Their football final was scheduled to happen 3 days after the Eurovision final. There wasn't enough time to get the Eurovision stuff out and everything for the football in. Not only that, but the EBU asked Sweden to make the contest a bit simple and a lot more warm this year, because of the uproar that happened with Azerbaijan last year.
Let me see how many people can fit inside this cozy room: 15,500= Total +Stage +Ground Seating +(maybe green room) +commentary rooms +sound system operator +that place where Jan Ola Sand sits +area behind stage covered I guess we have space of around 10,000 to 13,500, Still nice to have everyone being close up to the singer, even though i would have preferred a 40,000 concert at Solna/stockholm. Oh well, Good luck Malmö!
Aww. This makes me excited and I don't even live in Europe. It makes me wish I did. Last year was the first time I watched Eurovision and I loved it. :)
Some videos have duplicates. Cesar has been posted twice for example (once as Cesar and once as Cezar and it's pretty much the same video). Sort it out! :P
In Stockholm there's Ice hockey world championship I think.... and the new Friends Arena just outside of Stockholm in Solna is booked for something else I think. Göteborg/Gothenburg didn't want to have it so Malmö was left of the three bigger cities, close to the Europe aswell with the Öresund bridge.
I'm so excited! I just wish I had money, tickets and a passport so I could go to Malmo! Anyway I live in the UK, and if were all quiet enough I'm sure we will hear the music over the sea! :D I just really hope the UK get drawn a good starting position this year. I would love Bonnie Tyler to perform anywhere between 15th - 26th! :) Good luck to all countries! :D
true, many hostels/hotels are full during that week i can hardly find room in a reasonable price. It would be funny if Denmark wins the contest and hosts the show next year.
I've never been there and I'm sure you might be generalizing a little too much but even so, it might be to help the city out. Publicity can do wonders.
Why SVT choose to have it in a smaller hall its because in the old days ESC wasnt about big fancy arenas, huge stages etc. It was to bring a war beaten continent. We're not in war now, but a huge financial crisis, a new "war" to fight.
I am in Malmö every day and I've never seen anyone wearing guns or people fighting. It's so exaggerated how dangerous Malmö is, it's more or less the same amount of crime as in Stockholm or any other bigger city in Sweden. And they chose Malmö because the city could offer a better organisation, as well as a good symbol of multi-nationality and culture.
not true at all... I live here and i have been living here my whole life, that's just what people say but honestly, it's a great city and it's not dangerous, trust me.
I'm sorry but I don't like the video that is representing Lithuania - my country. There should be a video that is from another concert like M.A.M.A. 2012. That would be so much better :)
aahahahahahahaha, no man, it is not dangerous, i was there in January, it is really nice place, only in Rosengord (i think this is how it is called) is maybe dangerous, but the rest of the city is really nice
Are you for real?? Can't imagine where you went if what your saying is true. You must be an unlucky person. Been there more times than I can count and have never exprienced any violence what so ever.
People complain a lot about Malmö!! Small city, small arena, too much crime (not worse than Stockholm), nothing to do... Spoiled people! Don't like it? - Then don't bother to watch. That simple. And then wish for something better next year.
lmao, really? Malmö is a beautiful city and has a reputation to be "dangerous" which is not true. Sure, there are a lot of immigrants, but really, "I see people wearing guns and immigrants fight and people get hurt"? Way to exaggerate..
hahahahahaha this is so funny because I have lived in malmo for 17 years and I have been in shady areas lots of time and it's absolutely not like that over here. Stop telling lies and stop scaring people.
Why did Sweden pick Malmo? I live in UK and I have been in Malmo over 5 times and it is a dangerous city, Everytime I visit Malmo I see people wearing guns and immigrants fight and people get hurt. Hooligans everywhere. It's always caos. :/
I'm going to be there and watch it live! :) I'm so excited! Can't wait! Esc see you soon!

The reason that the final is in Malmö is because we have Icehockey-World Cup at the samt time, that's why we have it in Malmö. Please understand!
Can't wait for the 1st semifinal =)
I want mooore of this!
Will you upload the official music video of Germany? Cascada released the official music video in February 1st and it currently has 1,4 million views.
Keep an eye on the conditions for thoose building the stage in Malmö.
Still do not understand why they didn't go with Friends arena in Stockholm. So much better.
If it is, where is the stage?
eurovision.tv, will we have a studio version of the Azeri entry? And if yes, then when will you upload it?

2:07 It will be in a Hockeystadium?
I've never been there and I'm sure you might be generalizing a little too much but even so, it might be to help the city out. Publicity can do wonders.
but moldova is singing in romanian and in the video aliona is singing in english? will you put the romanian version?
This year the winner will be Denmack, I think! :)
Is true that Belarus has changed their song? @Eurovision
No, they did not choose Malmö for a better organization, because both the Globe and the brand new Friends Arena was fully booked.
Who has the best song this year? :)

I wished Eurovision was in Stockholm.
