Do you know how happy I'm gonna be when Ryan films his first feature and I get to go on set? :D haha Film Riot is incredible go sub them if you havent!
Shout out my channel
Enjoy your time here in the great state of Texas! I have been a fan of Film Riot for years and a fan of yours for almost two years.
Excellent video, Matti 👍 So interesting to hear about the variety of roles that take place on a set like that!
That's a lot of roles...on a set🤯 I and my frnds are making a short right now and realized that me (I'm the dp😎)and my director are playing one or the other role of all the people on this set. I can really imagine how much affort it takes to get the things done. Thank you Matti for keeping us all motivated and great job to all the guys at film riot. You guys inspire us 😇
Would be awesome to make short films with viewers and the dope squad, definitely a unique item and series on youtube. I volunteer!
Wow! The amount of people on set is incredible. I can see why Matti often talks about being a good person to work with! It’s easy to think that you can one man band it, but really to make bigger films you have to work with a lot of people. Such a cool behind the scenes. Makes me want to collaborate on something!!!
I've been following Matti and FilmRiot for years now and this was one joyful collaboration! Great to see a BTS of whats to come and really nice to see Matti working on something different to usual. Great job everyone, keep it up
Agreed
Film riot fans where you at!
here Lol
Me too
I remember when josh and Emily were just kids :,)
"Filmmaker reacts to actual filmmakers"
Uuuuh burrrrn!!! 🔥
No need for the hate, bro! Everyone’s doing their own thing.
Garrett Kiger nah man, this is a MASSIVE difference between youtube “filmmakers” and actual filmmakers. and Mauricio is completely right
@@PlagueRiddenBlightSpawn So so true preache man preach!!!
Oliver Nicholson ever heard david sandberg?
I love how people are so proud of there roles
Very interesting Matti, the guys from Film Riot are absolute pros in their business! I also love that bts concept video, nice idea for your vlog.
They really are and this was next level!
"I plug in phones and I vacuum"
Please, I'll like to be your assistant.
lol - depending on the salary i would like to be his assistants assistant, who has a extra guy working from them who has an assistant. That's me :P

"I am producer"
Cuts to next person..
"I am assistant caterer" omg really?
"Whats your job"
Everyone: ERRRRMMMMMM
Most understated but super important part was to see how Ryan and Chase were so excited and enthusiastic even through hour 10 of the shoot. So dope to see their passion through the work and crew.
I’ll love to be a part of such a set one day
This is the collab I didn’t know I needed.
why do all key grip look like they descended from the mountains of Olympus
Roscoe dillman it’s a prerequisite. Look it up.
Good
So true 😂😂
Nobody will ever know

I love these guys. Been a fan of FilmRiot for years, and got the chance to work with them in the past. I live 3 blocks from their office.
Behind the scenes of a film set is always so interesting to see! MORE!
What a crew?! Here in the Philippines that number of crew is already for a mainstream full length film. Hope we can have that luxury. ;)
to be honest these guys have an unnecessarily large crew
Mindblower how much goes into a film. Mad respect man! Thanks for sharing this Matti!
Our cameraman and editor started learning to create videos in 2012. Famous folks said to learn as you keep create. Our crew are elderly guys with previous injuries, disabled vet, and no budget. So the lights are smaller, the camcorders are 1080p for RUclips production (and cheaper) and we use a trail camera for wildlife filming. Still, we learn from the GREAT behind the scenes filming by the PROS in the business (that would be you guys) and we make videos to help out the community, give creative people an outlet and it's fun in the boonies. Thank you very much for the film about filming.
SO MUCH EQUIPMENT!!!! Would so love one day to be part of movie making.....So much creativity involved in such a small area, you must have been in heaven. 👌🤘🙃
Haha it was just incredible to watch!
Alwin Joseph actually got my first media pass for an Irish music festival. Almost done editing the video and should have it up hopefully Sun or Mon. You should check it out when i post it
Alwin Joseph no, but closer than a normal vlog. It’s a music festival where I was granted all access back stage with the bands and got some great footage. Everything else i have done has been purchased vacations.
I love how everyone else is being like all friendly with him then he goes to the producer and his response is "producer." lmao
We need a 2 hour long start to finish in depth behind the scenes.. how they write it, how they pick who plays what part, how do they choose cameras and lenses for what scenes, how to they choose locations and how do they set it up. How do they choose where to put lights on the set up. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow! their is so much system, when we make short film(amateurs)we just set up camera and shoot the actor and done. Respect for professionalism
What are you? "Producer" What do you? "I dont even know."

How cool was everything without Covid-19...
I know right?
covid is a false pandemic to distract people from truth.

This was insane, Netflix should take this video of your hands
WHAT A LOAD OF WORK !
AND
HOW GREAT IT MUST BE WHEN YOU GET TO SEE THE FINAL PRODUCT.
