For all of us Tim, "the less we play" the "better" 😎 I like to just wear the guitar and dance
The looks on Tim’s face as he plays makes his videos worth watching.
The lifetime of knowledge and tips he shares helps too😊
You have such a lovely aura and a down to earth, no-ego, transcendent love of music and sharing your knowledge! Thank you!!!! What a privilege: You, the internet, RUclips. Those of us in small towns, who grew up in the 1960s...and somehow "never left"... are just no longer isolated. It's awesome!
Tim you are the man!!! Love hearing you play and explain. Makes me want to play every single time I hear you. I love to use your runs.
Happy New Year. I really love your content, approach, attitude, delivery, teaching style and your passion for tone and excellence! God bless you Tim Pierce!
!!!Spectacular solo!!! I love it when you leave room for a lick to resonate…You’re the best man!
My credo eversince: Ask not what a song can do for you. Find out, what you can do for the song. That helped and motivated most of my pupils to enhance their skills.
Your pupils are very lucky to have you as a teacher
Thats JFK Ripoff.
@@TheSIeepyhouse Your point of view, ok. But despite JFK it's a princip to be an active teamplayer who works on creating win-win no matter it's a band, family, company, football team, social society ...
@@hansmeissner734 Glad you help with music, I read your words and I know who said it first. If it works for you, Im happy too. “Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country,” John F. Kennedy's inaugural address January 20, 1961,
Good new year to you, kind sharer of grooving guitar Philosophy. Why just earlier this morning or late last night... I listened to the “Toy Matinee Live” CD that featured you soloing and riffing and KG laughed (very much like you do when you throw a slurey of triple 20s of riffage) when he introduced you to the audience and they roared! What a band you were in and what a record you guys made. Still to this day...it is amazing in so many ways. So much talent on one stage. I hear your playing on so many records/CDs that I have gone out of my way to buy, back when we all did that at any Tower Records store, open ’til midnight. We were all so lucky to be free to follow our hears and ears into our minds your music was welcomed and desired. We are all here now enjoying your presence. Thank you for all you do! Peace, prosperity and Maximum Respect
Watching the replay afterwork Tim. Happy New Year.
Cheers 🥂
Love your playing and thought process in regards to playing off the music and serving the piece of music.
I've been watching all of your videos for a few years now and I think this is absolutely one of your best by far!!
I absolutely love your content. I always come away encouraged. You always give food for thought. I always say "OK, I'm just gonna watch the video" then I end up strapping my guitar on and start practicing. Thanks Tim!
Absolutely correct Tim! Finding the right balance of what to play to support the song or the backing track is always essential to become a better musician. Whenever I am listening to your playing you always prove me right! Leaving spaces to let the song breathe and speeding up and playing more notes and more complicated stuff, if the backing track gives you enough space. And exactly that is why you are in my top 10 list of guitarist! Thanks for sharing! highly entertaining and educational! Love it! Cheers DimiZ
Hi Tim, I enjoyed your show, so much information given. Thanks for the information also, about James Harrah, and starting a band. You both make the guitar sound so good. Try and stay safe, and all the best, in the year 2022..
Love it, thanks for all you share Tim. Today vs before ... seems to define the essence of exquisite jazz approach, and a hard rock attack approach. Your playing, and expertise, is amazing.
This was an awesome video Tim! Chock full of excellent info. The playing, great as always and I especially enjoyed the subtle nuances with dynamic volume changes and pick attack variations.
Thank you Tim! You are an amazing blessing to guitar players and music lovers in general!
So far beyond where I am after 64 years playing. I subbed. Thank you sir! Did not listen far today as I'm off to work. I shall return. I shall gratefully learn!
Thanks for all your help Tim, and happy new year
Thank you Tim for sharing the Guitar Psychology, never really thought about it in that way- every instrument in the track has it's own place of "Real Estate" on the map for sure. Your playing and instruction always enlightens! Happy New Year to you and yours
Chris Standring's guitar class taught me a valuable lesson: that SPACE is a note. This video is a freaking amazing, great analysis of the various techniques.
Such a blessing to just watch the master! Thanks, Tim.
I love Tim. His knowledge is priceless, goes beyond millions of dollars, billions at that....happy 2022, I hope this year kicks 2021 right in the nuts
Thanks for the laugh!
😎
Love how unselfish he is with his knowledge. Thanks Tim!
Always a pleasure; happy new year!
Thank you, Tim! Btw, love the gold top. Absolute beauty!
This is really helpful. Thank you. Good to be reminded that it can be a process that takes several tries.
Great demonstration/ advice! Thanks Tim! Love you long time!
Happy New Year Tim! I enjoy watching you play. Thanks for all your tips.
