Why not show the band members playing on the big screens at all times?, kinda pointless having a video play on them, when they get to show them playing they are obscured by smoke, if i was this far away i would be pissed.

The physics of two concentric rings of PA, all propagating outward ... not interfering with one another and summing correctly, throwing adequately quality sound in the far seats is not easy. These results are killer. With most big stadium events, the sound turns to mush by the time it gets to the far seats. Bravo Meyer Sound, Big Mick Hughes FOH engineer.
I love how Metallica invests so much money into their stage, sound and overall show. Ever since the Black Album and the successes that came with... they have had huge, great live shows. I saw them live before the Black album and to watch their growth over the years has been awesome. And a major shout out to the video and audio quality here. Its what Metallica deserves. Great job.

You're right, but this is cool. I dig this wide-shot perspective, capturing and integrating the visual effects ... synched up with the fast, staccato hits ... badass. A mammoth amount of gear out there ... this is a wonderfully presented rock show.

I mean I know you want to show the whole stage setup and all of the lights and stuff, but dude that's an obvious nice phone, you got a zoom in once in awhile and see how far, and clear of a shot you can get especially when James and them guys came over towards your area facing you. Not once did they even try to zoom in. Good Lord
Honestly, I feel end stage (im talking arena tour in the future) I am so longing for, because while this looks amazing...don't get me wrong....How much Pink Floyd stage show do I need with my thrash? I saw them on the black album...Jason..forget about it.....Oh how I miss Jason lets not go there.... So I really kinda would love to see like a Justice type thing. THat was the last time they ever did traditional end stage. Diamond Black Album era stage was un freaking believable.

I was thinking the same thing. All that effort and time and money for people who want to get right down in there near the snake pit or close to the ring. When the best sound is back 200 ft and even elevated up the side in the first risers.

they do for like 95% of the show. This song is a show piece. Not too mention it's not like we haven't seen them play it 4 billion times. They are keeping it fresh. Notice no clips from the music video etc... We've been seeing that stuff for 35 years. Time to see new stuff. I loved it.
It's also strange the stage is black the band is wearing black clothes it makes it hard to see them. I don't know maybe it was different if you were really there?
They walk around the stage, so you always have a band member to look at. Even Lars has multiple drumkits so if you can’t see him in the beginning, that doesn’t mean you don’t see him at all. Before the first show started I thought I would hate those screens because they obstruct, but in the end they really didn’t bother me at all
@@janglenapper the entire release of AJFA was unstable, look at tracks like Eye Of The Beholder, the vocals sound like a telephone conversation between James and a producer, Dyers Eve, the guitars aren’t clear and fuzzy, the band doesn’t love the way this album was produced but it’s still a great one
Too much distraction. You hardly see them on stage. Not acting as a band. The idea is interesting but it is not really catching me comparing it with the previous tour
5.20 onwards…I get this is the exciting bit, but they up the tempo way too much to the point they are literally rushing through their parts and it turns totally sloppy. Wish they wouldn’t do that quite so offensively.
Metallica is a "live" band and one of those that doesn't even try to strictly reproduce the studio/original versions live. This is not good approach even in classical music. Some will appreciate it, others won't. It's alright..

All the songs had bass lines, good ones too. Lars just mixed them out so you couldn't hear them in the final release.
