Rock Cellar Productions presents the “California Saga 2” - an all-star charity concert benefitting the homeless. Performing classic songs and music of California, the Tribe Band will be joined by Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Famers David Crosby and Al Jardine, plus Jesse Colin Young of The Youngbloods, Grammy-winning guitar legend Albert Lee, members of the Immediate Family: Danny “Kootch” Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel, Leland Sklar, and Steve Postell.
Hosting the evening as Co-Masters of Ceremonies will be Musical Artist-Entertainer-Homelessness Activist, Judith Owen, and Derek Smalls (formerly of the band, formerly known as Spinal Tap). Other featured musical guests include drummer Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers), guitarists Jason Sinay (The Dirty Knobs), Laurence Juber (Paul McCartney & Wings), David Marks (Beach Boys), and Freebo (Bonnie Raitt), Rosemary Butler (Jackson Browne), actor/singer Rob Morrow, and more.
The Tribe is a collective of 30+ session and touring musicians and singers who, together with celebrated artists, perform annual concerts to raise money to bring aid, care, and comfort to those experiencing homelessness, especially children and families.
Supporters of the concert not only enjoy a night of great talent, but being part of the bigger picture - one that embraces a cross section of our community, which includes California’s homeless. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Get Together Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to action, delivering aid, care, comfort, and music to our community’s most vulnerable residents, along with our partner organizations Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission, and the Midnight Mission, all committed to making a difference in our community. Our sponsors include KLOS, Norm’s Rare Guitars, U.S. Bank, L.A. Weekly, and more.
The concert will take place at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown LA on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, 8:00pm, doors at 6:30pm. There will be a silent and live auction with unique memorabilia and experiences. Proceeds from this significant fundraising effort will go directly to fund programs helping families and individuals in need.

Wow! This guy is a living legend and he just played probably the most iconic song of the 60’s right there in norms shop. Too cool norm!! Too dam cool!! Thank you
Energy is so wasted on the young when these old timers have so much wisdom and experience. I love these videos.
I remember seeing Jesse with CSNY and the Beach Boys at mile high stadium in Denver back in 74
I was there! Great memories!
Nice, if it wasn't for flashbacks we wouldn't have any memory at all. Aloha Norm and Jesse
Thanks, Jesse. That was the anthem of the era.
Still radiates that positive attitude. Great to see him selling beans...aloha...
Sunday morning tears.....Thanks Jesse. I was 12 years old and had just lost my father to suicide when this song first hit. My brother Tim was too young for The draft and the inevitable trip to Vietnam and my brother Mike was already flying Hueys over there. This song really helped me make it through those times.
Thank you Norm for featuring the legends from all genres and all eras .
always love this song by him and this Martin guitar sounds AWESOME !
love the spirit of the song ~! ... i have a '76 HD-28 1st year- it's over the Top tonality- but this Marquis HD-28 seems very responsive and sounds so robust and dynamic~! this is one special Live performance~! thank you Jesse Colin and Norm - great cause Helping the Homeless
The man will be 80 years old in Nov. 2021. Unbelievable. I saw him in N. California perform for maybe 75 of us in Graeagle CA.. He had all the kids get on the stage with him for this song and had them sing along. It was amazing and I will never forget how kind he was to everyone. Great performer.
SWEET 😁
A hero of my youth, Jesse has given me years of entertainment with a message of hope, peace and love. Thank You Jesse, you and your craft are greatly appreciated by many.

One of the classics of the era.
Thank you Jesse, the Youngbloods were the first concert I ever saw, at a double bill with The Earl Scruggs Review as I remember. 1971 or so, I guess. Good good stuff.
The best performance I have ever seen above all of Norms videos!!!!
Really glad to see someone who cares about the homeless here in the US.. it's become

My goodness! I love it 🥰. So much talent.
Jesse & that Martin make a great pair . :-) Great ! Thanks for this Norman.
One of my favorite songs! Thanks!

