australia in 1975 my father bought me a Deckson Devil with a white Kirby 4stroke pull start motor . It had a single drum brake rear and no suspension , I rode it for endless hours. Unfortunately some lowlife stole it , i cried for weeks.
@@allaboutminibikes I don’t do Facebook but would love to share pictures and a brief summary of bike restoration. Can I send you pics and a brief summary and you put it on Facebook?
Childhood memory... Cool neighbor kid got a new minibike from Montgomery Ward. Brown paint, fat fenders. Rode it up and down the street for a long time. Couldn't ignore it. Sounded like a mower.
My Dad had a Tote Gote when I was a kid. Lots of great memories trail riding on the back of that beast. What a great machine!! Loved seeing the Tote Gotes in this video.
one day i will find another 1973 Cat mini bike I had as a kid and buy it. Even though Im old and have had motorcycles and own fast cars, It was the coolest and most fun I ever had being 8 years old and speeding!!!
@@johnherrmann6879 mine was not an artic cat it was “ the cat” it was a 73’ or 74’ 3.5hp tecumseh comet torque convertor I have not found the model number or seen another like it I am sure mini bike guy knows more than me may know what is is
@@johnherrmann6879 thanks thats a great idea to reach out to guys who are really into it. i have not tried too hard too hard to find one yet. I had a few motorcycles and now own a few classic cars. The mini bike us nit too high on the list right now. One day when my grandkids are big enough, we will ride again!! best of luck to you , great talking with you!
I had Cat also, right about the same time you had yours, mid seventys. Mine was orange, I was the terror of the alley behind our house. I learned how to fix stuff by having that thing. Wish I still had it.
My first ride in the motorized world was 8/9 years old on the back of my neighbors Taco minibike. After years of begging i got my first bike which was a 72 Steen with an ace 100 motor.Everyone wanted to ride it.Older guys would want to trade bikes for a few laps.So i got to ride ride the yamaha 250s,bultacos, maicos and huskies. That little steen ripped and had alot of appeal.Great memories.Im 64 and still ride quite a bit.
Very cool. I had a Stella Mini bike in the late 60s. I put a kick starter on it, had a 2 and half HP Briggs a Stratton and it could fly. I tried on line but cannot find anything about them. Good video.
This could pass as an exclusive night club! All the beauties get to go inside while the riff-raff get left out in the cold and rain. Lol Each one of them seeing many hours of absolute fun and just looking for the right person to breath new life back into them!☺️
I cant believe all the bikes and parts I had as a kid. Rupps, mini trails you could get them for 25.00 or even free at the dump! All gone now,who knew.
Funny you should mention that. I see electric bikes Segways scooters and even bicycles with motors on them and the police don’t seem to ticket them. When I was a kid they got on you for that kind of thing.
I have a couple of questions. What is the average selling price for a fully restored Rupp Roadster? And are there Bird Engineering minibikes at some of these shows?
Fully restored Rupp, depending on the year of production, can go from $2,000 to $5,000 or more depending on how much it is wanted. Yes, Bird bikes are there, but there are many changes from year to year.
I have a question if anybody knows I dug up an old mini bike out of the very rear of my yard that used to be part of an alley many years ago my house was built in the 30s. Anyhow I went back there and there was a mini bike half buried covered in a bunch of wood and stuff and it appeared to have been there for decades because until recently no one could really get back there does full of Breyers and all that but it got mostly cleared out and added to my easement. So anyways I own this mini bike now and I'm restoring it and I cannot find model number or serial number anywhere and it had surface rust but when I first lightly started sanding it it was coming out this old school yellow color I'm going to change that cuz I hate the color yellow personally but I'm thinking blue pearl is going to look good but while I was standing every inch of this thing down to the bare metal to smooth out any painted services or anything like that and Have Nots uncovered a single digit anywhere on the bike. Did they not put serial numbers on then back then?
Good find. Serial numbers could have been on a plate that was affixed to the bike but came off. Show the frame on some mini bike Facebook channels, and somebody may be able to identify it. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍 Dan
@@allaboutminibikes thanks for the info! I figured that might be the case unfortunately and it was probably on the side that was submerged in the ground. Maybe it was stolen decades ago did you tell her to have been there for at least 40 years and it still has the old Tillotson motor on it. Which is obviously kind of seized up but I'm going to fill it with automatic transmission fluid and let it sit for a little while I already emptied and fogged it on the inside but hopefully the old Tillotson motor salvageable
I love the fat tire minibikes!!!!!...-John
Love seeing these minibikes! Thanks for sharing.
Much more fun than big motorcycles.
and more fun than a girlfriend😂

Now I want a mini bike !! ✌😂
The Police department loves giving tickets to Mini bike riders that are just having fun. GOD-BLESS.

I so want to buy one of those bikes!
Maybe I missed it but didn’t see any Rupp mini bikes. I has a 1971 Rupp Roadster 2 when I was a kid.
Sometimes, a few Ripps show up but not at every show.
My cousin snagged my hornet mini bike but my brother gave me his Hornet ! A lot of fun growing up riding these mini bikes
Some real nice iron in there...
I have a ruttman chopper near complete...found at the city dump
Do you or anyone know what happened to Eagle Park race track for minibikes in Novi Michigan?
I don't, but someone on the Facebook page Michigan Minibikes should. I'll ask.
yeah good Old days I had in one in 1975
Only 1 and a 1/2 Rupps. Was hoping to see more....
All they had at the show.
What was the first blue one ?
Where can I find parts For a 70s ruttman grasshopper...I need a tank and seat maybe couple other things
Marketplace or swap meets, but some mini bike Facebook groups sell parts also. Good luck!
And also how much are the Chrome fenders I need some for a spider

Hey 🙋 The Red bike at your station , what is that ?
We made that build from scratch. Totally homemade frame from raw tubing.

I don't understand the appeal of a chopper mini bike. They aren't street legal and were intended for trail riding.
Cool looking though

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on who comes to the show
