- Converted from 16mm original film by Al Warner, it's 15 minutes of 1970 Rupp Scrambler models. Includes factory footage with Mickey Rupp himself. Some color correction was done, but unfortunately film was very faded. More mini bike information at www.pinrepair.com/minibikes
Charles Rupp was a retiree in SWFL when I became his Insurance agent. He had no idea I had been a HUGE RUPP FAN ! Born in 1970 I saw many growing up. I remember hearing about a RUPP w2 centrifugal clutch setup. Worked like a top end overdrive. Anyone seen these??
Yes I do remember,it made a mini bike more like a motorcycle and that was the one everybody wanted!
Been riding for over 50years,
Still have a Bell helmet just like
The ones those kids in the
Start of this video.
Two of my friends had Rupps
Thay were cool most of us
Had Hondas 50s and 70s,
But Rupps were still popular.
I loved the 70s most of the
Places we rode in those days
Are built on or fenced off now , I have to go a ways
To ride in the dirt now, but
Motorcycles are a big part
Our family and will be for
Generations. Oh I still have
A Honda xl70 and ride it all
The time it's funner then my

i had a rupp in 1966 dad brought it home out of the blue. took me out in the country to ride it. years later he said it was to keep me off the corner.
Had a RUPP as a kid.
u could ride a minibike on a beach?... now you cant even walk on a beach in some places
Sure wish we could buy quality mini bikes like rupp made today instead of Chinese crap
Ha this never happened. The mini Bike riders were usually running from the cops lol
That’s about the truth. 😂😂🏍️🏍️🏍️🚓🚓🚓
Amen I wish people still were like this.
our dad bought us4 bros. & 1 sister, two rupp roadsters back in 1971 an we litteraly wore a track in tha yard around our house that is still there to this day allthough tha grass has grown over it now but only god knows how many miles we rode those two rupps, around & around our house , i remember one time me an a brother of mine out ran two honda sl 70s in tha subdivision where we grew up , lol u cud put your left foot on tha torque converter cover an press in on tha governer with your heel an those ole 5hp motors would wind up tite an what a ride it was. now its 2024 an those two rupps are still togather , not bad for a mini bike 😎
My buddy bought a new Rupp in 1970-it was like a dragster compared to my Fox Sprite-I was really jealous! Good memories-thank you for posting this!
I bought a Rupp Roadster in 1973 with the money I made working for my dad over the summer. I loved it! Rode it all over the rural subdivision we lived in at the time. I had it for almost 20 years until it was stolen out of my shed in 1992. I'm still riding a KLR 650 51 years later.
I wanna go back in time...preferrably with more money so i can buy a rupp roadster.
Good old days with mini bikes. 😊❤
Can you imagine the law suites today? Cross draw cop is cool👍
I had the rupp enduro loved that thing 5 hp .
Not CARB certified for your location, even if it is now all you can afford for transportation.
You build your own illegal predator engine now and throw it on a vintage frame
@16driver16 Right, at least thought about that, but with a California address, they say with their little disclaimers not eligible to be delivered to your location
@johnnealis6826 oh it's different in Washington where we can't get the bike with an engine but can get away with certain loopholes
@16driver16 That's the loophole they have covered here in California, if the engine itself isn't CARB it won't ship.
@@johnnealis6826 you'll just have to make a trip outta state to pick one up? Or get the 60v 1000w electric