HANDS DOWN RESPECT TO THE GUYS DOING ALL THE HARD (HEART) WORK
BUT NEVER WILLING TO TAKE THE CREDIT FOR IT.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Congrats on 750k subs Matti!
Hey Matti I have noticed over the last 6 months that bump behind your ear has gotten larger and larger, it could be just be a sebaceous cyst but might be worth a check up?
yeah i have noticed
Im sure he's aware of his bump, and has taken care of it.
bucci ramos 🤣🤣🤣 We came here for this reply and you didn’t let us down 🤣🤦♂️🤣
I do have the same
🤣I love this comment
I cant wait to see the short film you’re gonna make Matti!
Me too!
Matti you have no idea when i say "This has been the best behind the scene I have seen in a long time" you would not know how much this helps amateurs around the world. Big ups to you mate
Been a fan of both you and film riot for a long time...it was kinda surreal to see you on a film riot set!
Thanks for sharing your experiences with us!! Very inspiring as a film student to see all of this community to look forward to.
Watching these Canadians sweating their butts off in my home town is actually making my day.
Behind the Scenes! Come on. Gotta love it. Thanks for taking us with you. Let's Connect and Grow!
LOVE LOVE LOVE to see you connecting with Film Riot! Been watching them for like 6 or 7 years and have been watching you for like 2 years. Its so cool to see you and them connect! Love it!
Totally feel you about the heat! I moved from Canada to Oklahoma 5 years ago, and I'm still not used to it!
I remember the days when I thought I could make a whole short film with just a small crew, glad you mentioned how many people you actually need!
You can make a short film with a one man crew, one actor and natural light. The scale of a production isn't indicative of a quality final product.
Yeah, you really can do this with a 1 or 2 or 3 person crew, but it’s WORK, it takes time to both think through and set up, and you gotta know your #@%~!
@@johndeggendorf7826 Yea i agree, don't get me wrong i've always loved BTS videos but I do think it's a little unfair to say that "this is how a quality short film is made"...there have been plenty of quality films made that only had a few people in the crew. You don't need 50-100 people to make a great film. Even Stanley Kubrick only used very few people on set and i'm pretty sure his films are quality lol
Quality really just comes down to how much prep you’ve done. Plan, plan and then plan again. It also helps that constant enemy of running out of time.
@@crossnetworkllc Yes i agree with you, i still dont agree with the original guys comment though. I dont think you need a huge crew to create a quality film. Like you said, you must plan and plan and plan. As long as you have talented/versatile people in your crew you dont need a giant crew. There are a lot of filmmakers out there who are equally excellent at doing different jobs on set. IMO it seems pointless to waste money on extra hands verses using that money for important things on the film. I believe quality isnt how many people you have helping on set, its spending the budget wisely and choosing the right people. Quality films can be made with almost no money if planned and done correctly
Awesome video Matti. Thank you for reminding me why I love this job. And for pointing all those amazing HARD WORKING people that you never see on frame.
I ❤️ film riot!
This was epic 👊🏻
So happy to see you collabing with Film Riot. Ryan is truly THE MAN and the reason many of us do what we do. Can honestly say he is the inspiration that led me to a career behind a camera. BLESS 🙏
This was just PHENOMENAL< I love movie making. Great Job Matti and FilmRiot.
Matti with film riot never would I have thought great video
I've been on 3 short movies behind the scenes as the photographer and behind the scenes videographer, the amount of hard work for a short film is incredible, and I learned a lot with those experiences, watching you make me miss those days
It's amazing seeing all those different cameras they have out there on set too... Soo much work.
Unbelievable how much work it is
10 hours.... Filming in a house... Now I appreciate the short films more honestly.
Thanks for showing us what it's like! Learning a lot.
Love seeing more actual filmmaking content from you, thanks for the inside look! Film Riot is awesome
Awesomeness! Have been watching film riot since the begining and they really are great. Interesting to see how many jobs are double and triple covered.
Thank you Matt!! 😎 thanks for keeping the dream alive
This video is so amazing, my mouth was open from start to finish of this video. This is actually my first time seeing a behind the scene since i decided that i want to be a film maker... thank you so much Kuya Matti for uploading this video you're the best!!! 👊🏻
tbh this is the kind of content that youtube needs to see for something to aspire to.
Vlogs and youtube are well and good, but THIS is what people should be inspired to strive towards.
Anyone else overjoyed that FilmRiot and Matti are collaborating!!!!!
I've been a fan of Ryan and Film Riot for quite a while now. They're entertaining and educational. I loved the bts here Matti! All that gear! It's actually intimidating!
Imagine all these, and then piracy.
Piracy & the ppl who purchase it, are all criminals. The budget for production is very expensive
I love seeing the creators I've watched over the years come together.
Process of film creating . looks like a magic
I also want to say Film Riot is the 1st film making channel I started to follow when my high scool video broadcast teacher would refer them. About 7 years ago.