Happy New Year Tim 🥳 Great video ! You are fantastic! Thank you 😊
Awesome info! I particularly appreciate the lesson on how to do vibrato which I have been struggling with so that info is definitely going to help. I enjoyed the gear demo you did at the end too 👍🏻👍🏻
Hello Tim,
Best witches and I want to thank you for being a bless for all of us riff and groove lovers out there!
I real inspiration
Thank you again!!
1. Your new curtains are far superior to your old ones.
2. Thank you for all your knowledge. And the smiles. Between you and Cory Wong teaching I have found myself wanting to learn and to play again and I feel like myself again. 🙏🏼
You're a guitar god, Tim. A GUITAR GOD!!!!! When I grow up, I want to play just like you. Uh, . . . wait a minute. I'm already 57! Oh well. It was a nice thought. 🤔 😱 😬
Man, Dave. I thought I was the only one left using a Line 6 echo park? Made me smile! You are a blessing to all of us, sir!👍🏻
Thanks Tim, this video helped me with a mix. You helped me remember to make the music breathe.
Wow!!! Tim you are so good that there are no words that describe your knowledge , ability & execution! Phenomenal. You are so gracious to teach what you know! Thanks. ✌♥️
BTW, do you ever get out on the road, or are you totally committed to teaching from your sudio?
Happy New Year, Tim. Thanks!
Love your knowledge and advice Tim. So great to listen to your insights.
I played with David Jordan for a couple of years and did sessions with Mike Chapman amongst others. I believe you played on Davids album 'Set The Mood'...
Anyway love it! Happy New Year!!
Brett
Love the joy, the face when you hit the zone 😊
As always wonderful Tim. Thank you! Love to get that backing track!
Always learn something in this vids, one of my favorite guitar channels
Happy New Year to You and Yours. May Love, Light, and Music always Shine from Your Soul...
Same to you!
Thank you, Tim 🙏
Happy New Year to you and yours 🎉
Same to you!
Awesome lesson and video! I especially enjoyed the explanation of how superstars like Santana operate and why they would need studio musicians. Very insightful. Thanks for this.
Happy new year Tim.
Sublime playing, as always!
Love from Scotland 🏴👍🏻
I really appreciate it :-)
Happy New Year Time!! Gotta say your tone and sound is just soo awesome and rich! Love your content!
Hey thank you very much
bummed I missed this livestream but its great I can see it now. Tim was awesome on Rick's livestream last night.
Thank you Tim, this was very enlightening.
This gentleman is a true genius. He has been blessed with the gift of making easy and simple what others become complex. For Tim nothing seems difficult, you can see how everything flows naturally from his hands. My respect and admiration for him. Thank you very much Mr. Tim.
Wow, thank you
Happy New Year from Lake Wales Florida. Thanks for the videos on RUclips
Same to you!
Totally agree with the simplicity thing Tim.
Some people even say I play my best when I'm not playing at all.🤔
Great lesson as always.
nobody can play over chords changes like tim, amazing
Hey thank you so much!
Happy New Year Tim, all the best, luv the vids.
Health wealth and happiness 🥃from Scotland mate, am 20 years away from your simplicity 😂 I get it less is more. Thanks for another great video. Respect and stay healthy all
Happy New Year From Alabama Tim! There's likely gonna be a ton of really good new guitarists in a few years because of the material and content you and your fellow guitar centric RUclipsr's provide. I suspect that learning has never been easier. With guitar sales thru the roof for 2 years now, I hope the new ones are getting played and lessons are being taught. As an intermediate player, I hope to become one of your students soon!
There’s always the urge to show off, but in a live situation nothing seems to feel better than landing a beautiful phrase. I pushed myself last gig to play like a vocalist and not be afraid to give space in solos and use volume and dynamics.
Thanks Tim! Great lesson from a humble master of all type guitar :)
Love your phrasing! Seems easy and effortless (like maybe I could do it too . . . 🙄), and sounds so cool.
really good live stream tim... the student responsibility thing hit me
Thank you it was a risk... and I'm glad it didn't come off mean or anything
Tim, I have never heard you play a bad lick yet, ect. the intro here was done very tasteful, i had to touch my Gold Top pick it up and try to play along with you, as i did, i learned something new as always, my best, cousin figel
Tim, I apologize if you have already discussed this subject and I missed it. Your guitar chops and positive attitude are always enjoyable! Have you ever shared your method for building the backing tracks? I find your drum tracks to be excellent and I suspect other listeners do as well. What is your source or method for the drum tracks? The bass is pretty sweet too BTW😁.
Agree, by simplifying and stopping to play, you are giving the listener time to breath, and anticipate what is coming back in. Interesting what you said about Santana, this happens in many industries, example, Portrait Painting for commercial studios in China, used to be the same in Europe the apprentices do most of the painting, its the Masters who add the finishing details, that make the Picture.
