I love watching your podcast- especially as another multiple! I'm a triplet (2 girls and one boy) and my sister knits too but my brother does not 😂. Can't wait to see the Christmas sweaters! ❤
Love y'alls Mini Mock Neck Tank, Twist Loop Top, Margaux Top, and Stripe Hype Sweater. I worked on a knitted hat while watching. It is the My Baker's Hat pattern.
I love seeing what you’re knitting, you choose such gorgeous yarns and colours! I’m currently doing the Simon cowl by twinset and purl which is a gift knit. It’s in black and red which are not my colours at all but they’re 100% the person I’m planning on gifting it to. It’s a lovely mindless knit as it’s the same all the way through apart from the beginning few stitches of each row.
Loving all the WIPS. I’m a carry the yarn up/down the stripes knitter but also don’t mind weaving ends once I’m underway. Seeing them at the time and the thought of weaving them is a different matter 😂.
Loving your podcast 😍I carry the yarn between the stripes and that saves me for a lot of work at the end of the work 😊 Just remember to twist the yarn every 3rd or 4th row (depends off course on how many rows each color has).
I am going to knit the knitting for olive Christmas sweater also, I bought the yarn from knit-picks, I hope I do it! I love that holly pattern. I also love Sari Nordlund, I have wanted to make the Billy pullover for years! Take care you two.
Its such a lovely pattern! Jessica is planning on using a knit picks yarn for the red too! It feels a bit early to be Christmas knitting but with knitting it never hurts to start early 😊
Great podcast again. I have the Stripe Hype Cardigan in my queue on Ravelry and you have really inspired me. I plan on cutting the yarn like you have, but then I am one of those strange folks who enjoys weaving in ends!
Your podcast has so quickly become a comfort watch for me 😍 love how your twist loop top turned out, Rachel, it really motivated me to continue on mine. And I hadn’t thought about Christmas sweaters yet but now that you were talking about it …
Just subscribed to your channel after watching a few of your podcasts. Both your knitting projects are stunningly beautiful. I am currently knitting the SSP (slip stitch Party) shawl by Isabell Kramer.
Really enjoying your podcast Rachel and Jessica! I recently made the Stripe Hype Sweater and I carried my yarn, I caught it every 4 rows (so mid-way through each stripe and on the first round). It worked really well! I also omitted the waist shaping and only sized down one needle size for the body ribbing. Happy knitting :)
I think we did the same thing! I am through the body now and only went down one needle size for the ribbing, and I am really happy with that result. :) The task of weaving in all of my ends is already so daunting though.. I am kind of wishing I had done the same there 😅
Next time you knit a colorwork drop shoulder sweater, try steeking for the armholes. That way, there's no purling involved. The Ebba is a great pattern that does just that and has instructions if you're interested in trying it.
I enjoyed this so much, thank you for your podcast🤗! You have so many beautiful projects on your needles... starting soon with a christmas sweater is actually a genious idea! I spend this episode not knitting though but trying to untangle some yarn that i didn`t wind up yet and made a huge mess out of🥲 But when i`m done doing that it will hopefully become a sweater no 14 v-neck!
I’m literally cast on my porcelain sweater this morning and i’m working on it as i watch, yours is stunning and i can’t wait have mine done. i taught myself to knit backwards for the flat colourwork 😅
I’m currently working on the stripe hype sweater and I cut all my ends too, I want it to stretch appropriately and not have some weird bunching! It’s worth weaving in the ends!!
Jessica - same over here on flat fair isle messing up my knitting mojo! I’m working on a vest & around the neck I have the same issue where the #s specified do not add up correctly & it’s a pattern mistake not a knitter mistake! Very frustrating - my project is on time out right now! Yours is turning out SO lovely!❤
I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s run into that issue! It’s definitely a lesson learned for me that I need to start checking those stitch counts before diving in! I don’t blame you for putting it in time out 😅
First time here and really enjoyed it! I am knitting Structure Loop Sweatear by Other Loops; I love the clean minimalistic design of scandinavian knitters, but open to explore colourwork at some point :) happy knitting!!!