And peter mckinn was my 2nd channel I subed and Matti is 3rd
It is nice of you to show the in-details of a film making set Matti! I enjoyed this video and feels good for being aware of these things!
Oh man I enjoyed it so much too
I haven’t watched a film riot video in years! I am glad they are still at it! I got some catching up to do! This is so awesome to see!
This is a beautifully shot video! Everyone gave a lot of insight to all the moving parts behind the filming process. Whether it's a short film, or a feature length film, there's a lot of things to consider and be mindful of. Thank you for sharing this fantastic glimpse behind the scenes of the creative process!
Matti, I do love you, I learn alot from your videos that help me in my vlog, thanks very much bro,
I love this vlog so much its just wonderful..Film Riot and Matt collabs should be quite often this was wonderful well done
You're inspiring me to build and grow a youtube channel! I've been watching you since 100k subs! Keep it up brother!
Hey Thank you bro for the AWESOME BTS!!! I been waiting Film Riot for years.. I just love watching filmmaking BTS. We appreciate your service!
Well this should be a series, because ofc you can't put it all into a short video. I found the crew part interesting but the rest was a bit much blabla as always. What I would have loved to learn:
- How to put together such a team? Where do I find good people?
- How did they find their location and why exactly this one?
- Prepruduction like planing the shots
- What difficulties appeared on set that they didn't expect?
- What decisions had to be made on set?
- And so on..
RocketJump has a great series and D4darious also has great videos. I agree the video was a bit short for what it was.
Thanks for sharing man. As someone who has recently starting to understand and appreciate what film making is all about, it’s pretty awesome to get to see things you revealed. 💪🏼👊🏼👍🏼🍻
Agreeed! So fun to see BTS
I'm just on my first two minutes and I'm mindblown already.
I'm a sound recordist on short films. I love being on a shoot. I love watching the other depts do their thing. Learned loads about film making. I learned what a tail slate was the hard way. Lol.
this is the crossover I have been waiting literal years for
Welcome to texas, great too see a group of people working and creating masterpieces while loveing every minute of it
Film Riot are great. you should make a short film with them
Agreeeed
Awww.. looking forward to that short film knowing that I'm a fan of Film Riot..
Good Job Everyone..
My God.. looking all those process makes me fall in love more in Film making.. Lovin it
I like how they answer with what they say "today"
Really great behind the scenes! Awesome to see the OG Film Riot doing big things. They’ve educated us for years. Look forward to their BTS and breakdown.
wow, enjoyed this seeing the director , dp , grip etc all
Been watching film riot for many years, Ryan is super talented. Good. work on behind the scenes Matti.
Superb to see two of my favorite RUclips channels collaborate. This is just wow.
Wooooow. Matti rencontre Film Riot. C'est un rêve qui devient réalité. Great job Matti. Merci pour cette vidéo
I’ve been following Film Riot for all their 10 years! Fun to see you post a bts video of the set of their new short! 😍
It is so crazy seeing you and the Connellys on the same set. I started out with film riot and then switched over to you when their stuff got too large for me to follow. They got so advanced that it became irrelevant for my low budget stuff
I’ve learned sooooo much from them!
I'm a big fan of Ryan and Film Riot as well as a fan of yours Matt. Thank you for the BTS.
my brother-in-law works on film sets in Toronto. He tries to sneak his car into each show at least once so we know that he was part of the crew. He is the guy that really got me into RUclips in the first place. His channel consists of taking old 70's cop shows and re-making them using the same dialogue but with plastic figurines.
Everyone seemed really nice! That director seemed like he didnt like being behind camera. I think teamwork is part of why filmaking is so awesome.
Best. Collab. Ever
I really want to get into some acting gigs! Things like this look so fun
Two of my favourite creators working together ❤️ so awesome!
Nice to see you work with Ryan at Film Riots and thanks for the BTS!
So good! We would love to see more of this behind the scenes on bigger sets!!! Thank you for being a fly on the wall Matti!
This reminds me a lot of my graduation film, also a short film but we were all just students, little money but a lot of fun and you learn so much!
The collab of the century
Insane how big of a team you need to make awesome stuff!
I really love this video! I love to see behind the scenes of a film set cause I want to explore that for a career path!
This is awesome to show what happens on set.
Great job with the behind the scenes, really enjoyed seeing all the gear and people involved in making a short film of this caliper. Film Riot does some amazing stuff cant wait to see the finished film.
This is so awesome! A really cool intersection of two of my favorite channels on youtube! Hope you enjoyed being on set, my dude.
Thank You For Sharing This!
I wouldn't mind being a gopher for a film. From getting Starbucks to Jersey Mike's, and getting vehicles for an upcoming film.
Super cool to see the BTS of such amazing filmmakers! Ryan is one of my favorites!
You guys inspire us 😇
I LOVE FILM RIOT! I'm so glad you did this!
Congrats on 750k subscribers Matti!