Just incredible stuff Tim! Just the best.
Happy new year Tim. Thank you for your such interesting videos.
So nice of you
Happy New Year Tim and all the viewers
Just when I think there's nothing more you can teach me you blow my mind Tim.
Thanks so much!
Tim, I could watch you play all day and NEVER get bored! Loved you in Keith's "Guitars of The Beatles Rooftop Concert"!!! And btw - Sir Paul's band is just MONSTER! I saw them at Dodger Stadium for the last show of their "Freshen Up" tour, and they were just AMAZING! Was I wrong about the "Mild Mannered Guy Telling The Truth"? I thought not!!!
Excellent as always.🎸
😊 that was a great start to the year
Ha there Tim many thanks to you for sharing your skills and Tutorials with all the options chords scales riffs melodies its truly exciting to get to learn to use these skills once I improve my approach an hearing and timing. My we all get through this New Year 2022 with peaceful ease World Wide inspired with command sense
John thank you so much! I agree....
Thank you Mr Pierce!
Amazing working on my mode usage recently testing how they can be used over different progressions for weird tones
Great vid Tim, thanks for your help!
Thank you so much
Thanks Tim. Useful for me.
On the simple play-through I immediately started hearing more of the ensemble as a whole. If this had been a live band the simplicity would have created more space for the other players to interact. Any space from any of the players draws the ear to the others.
First player that comes to mind for me is the (was the) drummer for Pat Metheny throughout much of his career, the supremely tasteful Paul Wertico. His tactful and subtle underplaying gave great support to Metheny and Mays to be easily heard and allowed the over-all arc of the tune to be velvety smooth. I honestly can't listen to the newer band because of all the bombastic drumming, and I'm a drummer by trade. Thanks as always Tim.
Great guitar psychology discussion. 👍🎵🎸🙏
That's the video about guitar psychology I wanted to watch !
Tim, your playing is soooo TASTY!!!
Good video Thanks! The part about Carlos is particularly interesting.
Slowing down and playing less is a skill I have to work on every day. Great lesson.
Thank you!
I watch your shows, when I can, then go play for a couple hours….love your tasty playing.
So amazing Tim thank you. I couldn't get over those changes reminding me of Joe Satch's 'God is crying' track! Check it out. One of my favs and your track is like a cool funk / blues version 👌
Happy New Year!!!!
I shake my head when I look at a fret board vs a keyboard, who ever designed the guitar was a nut! But don't we love them. When you talked about seeing the chords on the fret board I cried.
love your "normalcy" ...... down to earth bloke doing a fab job
Wow. Did PRS get away with copying the Les Paul shape so exactly? Perhaps not for long! Oh well it's the sound, and you always sound great! Thanks Tim!
when you first started, that music made me feel warm and want to wrap myself in a blanket on a sofa in front of a fire. the clip on the other hand it felt cold. like a concert almost, if that makes sense
Woooow thanks!) a great video😎👍💥
Feliz Año Nuevo 🎊
Beautiful guitar playing
Fantastic lesson!
I so badly want to see a full collection video of all your prs guitars
Tim? Ive been suspectin all along.
Man at one time I was really groivin on and nailin that alan parsons guitar work. I luv it. Got them commandin attention licks!!
It’s comical yet sad that those of living in California got a huge emotional lift from our December rains. I was giddy every time I heard the the drops falling on the back patio. Yes, more please.
It's the same here in the Inland Northwest (WA, OR, north Idaho, western Montana) with the New Year's Eve NWS Drought Report that stated our Extreme Drought Stage 4 has receded to Stage 3, and the next three-month forecast is wetter than normal and colder than normal. Hooray for snowpack in the mountains and a cool spring to slow the melt. Livestock deaths and crop yields well below normal are hard to take. 2022 is starting out much happier!
I Can't imagine that you ever sucked, Tim. Your playing flows so smoothly and naturally, it's almost as if you were born with a guitar in your hands (LOL). I get what you're saying about playing for the song, though. That's definitely something someone should keep in mind when they're laying down a guitar track.
Hey from Canada. You are the best.
Happy New year
Tim, you need to get some vocalists, track that sound, and punters would eat that cool music up. Yacht rock lives. Can I be the first to have a copy? Happy new year from Oz. :)
Playing in the entro is just. too. cool. Too slick
To know the scales and chords over the entire fretboard is like being released from a 4'x4' candle lit cubicle to the outdoors. There are distinct riffs that associate well with certain chord forms, and not so well with the same chord elsewhere, which has its own advantages. Its funny how infinite the guitar neck looks when you don't know it and how incredibly tiny it is when you see how everything links up with infinity as you play. You can get to a point where music is playing you, and you're becoming aware of goings on around you. You don't want to miss that, after all, you paid admission!
Brilliant comment and wonderfully worded!
