It’s a novelty, a nice collectors item, I’ve just put my iMac into the attic, retiring my MacBook Pro 2017, and taking delivery of a 16” Macbook Pro. The old iMac has 24GB ram, an i7 processor, an SSD, and yes it’s fine for net browsing etc, but painfully slow in Photoshop, is OCLP really secure? Thoroughly enjoyed your video, interesting, filled with detail, thanks.
Great machines and thank you for your comment and support my friend. 🙏 I've done over 100 macs with OCLP and I've never had any security issues or scares. Sure the older they are the less chance Maps, AppStore and AirDrop will work and work properly and you're right about Photoshop but overall, OCLP is evolving these days. You can set it so that you are getting all the current apple security updates and they are downloaded and applied automatically. Right now OCLP 1.4.3 on Sonoma 14.4.1 is a masterpiece and turned out flawless on a 2017 iMac and 2015 MBP I did in the last two days. Both getting security updates with no issues. Chrome or Firefox with AdBlock Plus and Avira Browser Safety plugins will serve anyone well in 2024 Mac or PC. 🙏🙏
I have an old 2010 27'' and want to upgrade to SSD and full RAM 32Gb; but I usea as all, design, social media, entertainment... and sadly I can't run Apple TV+, I think it`s problem with my GPU that it´s not metal capable. I have and AMD Radeon HD 5750 1Gb, did you test Apple TV with OCLP; by now I have Big Sur on the HDD as a test... I'm thinkin to try Monterrey even Catalina see if Apple TV works... can you tell me something about it. Have a nice day bro. Keep growing.
I've always been a fan of Logitech products. This one is a combo set that will support up to 3 devices and what I like is that the keyboard AND mouse that it comes with are both high quality. Sometimes on their combo sets one will be good while the other will be lacking. Let me know what you think and hopefully this helps. 🙏 amzn.to/3J1KUWE
The Mac OS on this imac is becoming end of life, this means my browser is stopped upgrading , which one day sooner or later, I will be forced by some major websites to upgrade my browser. And that means , either I have to switch to another browser , or have to give up the computer ....... Starting now, I already experience that GMail does not load with my chrome broswer anylonger, it just wait to load webapp all the time , and then go time out. I tried OpenCore , but it can not support to upgrade this imac 2009 . So , eventhough it works as a computer , but when it starts to connect to internet, you will find it starts to have irritating problems here and there. Sooner or later, you will want to get away from that lovely imac, and get to a newer one. And THAT IS BY DESIGN ..... Apple knows the pain , the industry knows, and they are happy to get user to move on using new tech one way or another.

Earlier than 2012 typically has challenges.
Was the total 8GB sufficient? Wondering to have this with garageband.
It’s still good cause it literally runs better than our schools MacBooks
Really ? I can put a Light room and première in that ?
I have 2 iMacs 2011/12 roughly I want them both to work on the same keyboard and mouse how can I do this ?

Still having my late 2008 on El Capitan, can we upgrade any further???
Try OCLP..... I have the same w/ ventura os on it... Though have to upgrade the hdd to ssd
Wats the upper limit? Can you put 64gb ram in it or even 128gb ram?
I have this exact scenario. Can you recommend a service who might take care of this for me???
Probably not economical the moment you have to pay someone to do this.