Hi Lovely Ladies what an inspiration you both are .I love your colour palette and your projects.I am not as ambitious as you are in my knitting 🧶 but I do love to knit and it is my mindfulness.I am trying new techniques and yarns and hope to grow in confidence.I have been able to knit since a child but have become more serious over the last 3-4 years ( I am almost 62😆)Happy knitting 🧶🌺
Thank you so much!! One of the great things about knitting seems to be that no matter how long you’ve been knitting there’s still more to try and learn out there 😊💛
I also made a striped sweater with a similar amt of rows and I cut all my colors. I want to make another, and I have this idea in my head where I could probably weave in the ends as I go using a technique I learned from Earthtones Girl making socks. It's in a video of her No Fear sock series and I think it's called Shadow Wrap heel with contrast toes and heels. The weaving is hidden, and it didn't change my tension on my socks. I think it might work for a sweater, too. You both knit beautifully. Thank you for sharing all your beautiful knits 🧡
I've just finished the seasons sock and had the same thing happen,it's because of the w rows of slipped stitches and blocking on blockers didn't fix it.But I love them anyway
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear blocking didn’t fix this issue for you. It’s good to know you still loved them regardless! At the end of the day that’s more important than them laying nice and flat in the sock drawer ☺️
Great episode, you two are such fast knitters!! Love Sari Nordlund patterns. I test knit Billie and a lot of people had the same issue with the gauge. Mine came out smaller than I expected but is still one of my favorite sweaters. So heavy and squishy. Kind of would like a Billie cardigan also. You may just convince me with yours! Take care!
That’s comforting to hear other knitters ran into gauge issues with its sister pattern. I’m very hopeful I’ll love it despite the fact it’ll probably be a little smaller than anticipated ☺️
Aww! Love watching you two ladies! Great podcast! Your Porcelain sweater is beautiful! I have also had the Holly Sweater on my list....it's such a beautiful, classy holiday sweater.
Lovely FOs and projects. I would love to make the Stripe Hype Sweater and the Twist Loop Top looks like a winner - very flattering. Thanks for sharing. I am working on a Thea Top at the moment in Sandnes Garn Line and have been having a bit of grief with the gauge in the garment not matching the swatch. Had to rip it out and start again and seem to be on track now but it is frustrating. Also started a Ranunculus in Tynn Line with La Bien Aimee silk mohair in a pretty soft pink and that is coming along nicely. It is a repeat knit for me so I am automatically more confident going in which is nice. :)
Ahh it is the worst when the swatch lies! We love the Sandnes Garn Line though, its a favorite summer yarn! Your Ranunculus is so inspiring! Weirdly enough, neither of us have knitted it yet and I don't know why because it is so beautiful and flattering on everyone who makes it! ❤
I usually order direct from KFO if I don’t need the yarn right away. It actually comes out cheaper than ordering from a US stockist, even with shipping.
We’ve usually found the same! And actually, sometimes it surprises us how fast it comes in 😅 we’ve gotten packages in about a week after placing the order before, which really isn’t bad!
