It does hold the gun straight; the tab is created when the fist closes so you have to angle the gun a bit as you do so. It's not as intuitive as the earlier design or that used by most 3P ones though. As for the design and QC issues, I mentioned most of the same points in my review. I agree that the feet and backpack are unsightly (more because of the gaps than the size though), and the QC is definitely an issue. The paint isn't as bad on mine, but the faction symbols are a little crooked (I know the one on his chest is low down on purpose) and the mouths are more of a spotty grey than solid black. The hips and elbows are also loose on mine, but the shoulders are scarily tight. The main issue with mine is that a piece of the right headlight is gouged out. You can't really see it from a distance, but knowing it's there is bad enough when you consider what this thing cost. It's also too tall for Takara's own established scale... It's a real shame, because as with MP-44 it looks amazing from the front, but is marred by off-axis views and poor QC. At least the knee joints aren't broken out of the box like they were on mu MP-44. I really hope they retool this into a decent Cliffjumper, but Takara seems to have little interest in finishing the season one cast, let alone season two and three...
JobbyTheHong's opinion of the figure is that he despised the figure. Though it's fantastic on just the front, but hated every angle of the engineering and the back pack. Doesn't help that Bee's altmode is a upscaled version of a Penny Racer Volkswagen Beetle, which the G1 is a re-release of the Micro Change figures.

For the hands holding the gun, the groove in the palm is misleading, instead u need to place the gun on the fingers first, then curl the fingers as u push the tab inwards into the palm and it can hold the gun straight. 100% agree with the loose joints and paint issues, esp when we r paying at this price range.

Front of the car mode = spot-on accurate. Back of the car mode = not so much. Front of the robot mode = spot-on accurate. And the back of the robot mode = not so much. The figure needs a remold.

And the QC on his was even worse - he actually broke the foot.) Then again, factory rejects seem to be more and more of a thing...I got what's supposed to be a KO of MP40 Targetmaster Hot Rod, only to learn that it's either a factory reject or a legit Hasbro Asia release.
Lol, it simply has a big turtle shell for a back! Not forgetting it's also far too barrel chested, chicken legged, and clown footed! The feet are almost the same size as MP-45, just all pushed to the front instead of more to the rear like MP-45. I think MP-21 was fantastic for its time, and love the realistic VW car mode with the other originals. But it looks very dated now next to MP-45.
Why is he so way over price to be so small ? The windows Should be so tint they should hide the inside to cover up the Joints in them he looks great but is greatly over priced.
I really think Takara tries too hard to make these new figures, relax and make a good figures, simpler transformation that pull off the look with as little paint apps.
