So, here's how I interpreted how the possessions worked (just my opinion). In order of appearance: - The Whispering Spirits These are the whispers we hear whenever LBD's presence is near. They are not a part of LBD's consciousness, but rather spirits that she holds dominion over, such as the spider henchmen after she and the Mayor kill them. We know they are not a part of LBD's consciousness as during the season 2 finale when LBD is about to finish off MK, they start whispering "He's coming...", in reference to Sun Wukong, which gets her attention, meaning this was not information she already had. - The Mayor He was likely just a regular mortal who felt that LBD was right about the state of the world (as a War Chief, he'd have a front row set to the failings of mortals). LBD most likely granted him power by filling his body with some of the Whispering Spirits. I believe his bulky form is due to all the spirits possessing him, granting him far greater strength, enough to even overpower Macaque atvthe end of "Shadow Play". Overall, he serves LBD of his own free will, meaning LBD doesn't need to expend any energy surpressing his will like with Sun Wukong. - Demon Bull King LBD possessed his armor (which is the only part of DBK's body that changed colour) while the Whispering Spirits possesed the Bull Clones. While LBD could not possess DBK at this time, she could whisper into his ears and manipulate him. This is likely due to her having just been freed and needing time to regain her strength. - The Little Girl She is fully possessed by LBD, acting as a vessel for her consciousness and conduit for her powers. However, as a mortal, her body is still as vulnerable as ever, and cannot handle the strain of a constant use of LBD's power, hence the cracking. - Macaque Macaque is interesting in that he is never actually possessed, but being chained like a dog on a leash. I believe this is due to LBD being the one who resurrected Macaque after he was killed at the hands of Sun Wukong. She likely had the power to simply take the life she gave him back, as many times she uses chains to restrict him or pull him down to a seal on the ground. In all likelihood, if that ice completely covered him, he would die once again. The Samadhi Fire burnt away the chains, freeing his soul from the clutchs of the Lady Bone Demon. - Sun Wukong aka Monkey King He is fully possessed by as many of the Whispering Spirits as LBD can spare. Unlike to Mayor who accepted the spirits as a gift, Sun Wukong is constantly fighting against them, requiring LBD to expend much more energy surpressing his will. (Yes, I know when he is freed from her control, there is a ghostly visage of her flung from his body, but I believe that is more of a visual representation of him being freed from her control, not actually the LBD's spirit...) Overall, this is just my interpretation of how all this possession stuff works, based on what I saw in the show and personal head cannon. If you don't agree with any of this, that's fine, no hard feelings.

The fact that the spirits has a conscious of their own really makes sense to me. Especially in the way you explain how the Mayor acepted them as a gift, while Wukong fought against it. And how they possessed the bull clones, while LBD corupted/manipulated DBK And well, I totally agree with you on the little girl. About Macaque, like I said, I also don't think he was possessed. And I like your decription about how LBD really forced him to do as she said. I think it's likely too. It is seen before, that when a person revives someone, they have the power to take that life away again. I found the fact that her overall control over him is broken by the samadhi fire, and not just the ice that was consuming him at the moment is interesting too. About the spirits when they were blasted out of Wukong, and they had formed into one whole spirit that looked like LBD. You're right, it probably isn't LBD's spirit herself. I didn't meant it excatly like that, but I see I could have done a better job at making that more clear. I think it's likely they formed that way to, how do I put it: reach every corner of Wukong's body. And in that way control his every move. And due to their close connection to LBD it was her form they took, and not Wukong's exact form. LBD's form were close enogh to Wukong's (considering he's a monkey, that has very human like shapes. Except the tail, and fur, things like that. But that hardly matter that much. Short said, they both have human shapes. Overall I really like your aspects of this! And I probably agree with almost everything, if not everything - And not just because I like it😅I think you have some convincing facts with you too

And you can tell Macaque and Wukong's possesions were very different things, because Macaque's "bone possession" got instantly vaporized by the samadhi fire whilst when possessed Wukong literally walked into the fire, nothing happened.

It proobably just wouldn't have been nice to keep having that consuming ice-bone thing on your arm slowly making its way to you face and heavens knows what afterwards- You know-? I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of those cases, where something not that good would happen to him once it reached his heart or something like that. Which is one reason why he wouldn't want to keep it, even if it gives him more power.

oooh this is a cool video! I never really thought about the differences between the types of LBD's possession. I also never really noticed Macaque breaking out of those chains when he got free 👀. One thing I do want to add is that there is a possibility Lady Bone Demon created the Mayor. Jeremy Adams said: "I think the mayor is a figure created by her.". He also said that she created the Mayor when she was free (I'm guessing he meant long before she was imprisoned). In this same tweet he did say we're "in for a surprise" regarding LBD's army, and of course it seems they later scrapped the idea of her having an army, as if never appeared in the show (but did appear in the sets). So, it's possible that they scrapped the idea of the Mayor being created by LBD, but I think it's still very likely, since his eyes were still completely white after her spirits came out of him. The wiki says he "was an Emperor's Chief of War before falling under the influence of Lady Bone Demon" - but I think it's possible LBD created him, planted him within the heavenly ranks, and he slowly worked himself up - so he was always under influence. The plan of creating someone to be a mole is much more foolproof than recruiting someone, because there's much less of a chance someone you created will betray you. Trust me, I've really wondered what was going on with his white Eyes, I even had it in the video, but ended up cutting it out to make the video shorter, forgot to put it in the description. But you're right this would not only explain why he as the only character has completely white eyes all the time, it could also explain his monstrous form. In that case, what if those spirits - that she used to posses Wukong later on. Was created alongside him? This could be possebly if he always has had the powers he had, but we don't really see them in the flashback, do we? Maybe he first was created and then later on she gave him his powers, probably with these spirits 🤔
Yeah! It was natural yellow/orange to begin with, and then it turned blue as it consumed/absorbed LBD and those spirits. There's this short clip at 6:32, that shows it. I'm pretty sure it even turns back to yellow after the spirits are removed from his armor