I'm working on the Salty Days sweater, by Veronica Lindberg. Love her patterns! I see so many people making the stripe hype sweater and now I'm dying to knit one too! Love the colors you picked for your stripes! Can't wait to see how it turns out. 😊❤️
That is such a beautiful pattern!! It’s definitely on our list too!! ❤️ The stripe hype is honestly such a fun knit, so far would definitely recommend 🤗
I love your striped hyped sweater! I love the colors you chose so much, I’m hoping to cast that one on next with some stash yarn, but in a red/purple color way. I also think I would carry the yarn instead of cutting, even if that made the tension slight wonky, I’d rather have tension issues than ends to weave in issues lol. I’m currently working on the effortless cardigan. I want to make it white with slight brown striping and then I crocheted a ton of leaves in different colors that I will stitch onto it. I love your podcast, y’all’s vibe is so relaxing 💕
Thank you so much! I should have mentioned that the stripes are 5 rows of contrast colors with 3 rows of the main color in between if you want to get the same look 😊
@@thosetwinswhoknit I think it will be super fun whenever it's done, lol! The pattern I am using is from a book: Knitting With Disney by Tanis Gray. It's called the Poison Apple Pullover, inspired by the poison apple from Snow White. It's super cool circular yoke colorwork sweater. I can't wait to get it done! Unfortunately, I'm stuck on sleeve island 😭
Your sweaters are gorgeous- you make me want to cast on the porcelain sweater. I’m in a test knit right now too after a fairly long hiatus from them but then plan to cast on that Knitting For Olive Christmas sweater:)
What a great podcast! The stripe hype sweater looks amazing, I really love the blues 💙 And the socks look amazing as well, i love the three stripes! What a great episode. I was knitting the double knitted button band on my champagne cardigan while watching 😊
Hi 👋 Cheers from a silent viewer - feeling compelled to comment on the Stripe Hype: I also didn't to the body decreases and stayed with the body needle size for the body ribbing because I like my sweaters to be tents. 😂 It worked out well. As for carrying the yarn: Also did that and except for like one stripe where my tension was too tense, everything looks great. I looped the strand every 2-3 rows with loose tension.
Ohh I wish I had carried the yarn now! 😅 too little too late at this point but now I’ll know for next time! I’m glad I’m not the only one who skipped the decreases! Lol I am loving the tent sweater description 😂
You guys are such an inspiration!!Great podcast and beautiful projects! As to carrying the yarn in Stripe hype sweater, I made Direction_loop_sweater recently and I didn't carry the yarn, the designer suggested not to carry the yarn if there is a big colour contrast, like mine was blue and off white. Even though waving all the ends is a pain, I think you will be happy with the result after all. Also Rachel great point with the cardigan no. 8 and back increases, I have the same issue with levitate wrap, but I'm also hoping it will block out 😀 And I looove Jessica's porcelain sweater, beautiful colour choice! It's been on my bucket list for soo long 😍
I am so glad to have read this, I am really hoping weaving in all those ends will pay off! I know its going to be so much work 😅 The direction loop sweater is such a beautiful pattern!! And the stripes are definitely reminiscent of the stripe hype too! Ahh Jessica knit the levitate and didn't mention having issues, but I'm hoping to knit it someday so that is so helpful to know! Mine did block out so I'll cross fingers that yours does too! 💛
Love all of your projects! Love that Porcelain sweater and Hype sweater! Rachel, how do you deal with the jogs on your stripes for your sweater? Are you compensating along the side at all? Would love it if you show that next time! Thanks! ❤
There were so many cute sweaters in this episode. I absolutely would carry the yarn down the sides of the the striped sweater. In color work, I would also string an unused yarn along with the one being used to avoid having to cut it - I’d rather use more yarn (which amounts to essentially wasted yarn) than have to cut and weave ends later. On the other hand, maybe I’d choose to cut if the yarn was very expensive and I had to string quite a bit of it (but if you add up all the hanging lengths of yarn left for weaving in later, is there really that much of a difference in yarn used when stringing it along????)
This advice will definitely be taken next time 😅 I would rather use more yarn too, but honestly I doubt there would be much difference! Hindsight is 20/20 on this one!
Are you girls mainly online yarn shoppers? Missed out on the KC Yarn Crawl this year, but I feel like I haven’t seen a handful of those yarns discussed in the video in the local stores 😊 Yarn Barn is also my fav LYS ❤
I’m not a fan of carrying the yarn up the side if it’s more than 2 rows! I like having loose ends even though it’s more work because I feel like I can get the color changes for the stripes a lot neater. But that’s just for working in the round. Is this knit flat?
It is at the yoke! You start with the back, then pick up and knit the front, then connect in the round. I agree though, I think the changes do come out neater! Hopefully it will be worth the extra time 😅
@@thosetwinswhoknit I highly recommend looking up the video weavin Stephen! It’s great for when you’re doing stripes and have a bunch of ends. I used it when I made the slanty stripes tank. You basically just weave then ends in while you’re knitting.
Hi! Loved your podcast! Did you have any tension issues with the Porcelain sweater when switching between colorwork and no colorwork stripes? I love that sweater but I’m scared of getting bunching on the color work sections.
