    Now I realize that I never appreciated how good the soundtrack of this game is.

      Fun fact: PS2 port features alternative tracks, for instance: Manhattan Chase, Angel's Bay. Also, some ideas are similar to what the game's composer Simon Robertson has released on his solo album "Outside In" under the alias _Gen'ik._

    This game was my childhood! I remember the rage time when I tried to pass through the story modes then after i completed them, I unlocked the "Jimmy Bly's prototype car"! I ended having to use cheat codes just to unlock all the drivers and try out the Indy car.

      yep i am usually on board to all kind of racing games from NES to whatever, i like it futuristic, simulation, arcade, or any misture as long as it has the physics they intent to be appealing , i would suggest auto modelista over this in terms of arcade racers in gcn.

    • @SolidSonicTH
      @SolidSonicTH 3 года назад

      @@Ralkila You're recommending Auto Modellista because the physics of this game are weird?
      My experience with Auto Modellista has been nothing but pain when it comes to control...

    • @Ralkila
      @Ralkila 3 года назад

      @@SolidSonicTH Auto modellista is a strange mix of pure arcade to slight deep simulator. If you read every mail you receive in that game i asure you, you will learn a lot of racing terms and mechanics. My point is that racing games that aren't full arcade like cruis'n USA and things like that usually want you to have 1 car of each style. AM teaches you why you should going for certain power in cars and the motor position and the traction and the grip over drift and vieceversa.
      It is a good game to start learning small but varied things and to learn to drive more variants of cars. Also it has very unique tracks even japanese drifting style ones.
      it is pretty short although.

    If you judge a movie game by how accurate it represents the movie, than this game nails it. Just like the movie it is absolutly no master piece, totally unrealistic... but still kind of enjoyable xD
    The chases through the traffic were really hard to win. All sidewalks act like walls which is annying. Not a single bit of your tire may drive over them. Key element of the game is the "Zone". You can fill your Zone meter by not touching anything leaving the track. When it's full your max speed increases just as your acceleration which is essential in some races.

      Even more note worthy, if you go hard difficulty when racing on certain tracks, the other racers purposely crash into other racers like it's scripted start of the race.

    Oh crap! I remember playing this game as a child. I managed to beat it as it was hard. As I got older, I managed to slow down and brake as much on sharp turns. The only hard part in the story I did not like was chapter 11 chasing after Jimmy. Maybe I'll try and record my playthrough of this game. I used to have it before my old channel got shut down.
