  • Exploring how SHUVA serves as a useful alternative to the word love in a professional setting because it isn’t confused with romantic feelings. Powerful stories of ways SHUVA has transformed lives and relationships. Beach’s LeadershipSmarts company makes the hard work of inclusive leadership simple to understand and easy to do. She received a master’s in organizational development from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, a master’s in geology from The University of Tulsa and a bachelor’s in geology from The University of Oklahoma. She created the seen, heard, understood, valued, and appreciated (SHUVA) acronym to break down and codify how to build high-quality working relationships. In 2021, she published her book, The Art of Alignment: A Practical Guide to Inclusive Leadership. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Unfortunately, the production manager quit that week, and they only had an intern. The intern did not record my audio feed into it's own track. Instead it went out into the pa then into the recording. Video also should have had 3 camera angles. So disappointing but I'm doing the best I can with what I got and considering if I can reproduce it somehow.