Hi! I didn’t run into any issues with it thankfully, but knitting flat with the colorwork wasn’t very fun. I definitely recommend making sure you have lots of room on your right needle to stretch out your stitches and make sure it doesn’t get too bunched up! ~ Jess
I’m excited to see how your Christmas sweaters turn out! Also every episode I wonder-where is the lamp behind you from? The shade is such an interesting shape! Thanks for keeping me company while I was up early feeding my baby!
Thank you so much!! I actually got the lamp as a damaged floor sample at crate and barrel! The rattan is a little frayed in the back. I got quite a deal on it and have some friends who say it’s ugly but I love that lamp 😂
Ahh I need to go back and add it to the description! I am so sorry we missed it! Here is the link for the pattern :) www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/festive-yoke-pullover
So sorry, I got distracted talking about the yarn crawl we had recently. The main color is the fiber co Cumbria fingering and knitting for olive soft silk mohair, the black is knitting for olive merino and soft silk mohair
No, just some expensive shipping! During the height of covid we did an order that took a super long time to get through customs, but no extra charges there either. 😊
We use an iPhone to film on cinematic mode and have a separate microphone to hopefully help with sound since sometimes phones can be a bit fiddly with noises 😊
Maybe this video will help weaving in your ends in the round. Granted she's showing with socks, but it works great.ruclips.net/video/QWp3EyLyf64/видео.htmlsi=iDXa1PCWjKiyk-tL I also do this when working flat but you do have to do it differently and I haven't found a video that shows that yet. Hope this helps!
Just was wondering if you knew that your channel has ads every 5-8 mins throughout your podcast? 😢 It really is distracting and annoying. Just wanted to let you know in case you need to contact RUclips. Love your podcast and all your makes, but not the ads!
That is so helpful to know! RUclips unfortunately doesn’t let creators control how many ads get shown, and we don’t place anything in our videos to show when they get played. I wonder if it would make a difference to do that. The only thing we’ve had a say in is opting to make all of our ads skippable, which hopefully makes it bearable, but it is still so frustrating!
@@thosetwinswhoknit Good question, I really don't know since I do no podcast. I guess it's worth a try. Yes, they are skippable after listening for a moment. Keep up the amazing knitting projects!!
Girl math- adding more yarn to get free shipping
This 😂

Can you put the xmas sweater pattern link for the festive yolk please?
Ahh I need to go back and add it to the description! I am so sorry we missed it! Here is the link for the pattern :) www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/festive-yoke-pullover
@@thosetwinswhoknitThank you ❤
Not clear, the yarns chosen for the Nord Pullover, please....?
So sorry, I got distracted talking about the yarn crawl we had recently. The main color is the fiber co Cumbria fingering and knitting for olive soft silk mohair, the black is knitting for olive merino and soft silk mohair
@@thosetwinswhoknit I have the pattern and want to knit one! Thank you!
New subscriber here! Another great podcast. A question for you, did you have to pay any extra taxes for your knitting for olive order?
No, just some expensive shipping! During the height of covid we did an order that took a super long time to get through customs, but no extra charges there either. 😊
love your podcasts so much ❤️ what camera do you guys use to film?
We use an iPhone to film on cinematic mode and have a separate microphone to hopefully help with sound since sometimes phones can be a bit fiddly with noises 😊
@@thosetwinswhoknit do you guys use the front or back camera of your iphone?
Hi twins girl my dear friend how are you nice video ❤❤❤😊😊
Maybe this video will help weaving in your ends in the round. Granted she's showing with socks, but it works great.ruclips.net/video/QWp3EyLyf64/видео.htmlsi=iDXa1PCWjKiyk-tL
I also do this when working flat but you do have to do it differently and I haven't found a video that shows that yet.
Hope this helps!
It does!! Thank you so much for sharing! ❤

@@thosetwinswhoknit
Good question, I really don't know since I do no podcast. I guess it's worth a try.
Yes, they are skippable after listening for a moment.
Keep up the amazing knitting projects!!