Thank you Sir Norman and Jesse, Jeff in LA USA
Great , Like seeing Jesse, He sure has a Productive Guitar in his hands there. Wow. That is an awesome guitar.
Wow Norm, you've such a beautiful voice... (and you can sing as well)
Nice job Norm 👍 Great to hear Jesse
It's so great when you get these fellows in your store from the days of my youth. And speaking of youth....you sold a Martin, I believe, to the son of a good friend of mine recently and he's heading to your favorite school this fall........his name is Ian Westerbeck.
Im glad i had a chance to see this video
Saw him in Austin Texas at a place called Liberty Lunch in the mid 80's. No band just him playing a one man show and it was such a good show.
Awesome guys! Awesome stuff!
A treat to hear the interview w/Jesse. Had to learn the song for a cover band gig recently. I must say, and not being mean, but this a legit observation - most bass players play guitar just like Jesse, with a heavy right hand, they just don't know it. Cheers 🤟
Amazing! One of the best ever.
Somebody please pick up that phone! Probably Agnesi hoping to get his good job back, , , ,
GREAT appearance,,, hope to attend that show.
i know ...idiots
My favorite album is Good and Dusty. Wow! Great music! Thanks, Jesse
Mine is Elephant Mountain
Saw Jesse w CSNY and the Band at Varsity Stadium in Toronto ‘74. It was pouring rain but what an event. Jesse opened and I was hooked. Thank you for everything then and ever since Jesse.
Just a class act all the way.

Great track of course . But my favorite was ... Darkness darkness ;p Thumbs up Jesse !!

Many great songs, Elephant Mountain is a great album. Darkness Darkness is one of the most poignant songs of the era...thanks for the upload :)
Thank you: this is prolific and biblical. God Bless JCY!
I kept expecting Mark to run in and grab the tuner off the headstock. XD It's good to see Jesse's still doing it after all these years.
Another great taste from norm's book of excellence!nice guitar.classic sounds!great job.
Norm you really seam like a super cool dude!!!
That Martin is amazing , and Jesse is too
Bolinas Lagoon "concert" Kent island (in 1970?) was kind of a Local gathering as I recall. Later, Grace and Paul bought the house at the end of Brighton. I had built my cabin/ tiny house on my lot up on the big mesa... The best of times surfing, reading and going over the "hill" (Mt. Tam) for school...
Love it.. Great song amazing sounding guitar
Магазин Нормана - это явление! Я бы ходил сюда каждый день, как на работу! Столько классных посетителей, столько классной музыки, столько классных инструментов!!!🎸🎸🎸👍👍👍

what a treat!!!
Priceless
This guy's music goes way beyond "Get Together" ( a song he didn't write), listen to the album "Song for Juli" and especially the song "Ridgetop", amazing stuff.
Randall P. McMurphy
... and an iconic guitar riff. 😊
This song was written by Dino Valenti, the vocal leader of Quicksilver, Dino never received a cent in royalties, as he had to sell his songs, pay legal fees, etc., as he was arrested for possession of marijuana, used the stage name Chet Powers, that was the madness of the sixties Big Dino who wrote the song "what about me"
Lowell “Banana” Levinger currently is a member of Little Steven’s Disciples of Soul
Lowells fabulous guitar playing on "Get Together" along with Jerry absolutely make that song !
@@Johngonefishin the vocal is pretty good too :)
Are you serious?
Love this.
This is great wow!
Saw him live at Seattle's Paramount Theatre 1975, we've aged and he's still playing.
I saw Jesse Colin's play for free in Griffin Park, that was way back in 69. Where did the last 50 yrs. go?
I feel really old when I read my age on a document. Or when an old lady comes up to me and says I remember you from school. Lol
saw him many years ago, playing a light brown guild, on a rainy night, in rockville, md. banana was cool too.
Answer the phone!! Jesse is a classic!!
Cool ...great performance

Yes, Get Together was written by Dino Valenti...and taught to Jesse Colin Young by Buzzy Linhart. Dino and Buzzy both kind of faded away, disappeared under the music radar and are no longer with us. But Jesse certainly got a lot of mileage out of this song (and in several interviews that I have seen, Jesse gives credit to Dino and Buzzy for The Youngbloods' version of Get Together).
